  1. Winston is older than Maggie - in his first episode he told her that he had a crush on her when she was his chief of cardio; her being younger than him AND his chief made him like her even more. We also know that Derek was 16 and Amelia was 5 when their dad was killed; it seems to be accepted that Derek was born in 1966 (although he grew up with and went to medical school with Mark Sloan who was born in 1968) so that make Amelia born in 1977 or 1979 - putting her at around the same age as Meredith (1978). Meredith’s “year abroad” in Europe (and both Maggie & Lexie skipping grades at school) does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to explaining why she seems to be years behind in her career in comparison with those the same age / younger than her.
  2. Darius was in a few episodes in season 3. He was at the Grant/Nash house for dinner with the family one evening before he took May out, and got an interrogation from Athena, then he was May’s prom date and took pictures with her by Athena’s hospital bedside when she was attacked, and then he was at the graduation party at the Grant/Nash house where he was teaching Bobby how to dance in the season-ending montage.
  3. I think the ads said “tragedy strikes one of our own”… I would guess that the one of our own was Meredith, and the tragedy was having her watch her house (that she also lived in as a young child) burn down. I really hope that they don’t give Teddy the Chief job.
  4. And then Addison is showing up next week to work with the interns - she must know who he is too.
  5. And yet we never see Richard working anywhere except at Grey Sloan - we don’t even get mentions of him doing any other Fox Foundation related things. Ludicrous is the word. The whole set-up also leads to a very confused up chain of command - Jamarah Blake said that Richard doesn’t respect Bailey’s authority (because Chief of Surgery outranks Residency Director) and Meredith doesn’t respect Richard’s authority (because Chief of Chiefs outranks Chief of General). So Richard has 2 roles, one of which makes him Bailey’s superior and one of which makes him her subordinate.
  6. As chief of general, Meredith wouldn’t have needed Richard’s permission to just get on and do the surgery - it would have just been a stupid decision on her part given the blood shortage. However, once she made him aware of the surgery by asking for his help and he said not to do it - well then his position as “chief of chiefs” outranks her, and her going ahead was then disobeying her superior.
  7. Meredith Grey disobeys her superior and performs an unnecessary surgery during a blood shortage, which ultimately leads to the residency programme being shut down… And the way to rebuild is to give her more money and make her chief?! Derek really was right all those years back, when he told her she’s never faced a consequence for her actions.
  8. They’ve never had a season ending cliffhanger on 911 - they tend to do the cliffhanger the episode before the finale, and then they wrap everything up in the finale.
  9. Her brother’s memorial video said he was born in 1987 - and she’s at least a couple of years older than him; so she’s most likely 37 at the youngest.
  10. There were quite a few scenes of Bobby, Athena and the kids before they got married. 2x03 was when Bobby first met the kids - Michael invited him in for dinner after the earthquake and said that the kids wanted to meet him. 2x06 was heavy on the scenes with the kids, Bobby was in the house at the beginning of the episode when May was trying on her dress and then the end of that episode was when May asked Bobby to be in the family pictures. 2x07 was a Halloween episode, and we saw Bobby carving pumpkins with the kids. 2x10 was when Bobby proposed, and he spent Christmas with Athena and the kids. 2x11 is when Athena’s parents come to visit and Bobby is at the house with her and the kids - they talk about how he was helping Harry with a school project. 2x14 is when Harry’s school have a talk at the firehouse, and he’s talking with his classmate about how cool Bobby is - then Harry runs away from Michael when he’s in trouble, and hides at the firehouse to talk to Bobby. And I think it is 2x17 when Harry asks if they have to get married, Bobby & Athena say they won’t if Harry isn’t ready for them too; they talk about how the wedding is Athena & the kids choosing Bobby to join their family - Harry says he wants them to get married, he just doesn’t want to wear a tux or dance with May. Then Bobby and Athena got married in 2x18 with the kids there, and they have the big family hug at the end. Bobby didn’t actually move in with them until after the wedding - he told Athena’s mum that had decided to wait until they were married before he moved in. When he was suspended in 2x17, he was wedding planning from his apartment while all of the 118 came around to complain about work.

Yes, but then after Nia they had 2 more short-term foster kids; and Karen mentioned in this episode about their foster kids - so while Denny is their only child, there may be more than 1 child living in their house.

She did say in this episode that she’ll tell Toni that they’re going out - so I assumed that her mum was watching the kid(s).
  13. The “we raised you” attitude is ridiculous and it has been there since the original interns were choosing their fellowships - Arizona being mad at Alex for daring to leave is what cost her her leg, and invalidated the insurance therefore bankrupting the hospital.
  14. Athena also heard him say “I’m watching you” to the neighbours he was arguing with when she got there - and then the woman from the car told her that the bomber said the exact same thing on the phone to them.
  15. It wasn’t Amelia who called time on the relationship, this came up when Addison was in town - Link left Amelia because she didn’t want to get married, she didn’t break up with him she just didn’t want to marry him. Link left her because she didn’t want to get married, and then months later he decided that actually he didn’t need to get married - Amelia didn’t know that Link was going to change his mind, so she did nothing wrong by moving on. Link can be upset that the relationship is over and that he let Amelia go, but him hating her for moving on after he left her is not justified.
  16. Linc broke up with Amelia because she doesn’t want to get married.
  17. I’m not exactly sure how Amelia has screwed Link over, or how she’s supposed to fix it - he wants to get married and she doesn’t; they want different things, it’s nobodies fault and not immediately fixable.
  18. Alex was never on the board even though he had Cristina’s shares - him and Bailey had to fight it out for the vacant board seat, and the rest of the board voted for Bailey. Alex was prepping for the presentation he had to give for the board seat and wanted Meredith’s help, but she was distracted with figuring out if Maggie really was her sister or not. I’m not sure what happened to Bailey’s board seat when she became Chief though, I don’t think that was ever addressed.
  19. Didn’t he live in Meredith’s house for pretty much all of season 7? I think him and April moved in there after the hospital shooting, and then moved out when Meredith & Derek adopted Zola.
  20. We are 17 seasons in, and Superior-Subordinate relationships have been a thing on this show since Day 1. It doesn’t make it right, but given everyone else’s relationships that they are in (or have been in) that crossed the superior-subordinate gap, I’d have more of an issue with it if they made it a problem for Maggie & Winston. At least in this case, they’re both attendings.
  21. Barely even mentioned again?!... He screamed at her that she “killed their baby” in front of all their friends/colleagues at Zola’s birthday party - and then he cheated on her because of how much he hated her for the abortion. And he had kicked her out of their house before she had the abortion - telling someone your marriage may be over with if they have an abortion seems a like an attempt to control their decision. He also had no intention of going to hold her hand at first, he thought she had already had the abortion but then Meredith told him that she hadn’t so he should talk to Cristina. And when Cristina left he made her interview the candidates for the head of cardio postition, and did tell her that he wanted to offer her the job, to see if that would make her stay. In the seasons between the abortion and her leaving there was a lot of mess including their divorce, him dating his “perfect” woman who wanted to give up her career to raise a family - and then cheating on her with Cristina.
  22. The last season of Station 19 carried on for a few episodes after Grey’s season ended, which put it ahead of Grey’s timeline by the end of the season. Andy’s dad dying was one of the things that happened on Station 19 after the end of Grey’s season - so this episode with all the jumping around probably puts them back on the same timeline going forwards.
  23. Shepherd’s pie is made with lamb mince. Beef mince is used in cottage pie though.
  24. I’m glad Jo is getting the help she needs. I’ve been a bit uncomfortable with the whole storyline, due to how her mother has been spoken about as being in the wrong and as if she did something terrible to Jo - rather than being recognised as the victim that she was/is. I get that Jo is depressed, and that Meredith and Alex are her people so they want to support her, but I feel that they’ve all been quite dismissive of the trauma that Jo’s mother went through and is still living with.
  25. If they were going to fly commercial from here, surely they would have just flown straight to Seattle... If I wanted to get to Seattle at short notice from London there are no less than 7 different airlines that fly direct - at only around £100 more than a flight to New York from London. I think they must be wanting us to believe that they took the private jet all the way from London. Also, I’ve lived in London for all 30 years of my life and I’ve never seen fog like that - so I don’t know why she said it reminds her of home.
