  1. Conspiracy theory alert: I think Jeff mercy-killed the show. I don't know if the whole "Jenni reported him for harassment" thing was fake, or if that really happened and he just decided to talk about it and spill the beans about her not really working for Jeff Lewis Design, but I think the show was on its last legs anyway. Now when it gets cancelled, he can say, "Yeah, I pissed Bravo off and they cancelled the show/they don't want to make the show without Jenni so it's over" instead of "I haven't really changed or grown in over 11 years, despite having a long-term partner and becoming a parent, so my life isn't interesting anymore." I am trying to think of a personality-driven (as opposed to competition) reality show that's lasted this long. Are there many? Keeping up with the Kardashians I guess, but it has a really large "cast" to drive the storyline.
  2. The woman whose womb she developed in before she was born is not her mother! She has two parents who desperately wanted her, and love her, and have the means to give her a safe and comfortable life. That's so much more than so many children get.
  3. Last episode Jeff told Zoila she could see the baby as much as she wanted but...I wonder if he meant that, or if that was to not look like a dick/further embarrass Zoila on television. She told the nanny not to listen to Gage because he wasn't the baby's "real" father! Gage--the primary caregiver, the one the baby turns to when she's sad or hurt. That's...pretty unforgivable, as far as I'm concerned. I would love to know what Jeff and Gage said to each other about it off camera. (I think Gage is savvy enough not to dump on Zoila on camera.). If she can't affirm both of Monroe's parents then maybe she doesn't need to be in her life after all. As you all said, they perceive enough judgment from the world about being two dads raising a child. They don't need it in their own home, too.
  4. I've thought this for awhile...that Jeff doesn't want to look weak on camera, and that he sees showing affection as a sign of weakness. I wonder, when Jeff poured his heart out at Valentine's dinner, if Gage had a chance to do the same. It doesn't really seem like Jeff has trouble expressing how he feels, but Gage bottles it up. He's getting a taste of that working parent, you can never measure up, "damned if you do, damned if you don't" thing that so many mothers know intimately. I think on some level Gage didn't quite see that coming. I'm reluctant to call what he's feeling postpartum depression exactly, because major hormonal shifts contribute to postpartum depression and obviously that's not part of Gage's experience, but the fact that a baby you wanted with all of your heart can totally fuck up your routine and your identity and your relationship is hitting him square between the eyes. And I think lots of new parents feel that way, even when their partners are being kind and supportive (unlike Jeff).
  5. That "What's your contribution? I pay all the bills" comment from Jeff was some first class BULLSHIT. Since Gage joined JLD: -he encouraged Jeff to start taking speaking gigs, which are pretty darn lucrative for not that much work. (we saw that in Gage's first season. Five, maybe?) -Jeff got the deals with Living Spaces and then Walter E. Smithe in Chicago. I assume as the Business Affairs person, Gage was pretty instrumental in that. -Jeff got his paint/tile/barn doors going with Home Depot. In an earlier season we saw Gage worry that Jeff would blow the paint deal with his inappropriate jokes--Gage said Jeff had no idea how many months of work had gone into setting all of it up. -the show has continued, even though Gage didn't want to be on it at first. All of this is Gage's work = money in Jeff's pocket. And honestly, with Jeff's weird control issues and insistence on blurring boundaries, I don't think he actually wants a partner who works a 9-5 job elsewhere. Such a person would be way too independent and separate, which is not how he rolls, Mr. Your office is in my living room/we all have to eat lunch together/I'm timing your bathroom trips/you have to work while listening to the sound of my crying baby.
  6. To me, this episode affirmed Gage's fundamental decency as a person. He called himself a monster (I think) for checking in with the surrogate multiple times a day, he acknowledged that she had every right to push back against inducing, his irritation or frustration about the pregnancy lasting past the due date seemed more rooted in just wanting to meet his daughter than his own inconvenience, he thanked the surrogate immediately afterwards, and he said nice things about Jeff and what having a baby together meant about their relationship. I know he can come off as a bit aloof, but I think he's just kind of quiet and reserved and not super-comfortable with reality show "fame".
  7. Haha. "This baby is LATE. We're never late and our baby is LATE. LATE!" I...wonder what the surrogate thought about those mean things Jeff said about her...beav. Kinda rude. Wonder if he regrets it now.
  8. Jeff was a guest on Heather McDonald's Juicy Scoop podcast this past week. They are friends in real life and crack each other up. It was a good interview.
  9. Zoila has been in two of the last three pics Jeff has posted on Twitter/Instagram. I am choosing to believe that means they are filming now, and that we'll get some sort of "bringing home baby" special later this spring. Here's hoping!
  10. This is how I feel about Liz and Ric, then AND now (I know, I know *handwave*), which is why dumping them for Liz and Jason--which was utterly doomed from the start--was such a bitter pill to swallow. If Ric and Liz are not going to be together, at least have it be because she's found someone else who is really good for her or she's growing as a person or something. But they were sacrificed for nothing-- Liz and Jason were never going to work, it couldn't ever last. They further destroyed Ric's character to break them up and destroyed Liz's character after that. So now she's in this weird limbo where she somehow believes she's too good for Ric--someone she has a lot of history with, who was THERE and wants HER AND HER KIDS--but is not too good for Franco, who has done real bad stuff to lots of people INCLUDING her kids. And I don't hate Franco as much as a lot of folks do, but if she can justify being with him then she can justify being with Ric FFS.
  11. Are these Jason/Liz fans from the SBu era or do they like BM? The only way BM seems like Jason is his hanging around Liz having opinions about her life and choices that are none of his business. SBu-era Jason did that, too. Did Liz cheating on THE DEFINITIVE LUCKY tarnish that in many folks' eyes though? How could she do that if her were truly her lobster? I could have liked a Becky/RoHo pairing were he not Franco (or if the writers had truly done the long, hard job of redeeming Franco for real--which probably would have meant RoHo/Franco leaving PC for a good while). They have chemistry. I don't love all of his acting choices, but when I do I REALLY do.
  12. If the writers assumed that, they were correct. The fanbase has always been there. They pretty actively prevented her from being let go twice now. I've watched some Liz/Franco stuff on YouTube, and it's kind of cute if you can pretend that Franco is somebody else. Does the writing for Elizabeth suffer because she doesn't have a "one true pairing" love interest? There's no consensus among her fans about who she should be with. For a long time it was JJ-era Lucky but then he came back and for various reasons the old magic wasn't recaptured. Once upon a time it could have been Jason--too much water under that bridge, there was loads of potential in a reformed Ric, the history was there for Nikolas--but she's just been pinging around like a pinball. I think she needs her version of Robin's Patrick Drake--a new, fresh character with little or no baggage. Not that GH needs yet another character, but c'mon. Becky/Liz have earned it.
  13. Liz is a character, but if I'm Liz... -and I cheat on Lucky, with his brother, don't I feel the need to justify this horrendous behavior by deciding that my love for Nikolas is a love that cannot be denied? So when Nikolas comes back and is all smoldering and into Liz, why wouldn't she go back to him? I liked Liz and A.J., but they weren't serious at the time. (And if I'm Nikolas, when Elizabeth finally comes around and decides she loves him back, why would I stay with Britt of all people? I never believed that after all they had been through, they would let issues of timing get in the way). And these are not the musings of a Liz/Nic shipper because... -again, if I'm Liz, and back comes Ric, who has always been devoted to me and is good to my kids and looks like Rick Hearst, and I've already decided to forgive him for all kinds of bad deeds, AND THEN RIC IMPROBABLY COMES BACK FROM THE DEAD, why am I going to have the warms for Jake Doe? He was just a big old void. I get why some people don't like Liz, but I do, and I'm willing to fanwank and handwave as necessary, but her choices have not seemed realistic or relatable to me in YEARS. Thank you for letting me get that off my chest. :-)
  14. I've been thinking about this "brownies make the house smell for three days" business, and the only kind of brownies that I've ever known to do that are...special brownies. That doesn't seem like the kind of thing Gage would be into, but the idea of these uptight, workaholic control freaks unwinding on a Sunday by partaking in edibles and then vegging on the couch and giggling about their cats' antics for hours pleases me.
  15. I actually think that was Monkey, where everyone was at the vet together and they were all crying. Stewie had to be put down and they talked about it on camera but the camera didn't actually go to the vet like it did with Monkey. Stewie died on the same episode where Jeff and Gage gave sperm samples for the IVF and raced each other and Jeff was all cocky before they did it (pardon the pun) but Gage finished in record time. According to Jeff's instagram, the Siamese cat is named Patrick and the orange cat is named Carver.
