  1. C is for Classified by the Navy as a friendly port, which Dorothy said of Blanche.
  2. U is for Uncle Sam, who made Rose feel rejected.
  3. Q is for Butter Queen, who, according to Blanche, was so good in Gone With The Wind.
  4. N is for Nancy Reagan. Ronald married her instead of Broderick Crawford.
  5. F is for Fess Parker, whom Dorothy resembled on film.
  6. Oops, looks like we missed W. W is for Wilfred Cheswick, who broke off his pursuit of Sophia when he found out she wasn't a wealthy widow.
  7. This has to be Rod Man's to lose, right? He's not my favorite but I feel like he's had it sewn up for weeks now.
  8. R is for Raymond, whose relationship with Dorothy ended because she couldn't say no to Sophia tagging along.
  9. I totally agree. Today they aired the episode where the bratty little boy says something along the lines of, "Isn't that outfit a little young for you?" to Blanche, and Dorothy agrees. I don't see it. I also don't agree with Sophia when she says (on more than one occasion) that Blanche looks like a prostitute. If that's true, then hookers must have been a lot more demure back in the day.
  10. O is for Opposite Side of the Street Parking, the issue that nearly tore St. Olaf apart.
  11. L is for Lorraine, who kicked her husband Michael out. I assume that means the relationship was broken. :)
  12. G is for Gloria, who slept with Stan and subsequently damaged her relationship with Dorothy.
  13. C is for Dr. Clayton, who temporarily broke up the friendship between Dorothy and Blanche.
  14. B is for Dorothy's broken friendship with Barbara Thorndike.
  15. I thought it might be fun to have a thread devoted to discussing the other films/shows in which we've seen Golden Girls performers appear. I just caught Summer Stock for the first time and immediately recognized Eddie Bracken, who played Buzz. (Some little part of me wanted to go, "Whooooop!") Recently I also caught a couple of episodes of Maude for the first time, and Bea Arthur looked so different. Does anyone know if she lost a significant amount of weight between Maude and GG, or if it was just the awful 70's styling that made her look heavier?
  16. U is for Unattractive, which sometimes Blanche was as a child, and sometimes she was a beautiful child.
  17. Q is for quarrel, which is what the girls would do at the drop of a hat by taking the side of a stranger (Holly, Dr. Eliot Clayton) over the word of a long-time roommate and supposed good friend. It wasn't really a show inconsistency, but it felt like a character inconsistency.
  18. GG lost me right off the bat when he started out with fat jokes about Nikki, which I found to be lazy. (And I'm not even particularly sensitive about that kind of thing.) Actually, I'm ok with it as long as it means he wears those glasses again. The rest of the time I've found his face a little too gaunt to be handsome, but for some reason with the glasses...wow.
  19. ^ I have absolutely no idea, but every time I see that nickname the "Sobbin' Women" song from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers pops into my head. And it only just occurred to me that that's an apt description for this little harem.
  20. The one in red is one of Christine's. (Either Gwendlyn or Ysabel, I get those two names mixed up.)
  21. I is for St. Olaf being the cradle of Idiocy. The "woman of the year" committee and maybe Cousin Sven fit that "special" St. Olaf mode, but Rose's mother and sisters seemed pretty normal.
  22. G is for the Garage, which would have been in the way of the bedrooms on the right side of the hall, and is actually at the front of the house in the exterior views of the house.
  23. E is for Elizabeth Ann Bennet, which is Blanche's mother's name, except for when it's Samantha Rocquet.
  24. Oh wow, I'm flattered. The next time y'all find yourselves in my cult de sac, come on over and I'll make pastries on the wet bar.
  25. Meri: At one point, Janelle, Christine, and I were pregnant at the same time. Robyn: (shoulder punching Kody) Nice job, bud! Me: *vomit*
