  1. Even with all the deserved criticisms, “ ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas” is still my favorite. The music is amazing, and it has cartoon mice and clocks. Those are two of my favorite things.
  2. I knew Niles wasn’t actually gay because of his affair with Maxwell’s former nanny, but his character still hits a lot of the “ sassy gay friend” tropes.
  3. Definitely. But still the writers never committed to it until the end, which was why things felt so rushed IMO. I know I sound like a “ hater,” and I don’t mean to. I just have criticisms about the writing.
  4. The Fran and Mr. Sheffield will they/won’t they definitely dragged on for too long. It probably should’ve been resolved by the end of season 4. Tbh, I never really felt the romantic chemistry between Niles and CC. Perhaps I could have if it had been developed more, but as it was I just didn’t see the sparks.
  5. I didn’t even hate it. It just felt like the writers didn’t want to commit to it until the very end, so them getting married and having a baby felt thrown together.
  6. I honestly never liked the Niles and CC romance. I don’t think it was developed enough.
  7. True. I just think there’s a happy medium that writers usually don’t find.
  8. Definitely agreed about the teenage years and having no clue about the middle years, but I think most writers miss the mark on little kids as well. Most of them are written as far wiser and more precocious than the average 4 year-old for example.
  9. I hate to defend this silly show, but my high school definitely had Prom before finals.
  10. How old was Erica even supposed to be? Part of what made her annoying was that she looked 12 but acted 8.
  11. I thought this was a lot of fun.
  12. Even now I have mixed feelings about the Sam and Diane story line. I agree with you that them not ending up together was more realistic, but I often like some wish-fulfillment in my sitcoms.
  13. I think it helps that their feelings for each other were very clearly mutual. Professionalism would be a separate argument, though. But I loved that chemistry.
  14. This bugs me too. I think even top 25% might be a reach. I had an A+ average and was still only in the top 13%. And my high school was just a regular public school and not fancy like West Beverly supposedly was.
  15. I definitely would have benefitted from a prep course. Luckily I got accepted to the college I wanted anyway, but I still have some regrets.
  16. I would’ve been, but I was absolutely awful on standardized tests. I got really good grades, but you’d never know it from my test scores. Just sharing a different perspective.
  17. I know this will be trashy, but I still have the urge to watch it.
  18. I thought it was interesting because I hadn’t really followed that case.
  19. The actor is straight for what it’s worth, though. He’s been married to a Broadway actress since 2012, and they have a daughter together.
  20. Well, the son insisted it was his. He would’ve been branded as a pedophile forever in the court of public opinion even if it was later discovered that the porn wasn’t his.
  21. It’s still on Hulu. I just checked.
  22. They do near the end of “ What Else Can I Do?”
  23. Paula and her husband had a very similar fight in a previous episode, so it didn’t seem that sudden to me. Different strokes and all that.
  24. I knew you didn’t think he was actually 16. Ha ha. But I looked it up because I was curious.
