I was wondering if Lucy's problem is that sex is painful for her. She is not only not looking at the cull, she is flinching. With Lord Moron and Lord Creepy, I can see why that would be a problem. I'm sure after a couple of painful experiences (especially if dry), it would be difficult to enjoy sex without having someone actually take the time to pleasure her for a change. I'm pretty sure the black harlot is one of Margarets. She was very excited to be moving to richer digs because there would be fatter purses to steal. Margaret only has 3 in house girls (not counting her daughters), the red head, Fanny and the black girl. The dominatrix is self-employed. Speaking of which, I loved the scene where she and Margaret were chatting at the party, and the dude was on all fours all tied up with some weird thing around his head. I think its a forgone conclusion someone is going to end up dead this season....any guesses? Which Harlot? Which Cull?

I thought Lucy was 14 or 16? No where near 18. I would guess Charlotte is 18-20. She is great at exuding the "mom, you're old and know nothing" attitude. The Irish guy is an aspiring male harlot - thus he is asking the most successful harlot he knows for tips, as well as having the hots for each other.

I swear, someone had to have edited that for Jill - when has she ever used "thus" in a sentence before? She sounds like she's trying to prove they are doing good work down there and answer our criticisms by pointing out all the times they are going out to interact with the people. What she just isn't getting is that our complaint is they aren't actually helping the people. They aren't building houses, upgrading utilities, showing useful skills - they're just speaking to them about their beliefs. For them, that is the same thing because they are saving their souls. D looks like he is admonishing those kids. If he really wants to get their interest, he should have them all be sitting on the floor - including him- and have some sort of visual aid, manipulative thing for them.

I never put shoes on my son until he was walking. I would put socks on him, but he would never keep them on. Spurge I think would look better with shoes, but they're little kids...barefoot is ok. - as long as they aren't letting him run around the parking lot or church barefoot.

You know, I lied to my parents a lot, but I never lied to my parents as much as these kids do. I also don't remember everyone being so shitfaced at parties. I'm pissed they killed off the only decent straight guy (besides clay).

I'm assuming that Bryce has a tape coming up. there are 4 tapes left...right (10, 11, 12, 13) She said there were going to be 3 stories about that night, but Justins' was first. I understand her inaction at the party, she seemed pretty drunk. We don't know how long after the party she killed herself - well, wait, its January in current time? Maybe Jessica blew her off later if Hannah approached her with a "are you okay...?" 4 stories left....Clay, Sherry (she did say she's on there right, that's why he freaked on her?), probably Bryce and....? Only guessing at this point, but I'm gonna say Mr. Porter. The kids who have listened to them all aren't very respectful to him, and he gets pretty jumpy about stuff concerning Hannah...though at this point all I see is a counselor who doesn't know how to cope with teenage angst very well. As for Clay taking it slow - after the first tape, I probably would have just listened to the beginning of each tape to find out if it was mine, than listened to mine, then gone back and listened to everyone elses. Those who were first would want to know who else was on there and what they did, so I could see speeding through them that way. I too want to know what Bryce has on Justin

These last couple of episodes I have become disappointed in myself. I didn't see what Zack did as all that terrible (it was... but he didn't slut shame her, or actually publically humiliate her), and I totally understand why Ryan did what he did - it was a great poem and he was hoping she would see that it would help people. Unfortunately, the teenage brains at the school only saw the "black panties" and "naked" parts and didn't actually read it for meaning like the English teacher was trying to get them to. Part of me is saying "suck it up Hannah." So far, the worst offenders are Justin (which was actually Bryce, but Justin went along and than just kept adding to it), Jessica, Alex, Courtney, the stalker (I can never remember his name) and Marcus. Did they change her method of suicide from book to movie? Would there be a reason why?

This is how far I am, so this is where I'll put my first thoughts. The principals comment about losing "2 students" perked my ears up too. I'm thinking that the timeline covers more than just their junior or senior year - like, starts whenever she moved here (sophomore year?) and than moves through to the final events when she is 17. I think Jessica and Alex were supposed to go to the dance, than broke up before hand, and the dance is where she first hooked up with Justin. I like how the guy Clay is tutoring doesn't seem to be an asshole (so far). I also like how they lead you to the next tape by either introducing or showing more of that character in the tape before (Justin to Jessica to Alex to stalker dude to Courtney to Marcus). I'm spit balling that Bryce is who finally sends Hannah over the edge - what power does he have over all his little minions? Want to read the book, wanted to read it before...I have it on hold for my kindle thru the library - I'm #15 on 1 copy!

Churchhoney: That was a very good explanation, I never thought of it that way. I'll try to be more...open minded in the future about their problems. The "praise Jesus" that gets me though are the ones like Josie - Our prayers to God saved her. Um...no....the jillion dollar NICU and its staff saved her. The medicine and Science used there saved her. I have a co-worker who used in-vitro to have her 2 kids, and constantly says it was through God's grace that she had them. That one REALLY gets to me. The way I see it, God was saying you can't have kids - you than went to a fertility specialist and used science to have children. While Jill may see her issues as tests from God, she needs to put forth some effort to overcome them, which is what I don't see. I keep hoping in the back of my mind that they really are helping those in DA, building houses, wells and stuff like that; they just are being humble and don't want it filmed or shown. I know that really isn't the case....but I keep hoping.

Nick was totally robbed. The is no way Charro, Mr. T, Bonner and David were better/as good as he was. I really enjoyed his dance. YOu could tell he was way more relaxed and having fun. I saw one or two mistakes, but nothing like the others. Sasha was pushing Simone around the floor. I don't know what Len was talking about, becuase that dance was not controlled. Nancy has got some hip action!

Well to do men would either buy or rent a house for their mistresses, or in some cases keep them in the house they already owned. The wife would be back on the family's country estate. Charlottes house didn't look very big, so I'm gonna say the guy bought or rented it for nefarious purposes. All staff are paid for by the patron, so unless the mistress makes a friend with her dresser or maid, everyone is going to report her goings on to the rich dude.

I enjoyed it. Margaret did admonish her girls to clean themselves, and you saw one taking a wet cloth to her nether regions. The perv going down on the one girl surprised me. Whenever they show a guy "pleasuring" a woman that way anytime before the 1940's just kind of squicks me out. It had to have been a smelly journey down there. The traitor harlots "none alive" comment about having children makes me wonder if she had abortions, or killed them when they were born, or if they died naturally. I missed it, how old is the youngest daughter?

I think Dan Stevens is doing in awesome job. He has got twitchy/snarky down pretty good. I'm thinking Syd is in his head too, really don't want her to be though. I"m far behind, got to catch up. I love the ambiguity of the era.

My parents in no way shape or form believe what the Ark is preaching, but they wanted to go, so my sister gave them tickets for Christmas. I'd like to go just so I can roll my eyes so hard they fall out of my head.

The Ark is not cheap. I think tickets are like $75 for adults! They had to have filmed or something, no way JimBoob would pay that much.

In the comparison pics: Derrick's jaw looks a lot better, but I have to say when comparing them, he doesn't really look that much skinnier. Jill looks better in the second because she's not loaded down with makeup!

Jeremy really needs facial hair. Henry looks better in that picture with Jinger than I've seen in any of the pics that Jessa has posted. Jingle still looks pretty to have a skinny face and neck in that pic - meaning not gaining pregnancy weight.

Mr. T's son looks just like him! I always fast forward through Rumbas cause I can't stand them, so didn't see rashad. Love the baseball player, Mr. T has the right attitude, Nick needs to relax, but I like the personality he's bringing; I didn't see Heather doing a hand wave, but I forget how I interpreted it. My final 3 right now? Baseball player, Heather....? I don't know. I like a lot of the 'stars' this year.

Though the chances are good she might be pregnant, I'm not sure the pic shows a baby bump. The skirt underneath is lying flat against her and the shirt is hanging away from her body. I will say though that she definitely has a correctly fitting bra on. Hopefully she passed the joyful news on to her sisters about what a good bra can do. Can you imagine Jessa in a decent bra?

Is "fellowshipping" even a word? What is a "Pupusa", I've never heard of it. And there is some fruit she mentions that starts with a J I'm not sure what that is either. Man, she is HUGE! Well, I'll modify that to say her belly is huge. She's got to be expecting twins (or more) if she's not due until July. She's already bigger than I was full term (and I gained 50 pounds). Conspiracy theorist in me: would they do IVF if they thought they were having trouble conceiving? I mean, I know they procreate like bunnies, and that twins run in their family, but if its more than twins.....
