S02.E14: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part II

I won't be surprised if we get a Pike on the Enterprise movie or miniseries.

    Special

Very cool concept. Very little promotion that I've seen. Drops on April 12th.

Yes. It begins filming in July.

S02.E14: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part II

To me, the most Star Trek thing there is involves seeing a group of different people working together to solve a problem. We had Discovery, the Enterprise, Po, the Kelpians and Ba'ul, the Klingons...

    S02.E14: Broken

I didn't understand why they had to make do with the paper maps. I mean, even if their computers were down, they probably all have phones with Google Maps.

    X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)

This one's better. But I still don't think it's a "rush to the theater" movie for me.

    S02.E14: Broken

I loved watching Chim Marie Kondo his wardrobe. I went through and did that myself last week, although I have no patience to fold the survivors into such an organized fashion.

House Calls - The Cast in Other Roles

So, Anthony Edwards is playing the judge in the forthcoming Law & Order: True Crime - The Menendez Brothers. I can't remember being in front of the camera for a long time, so good for him. What's interesting is that Eric and Lyle's father, Jose, is being played by Carlos Gomez, who played Raul.

House Calls - The Cast in Other Roles

SVU and ER also shared Neil Baer as an executive producer. I believe that had a lot to do with Mariska Hargitay being cast on the former. John Cullum appeared on the show a lot. His character become a judge eventually. I'm not sure if he's still showing up, because the man is almost 90. He was still working as of a few years ago, which is remarkable.

Sierra Burgess is a Loser (2018)

Do we put Netflix movies here? If not, I apologize profusely. Anyway, given the flak they got for Insatiable, this looks like...not that at all.

    New Game Announcements and Trailers

If this is just the Star Wars version of Uncharted, and not something where i have to buy a loot box every five minutes, I'm good.

I really liked it too. I was kind of annoyed that the episodes were so short, but it made it an easy binge. Plus, since it is kind of niche, it probably wasn't a huge investment for Netflix (I'm sure the copious Microsoft product placement also helped), so that probably makes the pressure to get Stranger Things-like ratings less.

S02E13: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part I

No, they were just standing around on the bridge to pay their respects in the planned detonation of Discovery.
  15. Clint is the Hawkeye of the Ultimate universe. Lance Hunter from Agents of SHIELD was the Hawkeye of the 616 universe.

    The Lion King (2019)

I think this is the right release year. There's nothing official, but a bunch of casting news has started dropping. First it was Donald Glover as Simba, and just a few seconds ago, Jon Favreau dropped a comment on Twitter that James Earl Jones will again be Mufasa. Am I incredibly excited about this? Yes I am.

    The Dropout

It's based on the story of Elizabeth Holmes and her fake blood testing company Theranos, which was featured in the incredibly well-received book Bad Blood, a podcast, and an HBO documentary. All three cover the story, but this is based specifically on the podcast.

S02E13: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part I

Weirdly, I would ordinarily complain about that being dramatic dead air, but given that Disco's status as a streaming show giving them more time for the episode to breathe, and that it was a nice moment, it didn't bother me. Particularly Tilly telling her mother that she was proud of herself, even if her mother wasn't proud of her.

S02E13: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part I

It seems to only act to preserve itself. It won't allow itself to be deleted and won't allow the ship to be destroyed, but doesn't have a problem with the plan to take it into the future. There's Tilly/Po slashfic being written as I type this, right?

It wasn't Control, it was the sphere data that seems to have some level of sentience.

Boy, did I enjoy that. I really hope they keep Nahn next season. I mean, Reno can only be there as Tig Notaro's schedule allows, but I'd love it if we could keep the other big addition to the team this season, since Pike has to go back to the Enterprise. Speaking of, boy, did the Enterprise bridge look gorgeous in HD.

Has Kate McKinnon done dramatic work before?

    S01.E17 Sanctuary

We've definitely seen her before. I don't think she's ever gotten a name before, though. I really liked the moment when the elevator door closed, and she was on her own. It was nice seeing her having faith in herself.
  24. Also, five years ago, a lot of people would have said that about GotG, and we saw how that turned out.
