    S02. E15. Ocean's 9-1-1

As far as I understood, he needed a distraction, so he dosed the armored car guy. Then when they both started convulsing, they had to treat the scene like a potential nerve gas attack. The complication was Hen rushing into to help him, so he had to dose her too.

    S01.E19 Happy Place

There is a HUGE VA hospital in Brooklyn that does indeed have oncology and urology services. I have to admit, the story with the two wives got to me. I'm not fully deaf, but I have significant hearing loss, although my problem is due to anatomy, not the actual nerve. And I function okay with my hearing aids. I've considered a cochlear implant from time to time, but it would destroy my residual hearing, and like the deaf wife, I don't really want it to change the way I interact with the world. Iggy, it's okay to counter-transfer, we all do it. But perhaps don't seek it out like that? Honestly, Bloom can stay gone. She's off in the same happy place with Max's wife, and it doesn't matter. Candelario is a much better.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Is that...Gamera? Friend to all children?
  4. I don't know if documentaries should go here or not, but this a perspective on queer life that we should have gotten a lot sooner.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

I'm not pro-Sith here, but IMO, the Jedi Order we met in Phantom Menace was stagnant, aloof, and didn't seem to be engaging in their stated role of being the guardians of the peace. I thought they needed to be shaken up. Massacred, no.

    Captain Marvel (2019)

Repeating my early comment about how even though Carol had nothing to prove to us, she did it anyway.

    Avengers: Endgame (2019)

I think I'm going to bow out of the thread now. Except to say that it affecting people emotionally is the most encouraging thing I've heard. "Bury me in the ocean," "We are Groot," "I thought you already had [found your family]," "Are you the God of Hammers," "I have nothing to prove to you," "I don't want to go"...that's why I've stuck around for ten years. See everybody on Saturday.
  8. The AV Club ranks all 22 MCU movies. I disagree with a lot of it. GotG v2 should be higher, Ragnarok should be a bit lower, and I would move First Avenger out of the top ten to shift Captain Marvel into it. I still think it's one of their strongest origin stories.

    S01.E18: Five Miles West

My public hospital usually forgives insurance denials, at least for inpatient services. Granted, I work in mental health, which requires huge fights with insurance companies to get more than about five days approved. If insurance cuts off, the remainder is forgiven, particularly for the most indigent patients, of which, at a county hospital, we have a lot. We also have a really, really good department that helps people who don't have insurance--for whatever reason--get emergency Medicaid.

    What Are We Currently Reading?

While I confess that I'm doing it in audiobook format, I have started, at last, NK Jemisin's Hugo-winning Fifth Season. It has been a very, very long time since a fantasy novel grabbed me this quickly. I can see why each of the books in the series ended up winning the Hugo. I wish it had been HBO, Netflix, or Amazon who had ended up grabbing the TV rights, but TNT did a nice job with The Alienist, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

    Box Office

It's also about to match Wonder Woman's domestic total, which surprises me.

S02.E14: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part II

Kurtzman also gave a very brief synopsis. I don't know why both would lie about it.

    Chicago Med in the Media

If you'd told me this was going to happen in S1, I would have been heartbroken, but honestly, I'm so sick of Conner, I can't see this as any great loss.

Yeoh gave an interview about it recently. It's going to start production after Disco S3.

House Calls - The Cast in Other Roles

So, Anthony Edwards is playing the judge in the forthcoming Law & Order: True Crime - The Menendez Brothers. I can't remember being in front of the camera for a long time, so good for him. What's interesting is that Eric and Lyle's father, Jose, is being played by Carlos Gomez, who played Raul.

I won't be surprised if we get a Pike on the Enterprise movie or miniseries.

    Special

Very cool concept. Very little promotion that I've seen. Drops on April 12th.

Yes. It begins filming in July.

S02.E14: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part II

To me, the most Star Trek thing there is involves seeing a group of different people working together to solve a problem. We had Discovery, the Enterprise, Po, the Kelpians and Ba'ul, the Klingons...

I didn't understand why they had to make do with the paper maps. I mean, even if their computers were down, they probably all have phones with Google Maps.

    X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)

This one's better. But I still don't think it's a "rush to the theater" movie for me.

    S02.E14: Broken

I loved watching Chim Marie Kondo his wardrobe. I went through and did that myself last week, although I have no patience to fold the survivors into such an organized fashion.

    Box Office

    Ouch.

House Calls - The Cast in Other Roles

SVU and ER also shared Neil Baer as an executive producer. I believe that had a lot to do with Mariska Hargitay being cast on the former. John Cullum appeared on the show a lot. His character become a judge eventually. I'm not sure if he's still showing up, because the man is almost 90. He was still working as of a few years ago, which is remarkable.

Sierra Burgess is a Loser (2018)

Do we put Netflix movies here? If not, I apologize profusely. Anyway, given the flak they got for Insatiable, this looks like...not that at all.
