Last time I checked undercooked pasta didn’t cause colic or diarrhea.

In his defense, perhaps Mike cooked the pasta al dente and Noxema was unfamiliar with it prepared that way. As for the sauce, maybe he was attempting an alfredo sauce and had to make do with what was on hand in her kitchen. The scene at the table was uncomfortable to watch and I felt sorry for him.

As others have noted, there is a Russian little person on Little Women L.A. who may have been more of what Caleb had in mind.

Yes! I think that's exactly what he expected--a well proportioned "little" woman. Sure, Caleb had seen photos of her, but he might not have realized her bent knee gait was so pronounced and that she walked on her toes.

So, they met on line?  She didn’t tell him of her disability?  When he met her at the airport, was he surprised her disability was more than he expected?

To me, Caleb appeared stunned when he first met Alina in person. He even said something about not realizing she is so small. I think he expected her to be really short, but normally proportioned and not as disabled as she is.

  4. I wonder how they are going to explain offing Alina and Caleb. To me, theirs was one of the most interesting, and amusing, "journeys" on 90-Day.

I've always wondered if Caleb was aware that she was unable to stand up straight or if her videos hid her disability and he simply wasn't aware of how extreme it was until he met her in person at the airport and then at the hotel when she was having difficulty navigating the stairs. At first it seemed that he thought she was simply a short "little" woman. Am I wrong?

We have popcorn ceilings too.  It wasn't a dealbreaker when we bought the house a few years ago.  Honestly, I love ceilings with a pretty swirl-type of pattern to them, but I don't have a problem with the ceilings I have.   I think some people are worried that a popcorn ceiling will show dirt easily, but I don't have an issue with that.

My house was built in 1987 and has popcorn ceilings. I don't mind them a bit. Nearly all the homes in our area have them and not too many people have had them scraped to remove the texture. My ceilings throughout the house have been painted, which actually makes them look a bit smoother. When I had my bathroom remodeled the exhaust fan in the ceiling was removed and replaced with a combo can light/fan in a slightly different spot. The guy who repaired the ceiling did such a good job that you can't tell where the old fan was.

  6. I know that many of y'all find Retta talented and funny, but for the most part I was less than amused by her. I just had to mute the sound whenever she came into view during the renovation finale. As a show host she got on my nerves almost as bad as Chip Gaines and the Property Brothers. Just my opinion so please don't throw things at me. 🤣

  7. It's interesting that Dr. Emma focuses on how her patients' skin conditions affect their mental health and social functioning, often even before beginning her examination of them. I wonder if that has anything to do with getting paid by insurance companies and/or the British public health system.

I've also noticed that Dr. Lee frequently asks the same questions about how her patients handle social situations with their obvious skin growths and other shin conditions.

I agree trees can be a problem. I had a tree fall on my house when I lived outside Atlanta. When we moved to Bethesda, MD we bought a house built in 1949. There was nary a tree on the small lot. We found out the previous owner who had lived in the house since it was built had all the trees cut down because she was afraid of them falling on the house. Poor little barren lot, we planted some nice maples. Now we've moved to a house on 0.5 acres - lots of trees. In the 10 years we've been here, we've had 3 trees topple over. Fortunately, not on the house. If you've got trees with little root support, they can topple, like the locust trees in our yard.

I watched pine trees topple like pick-up sticks in my backyard during a tornado. It was a close call and thankfully only the fence was damaged. Down the street pine trees fell on houses. Georgia pines have lousy root systems that are only good for raising concrete sidewalks and driveways. We've had most of the ones closest to the house removed. They were dangerously huge and I don't miss them a bit.

Not only that, but she went through 3 surgeries and radiation while filming the show.

After reading that article about Hilary I have a lot of respect for her strength and determination. Has anyone watched her new show? No "love it" drama and I liked it. ☺️

Where does this family live? It was warm after Thanksgiving at night.

The show was too OTT for me; I kinda felt embarrassed for them.

They live in Canada. Maybe near Toronto? I have the feeling that the show was filmed in late summer, early fall. I wonder how Sherry's "snow tunnel" looked after that rainstorm. 🤣 She seemed more into it than her brother and father.

It was definitely way OTT. I doubt it was Mike Holmes' idea. Probably producer or network driven for a Christmas special.

I think Sue's house without embellishments, would look like any other estate.   I suspect that unless someone super rich falls in love with the embellishments, that the house won't bring anything near $50 million.    My guess is when no offers are made, that the seller will get ticked, and take it off the market.

Or she heard about everyone laughing about the suggested price, and went with another company, as listed below.   Price dropped to $5.395 million.

That looks like a different house than the one on Million Dollar Listing. The LA Times article says about this one: "Found near the entrance to Griffith Park, the Spanish-style hacienda isn’t the first Los Feliz home Wong has given a makeover. In 2004, she bought a 10,000-square-foot mansion known as the Cedars, and during a three-year-restoration, brought the estate back to its Golden Age of Hollywood glory."

Isn't it Cedars that is on Million Dollar Listing?

I bet since the Oregon Christmas themed episodes are listed as Ho-Ho-Ho House Hunters, the cable guide doesn't know it's the same show.

That must be why my DVR is ignoring them. I wondered why y'all had seen episodes that I didn't have recorded.

I think they bought the wrong house.   Getting rid of a bedroom to make an en suite, and accommodate that boring bedroom furniture was bizarre.     If they go to sell, they're going to get buyers that want a giant master suite, and don't care about anything else.      I couldn't believe they took out a fireplace for that horrible bedroom furniture.      They also didn't leave the coffee, and turmeric on those counter tops long enough to see if it would stain.     I would have gone with regular quartz, not any of the others.

Didn't that leave them with only two bedrooms? I seem to remember it was a three bedroom house. I expected to see a remarkable bedroom suite of furniture, but that was just massively ugly.

Was episode 2 one hour or two hours?  My recording cut off at one hour in the middle of Mike talking.  They weren't finished with the first house and just started the second house.

It was listed on my DVR as an hour, but I watched it in real time and it only lasted an hour.

The Charleston couple bought the one closest to work, with the adorable screened back porch, but also the smallest house they looked at.   I think it was a right now house, and with today's market they could look around, and eventually build or buy a bigger house, and then sell the one they just bought.

That couple buying in Charleston surprised me. None of the houses shown were in Charleston proper. One was across the Cooper River in Mount Pleasant and the house they bought was on Daniel Island, closer but also across the river. If I remember correctly, the third house was in North Charleston. Traffic in the city is a nightmare so if he's working at the VA Hospital or Medical University of SC Hospital the commute isn't what anyone would consider "close" to work. I did like the house they purchased.

Mike Holmes has some good-looking offspring. His son is really hot! 😏

Maybe one should do some research before hiring a contractor, hmm? Did they really think they could get all that work done for $25,000?
I had never heard of a cold room before. What state were they in? I generally liked the decorating choices. That kid’s room was adorbs, but I wouldn’t put much stuff within reach of a toddler on that storage board. I loved the area rug in the movie room.

They are not here in the US. Apparently a cold room is quite common in Canada. I've seen them in numerous basements that Mike has refurbished over the years. Mike Jr. is quite a handsome young man. The children's playroom turned out sweet and that snack cart for movie night was really nicely done. Something I disliked was the word on the wall and the word in tile on the bathroom floor. Personally, I just think it's tacky.

    Re Investor couple

Also, thought it was a miss not installing a pair of ceiling fans for the back deck -  they would really help  make being out there more comfortable w/bugs and the St Louis heat in summer.

Actually, it  screened in would be the sweet spot

The deck was high and the street was visible over the top of the fence. Not very private. Screening it in would be an improvement.

In some of the close-ups of the white subway tile kitchen backsplash the black grout looked messy and the lines uneven--thicker in some spots. Other than that and the ugly light fixtures they selected, I thought the house looked nice.
