  1. He would get Marilu Henner. She has so much dance experience and she's still in great shape. It's comical at this point.
  2. So far, I'm liking the casting. I don't know some of them but they seem like a good group. I was wondering about an Olympian too. Would they get a gymnast again? What about the show jumper? Someone who has made a mark on the Olympics. I took a pass on last season but I'm excited about this one. Will miss Tristan and Iveta. Iveta would have been great with Will Young.
  3. How dreadful. What is happening these days? Only 22. Truly awful.
  4. Big Girls Don't Cry? This is the most perplexing one of them all. It's so repetitive. Why? Could it be a mistake and she's singing the (absolutely awful) Fergie track of the same name? Bizarre. Jordan will butcher Queen. Looking forward to Dolly though. Woo!
  5. You are reading my mind Swedish Chef. Exactly what I was thinking. I was drifting off thinking about those velvet draped days of Rock Star. Good times... I'll admit, I nodded off during the show. I had to rewind to see what happened to the red-headed guy on Gwen's team. I slept through him. Oops. Amy was good, if a bit expected. Brandon was good, but it's not my thing. Doing "Hello" was a massive mistake. I quite like Regina but she was out of her depth on that one. Adia was painful to experience. I wish I'd slept through it. Please, Gwen I'm begging---stop straightening that kid's hair. It looks ridiculous.
  6. That battle of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" made me desperately miss Kim Wilde. Boy, I thought it stunk. They were both phrasing it so weirdly and awkwardly. It was bad. Krista Hughes really got screwed. She was very good and just had a tough song. She deserved to move on. I don't get the judges at all. Glad the montage showed Mady Davis getting through. She's one of the few I recall liking during the audition rounds.
  7. Really legaleagle? How inane. Why now, of all times? The BBC make some weird calls of late.
  8. The only one who stood out to me tonight was the girl Maddie who sang Carol King. There was something quite lovely about how she sang it and I thought she'd really listened to the song and understood the lyrics. Normally I get nervous when these high voiced girls come out with guitars but she proved me wrong. Everyone else....meh. The proposal was so fake. I wouldn't be surprised if those two have a youtube channel or something. They seemed very "on". Blech.
  9. I'm terrible, I was thinking she was pregnant last week. She does look a bit along.
  10. I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for me. I have to watch him!
  11. I do not understand who is voting for Scott. Truly, it baffles me. He isn't entertaining at all, not even in a I-wonder-how-weird-it-will-be kind of way like Judy. It's just bad every week, and frankly annoying.
  12. He is utterly lovely. Great interview, thanks ceebee.
  13. An up and down evening. Some real stinkers, some standouts, an Idiot From Abroad and the ouster of my favourite Irishman. In the good category, I really enjoyed Thom for the first time. He was relaxed and had some genuine personality shining through. Helps that he had such a great song in "New York, New York". Also liked Sunetra a great deal, she is so self assured and happy when she dances. It's very relaxing to watch her, you never get any tension or apprehension from her. She had great style and Brendan choreographed a terrific American Smooth. Also, thought Frankie/Kevin, Pixie/Trent and Caroline/Pasha were good. Caroline really commits to the dances. I wasn't a fan of hers before this show, but I might be coming round. I liked the mood of Jake's Waltz. It wasn't an expected one and it certainly was missing a lot of the expected movements of a Waltz, but I did enjoy it. I think these ballroom numbers are where we are going to see Janette's weaknesses shine through. Judy is just so stiff and tense. My friend commented that it's like she's never heard music before. He's right. She doesn't seem to hear it at all. Such a great song, such a wasted opportunity. But this is where I take issue with the Token Idiot we got saddled with this week. Donny Osmond has absolutely no business commenting on technique ever. Ever. He can talk performance but not technique. His stupid comment about Anton leading Judy throughout the dance----uh, yeah Donny---that's how it works! What a dope. I just wanted to reach through the TV and punch him. He wins one season of DwtS and he thinks he's Gene Kelly. Simon is getting lost in the middle. He isn't terrible but he needs some standout routine. Alison was never going to do a good Jive. It was so laboured and she barely danced. I think Alijaz did what he could, that's all there is to say about that one. Jennifer.....oh geez. She seems nice, but she needed to be good this week. The lip-synching was really distracting. I like ABBA, but that song was a terrible choice to dance a Foxtrot to---talk about getting the short end of the stick. Scott looked like a walking sunburn. That routine was just awful. I really question if Joanne is teaching him technique or just coaching him to be outrageous and "entertaining". He's frankly neither as far as I'm concerned. Cannot believe they are still there. I love Natalie, so I like Tim by association. Who am I forgetting? Oh right, Mark and Steve. Yup---pretty forgettable.
  14. Results show: Not really a surprise. Glad Tristan & Jennifer were saved. I cannot imagine who is voting for the DJ. He is truly awful. And not in a fun way, just in an awful way. Not really impressed with Joanne either. We lost Anya for her? I object. Loved the Alijaz/Iveta number. They are incredible together.
