  1. Have others read the Primetimer thread on Reddit? It's pretty elucidating 😉
  2. Or maybe her shoe budget, which would likely make even a bigger dent. If he won't even help her take out the trash despite her clear and repeated indications that she would like his help doing so, there's pretty much no hope that he'll help her deal with whatever emotional turmoil she's going through right now.
  3. Property records say $72k, but it was tiny (around 1000 sq ft) and needed a total gut job based on what we saw on the episode.
  4. Oh, the resentment is real. There's an entire scene in the Christmas video where Alyssa says she "wants it documented" that John doesn't take out the trash and he films her as she angrily pulls the bag out of the can and drags it out the front door. She sarcastically says "just call me John Webster" and says she just needs a hat and he actually tosses her one! It's clearly a longstanding argument they have because she says she always says "this is not my job." John just doesn't give a shit. Say what you want about Chad but at least he does work around the house to help Erin.
  5. This is the person who walks around everywhere (including the dance studio) barefoot? I'd say no. She's definitely not the most naturally intelligent Duggar kid. (Why Austin doesn't stop him from sucking his thumb, I dunno; even his dad recognized a long while back he shouldn't be doing it.)
  6. Unless I misunderstood, that's what it sounded like. From my experience, it helps to have medical knowledge when you have a family member in the hospital, and there are studies indicating people get better quality care when it's known that they have family members who care about them. At the risk of offending some folks who I know are in the profession I'll say the following. Quality of care in the hospital isn't always the greatest. When my own grandparents were in the hospital, there were times the staff wanted to do things that made no sense, and had we not been there to question them, the outcome would have been worse than it was. Floor nurses aren't going to be attentive to your loved one's needs in the same way that you are and they might even miss signs that something is wrong. So I'd say it was good Michael was there to stay with Bill and her nursing education certainly helped.
  7. She did say that. In one of Trace's vlogs, he (or Jane) talks about how Bill was in the hospital a while back and Jane was too sick to stay over and take care of him so Michael came down and stayed the whole time in the hospital with him. It seems like several of the older grandkids are close to them, but the ones with kids of their own probably would have a harder time being able to stay over to help care for them if they were ailing, so it makes sense Michael would do it. I think Gil goes down to his parents' place a fair bit also. God forbid Kelly gets off her ass to do anything to help. Typical narcissist--good at looking busy without actually doing any real work.
  8. When did she morph into Kim Basinger? I watched an old episode this morning where she still had normal lips.
  9. Jana responds with an unemotional "Oh, nice, congrats!" (translation: "Yeah, whatever"), while Michelle's voice rises several octaves further into insanity ("Auuuunt Kaaaaateeeey's goooonna haaaaave aaaaaaanother baaaaaayyybeeeee!!!!!" she whisper-screeches). Meanwhile, Gracie's reaction to those around is pure gold. You have to watch it to truly appreciate it; the screen grab just doesn't do it justice (for those who don't want to subject themselves to the whole video, it starts around 7:54).
  10. At least she managed to tie her hair back for this one? Jessa has a video on her YouTube where she makes this same recipe (with the same seasoning packet). She used kitchen shears to cut the meat directly into the pan so as not to dirty extra implements 🙄
  11. https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/6631388/jim-bob-duggar-sells-josiah-lauren-property/
  12. I said "might have involved realizing," meaning speculating based on my observations of her other behavior, notably that she's distanced herself from her parents somewhat and she's/they've acknowledged going to therapy and setting boundaries. She's already not raising her kids the way she was raised--Israel has been going to public school rather than being homeschooled, and is the first in the entire family to do so. That's not really a small departure in my mind, but I guess YMMV. I think you're missing the larger point, though, which is that if she *isn't* relegating older brother to brother-dadding younger brother, it's nothing to criticize her for.
  13. Maybe none of them happen to have hairdresser skills? I can believe that. Part of her personal growth over the past several years might have involved realizing that she doesn't want to subject her own kids to the kind of childhood she had. So if she's not forcing one of her kids to look after the other (particularly for reasons as superficial as being able to have more time to do her own hair), I think she ought to be applauded for it, not lambasted.
  14. It's really hard to do your own hair color at home and have it look good, especially when it's been previously done by professionals. And most (if not all) professionals will tell you the stuff available in drugstores is crap. Maintaining colored hair is a lot of work, pretty pricey over time, and can be really damaging to the hair if not done right. Her hairdresser probably should have advised her on lower-maintenance color choices if she knew she wasn't going to be able to keep it up. Or maybe she intended to and, you know, life got in the way. It happens.
  15. Her hair in this video rivals her messy, half undone hair in that clip they posted the morning after the first night of their honeymoon. But hey, at least her makeup's on point, what with her skin's soft, dewy glow and a lip color to match. Isn't this how we all look when we're in the kitchen cooking a meal? She's totally giving me home-cook vibes here.
  16. Doesn't Kelly's dress look just like that tin monstrosity she and Michelle wore to various weddings a few years ago, only in black and chiffon? In fact, if you look closely, it looks like it may have been layered over with chiffon and have had sleeves added. Of course, you'd ask why anyone would go to such lengths with such an ugly dress to begin with when you could just buy a new one with less effort, but maybe she really likes the style?
  17. Jessa just posted a YT video of how she surprised Ben while he was at work by moving all their stuff to the new house. Her narration when he comes home to the empty old house is that he's stoked that she was able to pull it off and he doesn't have to do the work of moving. Ben's actual quote? A monotone, "I guess she was ready to move." HA! Are those two ever on the same page?
  18. I'm just noting that she melts into a literal puddle each time. Sounds kinda messy, or at least inconvenient to presumably have to morph back and forth between puddle and human form.
  19. Here is another shot of Joy at Abbie's shower. She doesn't look obviously pregnant to me.
  20. There have been some other recent pics of her and she looks pretty flat.
  21. I'm certainly apt to take marital advice from someone who looks miserable in all the videos his wife posts to social media of them together.
  22. She might be able to pronounce it, bur she probably can't spell it (remember "walla"?).
  23. Right. Natural if you're an ass who's intent on shaming your wife (and why is it always around food? In another video he condescendingly pinches her cheek while telling the camera how much Katey loves food). Being in dire financial straits would have been a generous interpretation of his behavior. You're right--being a jerk who can't abide his wife spending any money, even if it's just to feed herself, probably just comes naturally.
