  1. Eh, I don't think that's quite true. Image matters so much to them--at if the DAR is trowing the "it" event of the year, the Huntzberger's would certianly want to be there.
  2. In reality, the Hartford DAR isn't a big thing but it certianly is in the reality of the show.
  3. It surprises me that people have strong feelings one way or the other on the WitS scene! I kinda saw it has the kind of stupid debate we would have in my common room my freshman year of college, nothing earth-shattering. I also think Logan was supposed to have a 1930's screwball comedy vibe, which I think Matt Czurchy really nails a lot of the time, but totally misses here.
  4. I semi-agree with some of this, disagree strongly with some. The "raiding the Gilmore’s home and indiscriminately hauling away boxes of items" is a huge exaggeration, I think. Rory asked them to come over and they cleaned out the closet they thought she pointed to without question. Lacking in logic? Certainly. But it wasn't larceny. Coming to help a friend move out is not an example of them feeling above authority. There's no defense for stealing the sewing box other than it's supposed to be a stupid harmless prank (that in this case quickly became not harmless). It's just dumb. I will say that I personally don't get why the fandom tends to jump on that more than any of Jess's thefts, but that's for another thread. The stealing the yacht, while Logan certianly went along with it, was Rory's idea. Bad influences or not, Rory was her own person who made her own choices on that one. I think the biggest failure of season 5 is one of the overall writing of the show. By the time we got to season 5, the show was pretty committed to the basic money = bad, poor = good idea (in a general sense) and the audience was made not to like Richard and Emily's "world". Then in season 5 they decided they wanted Rory to explore the more fun side of money (as per the You Jump, I Jump Jack commentary) and see that it can be almost like a superpower, that it can be fun, etc. I think they were trying to write a "Rory realizes there's more to these people"-type storyline but they never really developed the characters outside of Logan. We barely know anything about those characters--which is why it's hard for me to have an opinion on them other than appreciating Finn's one liners and thinking they're pretty harmless.
  5. Pretty sure that is all based on IMDb which people just put in placeholder episodes for anyone who was announced as returning. We know there are 2 town meetings and they're in different episodes so I would bet we're seeing them all at a minimum in 2 episodes.
  6. Nope, we don't have any confirmation on their episode count. We know Taylor is in 3 but other than that we don't know how many episodes the townies are in.
  7. I think liking the LADB is an unpopular opinion, but I'm right there with you! I think they're pretty harmless and funny. I really do love Finn. Plus, I know a few people who were in societies similar to this and a friend of mine had a sister in Skull & Bones and honestly even in real life it's just basically a frat. I like season 5 (though I like, Logan, so I guess that's not too much of a surprise). I like that she liked a guy who didn't meet her and immediately want to be in a relationship with her. I liked that she tried casual dating and it went poorly--as is the case for many people in college, I found. But what I really liked was that after 1 night on the bathroom floor she immediately went to Logan and said she wasn't doing that anymore. I wish she had had the same "this isn't working out" attitude in season 6 (maybe after her birthday party? I just wish it was something she had realized on her own). For me the weakest episodes of the season are Tippecanoe and Taylor Too and We Got Us A Pippi Virgin. Too much Dean kills an episode for me at this point in the series.
  8. For real. A Logan-type irl would have way better clothes. For me the biggest is his suit at Rory's 21st birthday party--the sleeves are too long! It's not tailored! I second this wish list item. Get him in some fabulous suits. Honestly, get any of the male characters into a dope wardrobe with great suits and ties.
  9. Vanessa Marano was talking with Variety on the red carpet and she said much of April's life is discussed with family members at the dinner table...which brings me to a big hope of mine: that April is a lesbian. I really think that would be 1) a good way to bring some LGBT representation to the show and 2) fitting with April's character.
  10. I updated my spoiler masterpost with all the new info from the EW article, including links to scans.
  11. Richard mentions to Lorelai that Rory is set to receive her trust fund at 25 in 6.07, so it's totally possible that Rory has/is using that money.
  12. I'm mean, honestly the whole "Grandpa's money took us out of the running for financial aid" thing is silly because FAFSA and financial aid is based on the previous year's tax fillings. It wouldn't have been an issue until Rory's sophomore year. But this is Gilmore Girls, where finances are made up and logic doesn't matter.
  13. Eh, I don't know. You're not supposed to make any big decision or life change for (at least) a year after a loss like that (fittingly, until you've experienced all the seasons of your emotions). Plus, Emily didn't handle dating well when Richard was alive--I think it would be pretty out of character for her to jump into dating.
