I'll say it until I'm blue in the face but if Sidney ever goes out of her way to be involved in one of these killing sprees I will wash my hands of the entire franchise. She's too smart for that and if they would have had her hop on a plane to go to NY I'd scream (pun only kind of intended). Scream 6 wasn't great but it was better than 5 so we're headed in the right direction. I liked the twist on the opening kill. Chad got pin cushioned last movie and this movie and survived somehow. And will have no long term effects from it. Dewey had a limp after one attack but apparently plot armor has had some refinement over the last 20 years. I knew as soon as Quinn mentioned her brother that she was Richie's sister. I found it very odd that no one ever questioned the men that Quinn had in the apartment while they were trying to avoid Ghostface. Everyone was just like "oh yeah Quinn's just loudly fucking some random in the next room.

Those boring himbos that keep showing up come to mind…Griffin, Chase, Maxie’s dead husband whose name I can’t remember… The casting for the young adults has been knocked out of the park though, Tabyana took the ball running and made Trina into a compelling young heroine with crazy chemistry with Nicholas Chavez, who is destined for either major stardom or years of repeat Emmys for GH. And as much of a mess Esme and her story her Avery Pohl is outstanding, I hope they do more to keep Esme around without sugarcoating her crimes.

I've only gotten back into watch the show over the last month and could identify everyone. I'll be a positive voice of descent, I think the photo looks great! And they included who they could, they hit on all the important people (minus Leslie Charleston who couldn't be there for personal reasons) and I think the composition is pretty damn good considering they had to juggle 40+ cast members.

I have a LOT of thoughts about this movie but I just need to say that our introduction to Talokan is one of most beautiful sequences I’ve ever seen. Utterly breathtaking.

I know Hawkeye isn't the most popular Avenger online but he was a big part of Endgame and an actual Avenger in the Avengers movies, unlike everyone else that got a show (Wanda and Sam were Avengers but not part of the core 6). I'm sure there's a large swath of the general public who wanted to check out his show.

I agree, I don't think the movie's intention was to say "Hey abuela apologized, it's all good now". They're clearly still a lot of healing to do. I was commenting on the discourse I've seen elsewhere about the movie.

I can see how badly Alma's trauma effected her but all of these people screaming Generational Trauma and thinking that a singular sincere apology makes up for decades of mental abuse are something else. She mistreated her own grandchild and ruled the casita with such an iron fist that her own children and grandchildren couldn't even discuss their own brother/uncle. He was exiled from the family and had to live in the walls for a decade! And this happened when he was 40! That said I don't think she's evil at all (and agreed there are much worse parents in the Disney canon). She was absolutely doing what she thought was best for herself and her family but I refuse to excuse bad behavior just because you're dragging around trauma on your back. @SlovakPrincess I didn't love the majority of the songs either. 'Bruno' and 'Dos Oruguitas' (I was a mess at the end) were the highlights for me (and I know people love 'Surface Pressure' but it hurts my ears).

I have a lot of feelings about this movie. I've grown up with the Scream franchise, the first one came out when I was 13 and it's one of the few series of films where I can watch them over and over and not get bored (not you, Scream 3). Scream 4 to me is the beautiful love letter to the first one this one (5cream) tried to be. Unfortunately Scream 2022 did not hit the mark. And I think a lot of that comes down to who they cast as the lead, Melissa Barrera. She's beautiful, lovely but not a good actress, comes across as terribly inauthentic onscreen. I don't know who decided she should be the new lead but it was a mistake, especially when Jenna Ortega is right there, who was fantastic. And putting her next to Neve who has a very natural screen presence. I just don't think this movie will stand up to rewatches. The reveal of the killers was rather lame, it felt very paint by numbers, this is a series where the killer reveals are my favorite part! I meeeeeean Billy and Stu, Mrs. Loomis, Jill Roberts, all of those reveals were fantastic sequences where I was completely engrossed. I just felt sort of deflated after this one.

The cut of the trailers and the music reminds me a lot of the BP marketing.

Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel: The Marvels is a little much. It's called "Celebrating the Movies" so yes lol. I think it's about them wanting Brie Larson to "know her place" and shut up. These lunatics built a whole narrative about Don Cheadle hating her based on body language. They hate that she's outspoken about politics and social justice.

Monica and Kamala, note that both of their emblems are in the title. Looks like they'll all be co-leads. Very exciting.

Thanks @Chicago Redshirt. I completely missed that they'd lost. This movie very hard to pay attention. Mostly because every time the action got going it slowed down. I just don't understand it. Slow motion loses all impact when you use it every 20 minutes! The fact that most of what was removed from the 2017 release is Cyborg's story feels very pointed. No wonder the movie felt so disjointed, the plot basically hinged on Cyborg's involvement and character development!

As I told my friend, this was better but certainly not good. 40% of the runtime was slo-mo musical interludes. It just felt self-indulgent. This man needs an editor. While beautiful and the best scene of the entire 4 hour slog, I have no clue what Barry was doing during that amazing scene where he was...traveling back in time through space, I think? Can someone enlighten me?

But eventually they have to. Not doing the X-Men is leaving billions of dollars on the table. And I'm infinitely grateful it won't be the Fox X-Men. I like that it's (apparently) going to be a slow rollout. Not Wanda whispering "more mutants" and suddenly Wolverine pops up to shank someone. I always thought that was stupid. Since Feige likes to stick fairly close to the comics I actually hope we get a movie with the first 5 students. Even if it's the 5 kids meeting the second class so we get to Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, etc. faster.

I wish that was easier to read. I almost want to be mad about these story turns but it feels very...DC. This is a full on Imaginary Story. DC loves rebooting their universe and telling Elseworld stories (I'm not saying Marvel doesn't, DC just does it every 3 years it seems). Turning the characters on their head is sort of their brand at this point. But they started doing this after decades of established history. You can't dive head first into Bruce and Lois having a baby! Nothing matters without a baseline. Since MOS they've taken for granted the public interpretation of Superman, not caring about building up the movie version to be that guy who stands for truth, justice, etc. Now they're taking for granted the shocking revelation that Lois Lane had Bruce Wayne's baby...but I don't care about either of these characters because I don't know them.

"What is grief, if not love persevering?" Wow okay, Vision constantly dropping gems. That hit me hard. Also Kathryn Hahn in one episode has established herself as a top tier MCU villain.

In no world would Bob Iger prioritize Ryan Reynolds or Deadpool's box office over Kevin Feige and the MCU's multi-billionaire dollar cash cow.

Good. It doesn't need to be. It'll be better for it. As much as I enjoy the home puns I hope we're done with the "home" stuff after this movie.

I thought about that too. They had no problem murdering a doctor but Marla's death needed to look accidental? And I don't understand what the mafia guys were trying to accomplish by Fran's death look accidental either. You're mafia, you make people disappear all the time.
