  1. Alex Wagner was totally trolling Like! She most definitely was not being sincere 😂
  2. Aimlessly scrolling Reddit this morning between orders of French toast from my second-grader, and came across the new Abu Dhabi event. It was just 🤦‍♀️ I mean i think Mika is a nice person but how did this thing...snowball? Also, apparently you get a promotional discount if you are under 30 or over 50? Too bad to be in your 40s I guess! I'm just a boring 40-something Canadian mom and nurse so I won't be going, ha, but I was curious to see our Prime Minister's ex-wife Sophie G. will be there.
  3. ETA: This is weird. I couldn't find out how old Maggie MaGrath is but the the other two were born in 1975 (Abedin) and 1976 (Elrod). They aren't even 50! Uh I guess the whole KYV/being 50 is just sort of whatever in this organization. Mika seems nice but I bet she would be an exhausting BFF! They do look almost like sisters already.
  4. I don't get why Huma Abedin is suddenly all over KYV. Adrienne Elrod either, but Elrod is a hardcore Democratic foot soldier so whatever she does, she gets a pass from me. Maggie McGrath is of course from Forbes.
  5. So it's happened. KVY met Dr Jill Biden. Flanking Minka are Huma Abedin, Maggie McGrath and Adrienne Elrod. Expect to hear about it all morning!
  6. I have no idea but at 51 either you're adopting a baby or creating a baby with a donor egg. If you don't carry the baby yourself (I know a couple early 50s women who have carried, but not everyone can) it's donor egg + surrogate so your surrogate is birthing the baby, so either way you get handed the baby.
  7. I even had this feeling in 2008, that the US could overcome anything! Yours sounds more amazing of course. It's been quite a hit to realize things aren't far from disaster at all really.
  8. Lol I know; the show is 4 hours and they're on LESS! Neat trick.
  9. No he wasn't! It was Mika, Lemire, Katty, and a few other regulars.
  10. I've found msnbc to be doing a hmm now more decent job showing different victims, different perspectives and different people in the complex and terrible Israel-Gaza war. There is one character who has been on a few times and to me seems like he's doing a poor job like "acting" almost, and he has not impressed me, high on the drama and attitude. ...I was shocked that Nicolle Wallace didn't react to him! Didn't challenge him at all. Just told him she wished his college age daughter a safe trip somewhere or something. I was floored...I've come to expect her to be a lot better than that, it's her job to push back, at least question people. Wtf? Same guy comes on this morning and the gang, starting with MIKA of all freaking people, and ending with Elise I think, all give him tough but fair questions, even followed up on a couple of things he said. And this time the guy wasn't nearly as snotty/brash, and he was dancing a lot faster as the heat was turned up. I had thought he must be scary or something when NW was so mousy and such a doormat with him but all it took was them being unwilling to take it. I mean again freaking MIKA of all people took the reins here! I haven't been so impressed in years! Mika and MJ, good job. And I guess as a viewer I shouldn't have to be so grateful to see the fourth estate doing its job but in a world where MJ can be lacking, glad they decided to show up and pay attention today.
  11. I'm pretty sure it's Nicolle Wallace he likes, he acts like such a buffoon around her 🙄 Never been a Heileman fan. LOL Kemper, I thought you said he was checking MIKA out. I just went back to your comment and realized you said he WAS check out. Oh good grief 😂

It's not even been a week and I hope some of these anchors are getting their footing back and getting over their shock. I know it's early days...but still, I've found some surprises. I admire anchors and journalists who don't let powerful guests get away with things and run rampant. Ali Velshi had been perfect, didn't miss a beat, he's as good as ever. And you know who I've been amazed by? Katy Tur. Tur hasn't been letting ANYONE get away with ANYTHING, she's going hard on everyone; I always thought she was excellent but but I've been just floored by her this week. I've found Rachel and Alex to both do well, as I expected. Nicolle is typically snarky and funny, she's one of my favorites normally. Oof though, she was drained of her spark this week. International news could be out of her wheelhouse, that's fair. But worse, today she had on a slimy politician who was doing a bad job looking like he was acting out a part, and all I could think was how *cowardly* NW seemed around him. Absolutely smh. She got better back in her comfort zone with Lawrence Tribe, on afterwards. Stephanie Ruhle seems the same. She's mostly interviewing family of kidnapped Israelis and sharing their stories. Maybe some are finding their equilibrium and will gear up and do better. I hope so. In the mean time, I may switch my daily show to Katy's hour.
  13. I side-eyed that guy years before trump with his after-midnight commercials of him screeching "IT TOOK ME TWO YEARS TO INVENT THIS PILLOW!" I've been really over MJ lately.
  14. I believe Alicia Menendez worked for Christiane Amanpour for years. I think she paid her dues from what it sounds like. She must be so PO'd at her dad!
  15. Chris Matthews is so oblivious it's obnoxious. He never stops talking. I was in and out of the room and unloading this dishwasher etc and he was talking all the time no matter what. I was trying to picture Katty Kay or something else just never shutting up and I came up blank. The other guests and guest-hosts (like Katty) get a couple of paragraphs worth of speaking time max! He needs a hook to pull him off the show. ETA: ok I kind of regret this comment, in light of all the other garbage going on recently...ie David Ignacious, I am so thoroughly disgusted! There's more but I think I've blocked it out.
  16. https://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/09/fashion/09JoeMika.html It was 2010. You should be able to find it. I mean I get what you're saying, you want to be able to have the fun show now, but in case you want to look these things up 🤷‍♀️ Around Aug.30 2012 is the drunk at the Elephant Bar day. You can always DM me and I can send you the little video I have of it. It's all I have but I'll share it! Sorry for ALL the posts everyone, as I took a walk down MJ memory lane but that was fun!
  17. I remember when it seemed they were drunk the morning after a WHCD (2011/2013-ish?) but to me that seemed like a stunt. One Christmas special when they were wearing pajamas got pretty wacky too. Fair comment re:pharmaceuticals but it's happened to me just seemingly out of the blue, like in a computer class and remembering a line from a movie, not even that funny, no drugs involved. I just couldn't stop!

What does Nicolle do to get on your last nerve? Is it her silliness or like the hair shaking? Neither bother me, just curious! (fwiw if someone has on a shirt that is not symmetrical I can't look at the screen for long, not judging! 😂)
  19. ETA2: furries was Dec.8 2014 Kemper! For the furries clip however you can find that clip on YouTube if you just Google "Mika Brzezinski discovers furries" 😊 that was really cute too.
  20. It was not the furries! It was a David Letterman clip where he pretended instead of the the The Mary Tyler Moore Show it was Dick Cheney, same stylized letters and song. It was actually in really poor taste in hindsight, but I can SO relate to the inappropriate laughter at really the wrong time! Also, wasn't there two clips about furries where Mika lost it? That/those were funny too. ETA: sorry about your iPad! If it helps you need to skip over (like swipe) all the time until 7:31 and just watch that. She's still laughing like 25m later!
  21. https://archive.org/details/MSNBC_20110404_100000_Morning_Joe/start/5460/end/5520 April 4th, 2011 at 7:31am. One of the best MJ memories IMHO.

Nick Confessori (spelling?) is a very handsome dude for sure but he does look very young. Harry Litwin is AWESOME, he never shies away from giving his opinion even as a lawyer! I compare him to Ari Melber who speaks in very measured ways as a lawyer and don't get me wrong, Ari Melber seems so very intelligent and his style typical of a lawyer?? But Harry's style is wild and confident and he just cheerfully goes off on Nicolle Wallace's show and he's just great 😂
  23. Friends! I DVR D:WH as well as Morning Joe and The 11th Hour. That way I don't miss anything. The October 9, 2020 episode of Nicolle's show had me in stitches, the things she said and the jokes her guests made, it was so funny I didn't delete it and watched it a few times. Six months later I lost everything on the PVR. I discovered that there is something called the Internet Archive, and you can watch any show on it, albeit only a minute at a time but it's still amazing. I'm going to try to find the episode where Mika was laughing for literally 15 minutes. It was hilarious and I remember trying to show my grandma the Mary Tyler Moore/Dick Cheney joke, and she was like, "it was ok but I really like that lady who couldn't stop laughing!" 😂 oh my gosh it was so funny. She was all "Staaaap!" and hitting Joe and he kept bugging her. Anyway, just wanted to share this resource I found, if anyone wants to look for old MJ episodes!

Anyone have really silly msnbc crushes? I'll go first! Chuck Rosenburg, Howard Dean (2004 Howard Dean really), Neal Katyal, a few more ugh, and a girlcrush on Ruth Ben-Ghiat 😂
  25. She's unflappable. I like her too. Never seen her on Morning Joe, she's far too serious or something. I said this before and I only mean it like a compliment...Katy Tur seems like she's 500 years old. She is my definition of an "old soul".
