  1. I have a crazy theory as to how Quinn could end up alive and not a head of cabbage. It requires reaching the conclusion that Dar is an evil puppet master and perhaps in league with Durring. He wants Quinn dead and he wants Carrie to euthenize him. Here's how I get there: 1. We are reminded a number of times that Quinn ends up at a U.S. military hospital (which in actuality is not close to Berlin at all) - there is an exterior establishing shot of the hospital which includes its name and Carrie names the hospital when she's trying to wake him up. They're not in some third world country - Germany has a fine health care system. Why isn't he at "Berlin Memorial" where they took Alison. Trauma centers at hospitals in major cities that might be the subject of a terrorist attach would be prepared to treat victims of sarin. 2. All we (or Carrie and Saul) know about Quinn's condition comes from doctors who work for the US military. A higher up at the CIA like Dar could instruct the doctors to tell a civilian (Carrie) and a lower ranking CIA agent (Saul) that Quinn has a serious hematoma and will probably die and if he lives he will have major brain damage. He looked pretty good for someone who just had hours long brain surgery (I will admit this is a common problem in TV shows). 3. Dar tells Carrie that Quinn being in a vegetative state would be his "worst nightmare" and gives her Quinn"s sad and fatalistic letter while he was still alive, which I'm sure is not protocol. Dar could easily have read the letter before he gave it to Carrie or even substituted a different letter. All we know is the envelope is the one Quinn had in the Season 4 finale. 4. Quinn is conveniently is a private room with just a pulse ox monitor. He is breathing unassisted and is not on any sort of life support - not even an IV! Carrie would have to actually kill him - no just "pull the plug". 5. If Carrie does kill Quinn and Dar knows she did it, he has major leverage over her. It would be considered murder in the US and I bet in Germany as well. 6. What is Quinn trying to say to Carrie when they wake him up? Maybe Quinn figured out Dar was up to something and is trying to tell Carrie. It doesn't seem like he would know where the attack was going to take place - the terrorists weren't discussing their plans in front of him. Also, he seemed to be saying more than "train station" which would have answered the question. I haven't figured out why Dar would want Quinn dead and Carrie neutralized and not working for the CIA but there are a lot of possibilities. It would explain why he seemed so clueless all season (which isn't like him) and why he was in Berlin and not Langley. Dar's story about recruiting Quinn at 16 and him being pretty enough to turn heads, reveals how he basically turned a teenaged foster child into an assassin and perhaps, as has been mentioned, pimped him out! Dar has always been somewhat ruthless and unprincipled so it wouldn't be surprising. If he is somehow working with Durring, it might explain some of his odd and inconsistent behavior. Please take potshots at these theories!!!
  2. I'm wondering about all the church/religion references this season. I think one of the first scenes of Carrie in episode 1 was her in a Catholic Church and she has a couple of meetings in churches during the season. In the finale she goes to the hospital chapel after she hears about Quinn's dire prognosis. That scene has the weird light effect as well as the young girl looking back at her. The last scene in Quinn's room is ambiguous - it could be the "golden light" is God essentially killing Quinn so Carrie doesn't have to or maybe it indicates he will miraculously recover. I Quinn dies so Carrie doesn't have to euthanize him (whether as his last "gift" to her or by some divine intervention) we get into some really strange supernatural/spiritual kind of stuff. If he lives and recovers and Carrie thinks its because of her prayers, her ego may be even more out of control!
  3. I don't really compare Castle to TGW but I can compare it to The Mentalist and one thing I come away with is that even though they both have flaws, I think the writers/showrunner of The Mentalist have done a better job with the relationship between the main characters. The two shows began at about the same time (2208) and at the begining I thought I'd enjoy Castle more. I was not really familiar with the actors from either show before although I knew of Nathan from friends who were fans of Firefly. I liked Castle's character and looks more than Patrick Jane's (blond men remind of my brother!) and thought both Beckett and Lisbon were strong, interesting female cops. It was clear from the start of Castle that they would end up together and I thought season 1 Beckett would be an interesting challenge for a rich, famous, playboy author. But by season 3 Becket was a super model in high heeled boots who occasionally got to go badass with perps and Castle became more bumbling and childish. I have no idea how the actors on either show get along and don't really care. A competent actor should be able ACT like they like, love or hate anyone they are playing opposite. I also think"chemistry" is in the eyes of the beholder. I realize most of this has been said about Castle before but I think the point I wanted to make is that after watching the last short season of The Mentalist, I realized the difference for me is that I got the feeling everyone involved in that show cared about the story and the characters and I don't get that feeling at this point from Castle.
  4. I get that the family is all about being there for each other but Adam and Kristina and Crosby and Jasmine all showed up for Amber's not birth/gas pains. Who is watching their kids? Not Camille, Amber or Haddie I presume and hopefully not Max. Do they have sitters on call? Who watches Nora while Kristina beams at her snowflakes? I would love to have a TV kid because you can just leave them home alone and go do whatever you want!
  5. The whole Snowflake Academy is so absurd I can't even comment. I do find it funny that Adam and Kristina have some kind of invisible child care for Nora. Where was she when they went with Max to cajole the Jones into not withdrawing Dylan fro the SA? Zeke and Camille live in SF now and Sarah and Julia seemed otherwise occupied. Did they leave a toddler home alone? They really are the best parents ever!
  6. The sun does not set over the water in the Hamptons which face east and south so the whole ocean sunset wedding is a California concept.
  7. What's with the Mini-Cooper bashing? Its bad enough when they plug their sponsor's cars but randomly bashing another company's car for no real reason. Very tacky.
  8. Does no one who writes for this show have any idea about New York City neighborhoods? 833 West End Avenue (address writen on scrap of paper in dead scateboarder's pocket) is in the Upper West Side - no where near the West Village (where Becket said he was staying after looking at the scrap of paper)!
