  1. Finishing up the very short-lived Livia sequel and I still despise 20 years later. To be introduced to Eve as Livia, this shell of a person who is just evil to be evil followed by "Eve" where she is magically redeemed by Eli as if she was under some type of magical brainwash is so annoying and makes the character even less of a character than she already was. In the interview with writers/producers they talk about how you can't keep the storyline of Livia vs. Xena go on to long or have her as a villain that long so they just made it 2 episodes...what the hell were they thinking. They gave her absolutely no depth and having her kill all those women/children/men/Joxer was stupid. So how do you fix the character and overall storyline (for the billionth time as I know this has been discussed everyone for the past 20 years)? First off....they should've decided "Is Eve brought up by Octavius Augustus or somehow finds her way to becoming the champion of Ares"? If she is brought up under OA then the whole "hatred for Followers of Eli" should've been outright dropped as it makes no sense. If she finds herself lured away by Ares at a decent age (lets say...18/19) then she should find the followers of Eli as the "bad guys" as she doesnt see how the world could go on without the Gods. She leads his armies, she has met Athena, Aphrodite, etc... Either way...she is someone who never feels complete and has always been drawn to fighting, being trained by the best to the point of being deemed the new "Warrior Princess" Like her mother she does not take satisfaction in killing women and children, choosing to instead lock them up. If she is raised by OA, she learns to be manipulative and work her way up the system that is primarily ruled by men. She does end up leading the army and she is snarky but she isnt a cold blooded killer. This should've lead us to the finale with Livia finally seeing that everything she thought she was grown up to believe was wrong, turning on OA/Ares and saving Xena. Either way she doesnt become some whining pacifist who cant defend herself. She remains a warrior who like her mother is fighting to right her wrongs, joining Xena/Gabby full time.
  2. I swear...Season 5 has SO MANY good ideas but every single one of them are rushed as hell. I don't know why the writers refused to let anything breath. They throw Xena/Gabrielle 25 years in the future and 5min later she is already in Rome, finds her daughter...there is just zero chill.
  3. Finola looks younger today than she did on the show lol. Shannen is starting a podcast where she claims she'll discuss leaving the show. While I love her, ill be surprised if she gives an honest recap of it.
  4. Likely a soap opera on one of the big 3
  5. What a...nightmare of an episode. It just felt so empty and half-baked. It was like they needed yet another way to make Iris into the "best person in the world". She's always been a great character but barely anyone on this show knows how to properly write her so they give us these episodes where its "I've been a superhero for 5 years but it wasnt until Iris came into my life that I was able to realize my full potential". It seems like every single episode this season has been Iris doubting some part of her life. 7 episodes in, of a 13 episode final season. Thats all she's been doing. How about you let us see the woman be in her prime, chasing down stories that don't just involve her husband and breaking them before anyone else does instead of just telling us that she has one of the most successful publishing companies in the world. We trade one "will they/wont they" love story for another...why the hell do we need all of this with Blue streaks and Chillblaine? Why is he even with the team after betraying them yet again?
  6. Finally got around to finishing S4 after taking a hiatus from the show. Of course Ides of March was a great episode and "finale". Even if Xena/Gabby always ended up coming out on top in the end, they definitely suffered plenty of losses. Of course it would've made more sense for Alti to be in Callistos place but Im glad she couldnt do it and they had Hudson step in. Deja Vu All over Again is such a fun and perfect episode that it reminds me that this show really does not get NEARLY the amount of love that it should. Sure there are plenty of episodes that deserve awards but if this was on a bigger network, this definitely would've won some. The writers having Joxer/Xenas souls get mixed up in each others reincarnated bodies was GOLD.
  7. Holly looked fine, she just put on weight. But on the podcast, Greg Vaughn let it be known that they asked him back for 5-6 episodes during s7 or 8 but he had to turn it down due to his network not allowing him to work on other network shows
  8. Joy commenting that they're only an hour show made me want to scream: you're a glorified 30min show! 36min an episode is rushed and they should regain the 6 traditional minutes.
  9. Did we - in a final season that was shortened, really just have a filler episode where the 2 leads were off for majority of it? And somehow the showrunner thinks they dont have enough time for certain storylines?
  10. Brian did reveal he was an alcoholic and is now sober. I imagine that has something to do with it.
  11. It was...a basic "finale". Red Streak turned into a joke and just kept repeating "Justice! Justice! Justice!!!!" I seriously can't believe that they wrapped up the moving drama last week only to bring it again and have Cecile choose Team Flash over her own husband and child lol. Does Iris even remember or care that she has a sister? Did i miss what they said about Ryan disappearing and popping up?
  12. I was enjoying this episode for the most part up until those last 10mins when i was rolling my eyes. Is Snow just going to waste the final 13 episodes being all "love and happiness, we're all equal!"? Why do we continue to waste time of Chellgra "will they/won't they"? It's the final season. You have 13 episodes. Does anyone watching the show care about them THAT much? I doubt it. They really have no idea what to do with them outside this bore of a romance. After like 5 seasons they finally remembered that Joe/Cecile have a kid! Wow. Will she ever meet Iris though? Their whole drama also was stupid. Joe "we need to move" Cecile "i don't want to move" Daughter almost dies Cecile "its best we move. You're right" Joe "no you're right. We dont need to move. I finally decided that if she doesn't see her mother telling people they're sad she wont know she can grow up to tell people the obvious" Cecile "awe, babe! So sweet" Ryan was the best part of the episode. It was no secret that when she showed up at the apartment that she wasn't our Ryan. That whole exchange was the furthest from friends as someone could get. Ryan "Iris West-Allen" Iris "Ryan Wilder" Thats how friends talk to one another? Lol.
  13. It is strange to me how much Constance disappeared from the show after leaving. She's very rarely interviewed about it, speaks of it, nada.
  14. How anyone thought a show that was supposed to have the women be the most powerful only to change it to an all powerful male was a good idea? Holly better critique the hell outta that
  15. I laughed at Iris being so dramatic about having kids. I know irl, it's perfectly normal to fear that but she has a step-mother who works with her full time fighting crime, being a lawyer, and taking care of an invisible infant. Just stop with the doom and gloom for her, let her just live her life and be happy. Does Hartley not have a sonic scream? I dont understand why he used it once but when it would be REALLY handy, he just sticks to his gauntlets. Murmer actually was a villain over on Arrow. Guess this is the Post-COIE version.
  16. Nothing of value. Holly kept going on about her relationship with Leo. Even in "talking" about 1x22 where they barely discussed the episode, Holly continues to go on about Daisy/Leo.
  17. Listened to Love Hurts today and it continues the same issues we've had all season long with House of Halliwell recaps. We spend the entire episode complaining about Daisy, talking about actors crying, Brians brown hair, and Piper/Leo as usual. No talk about switching powers, Prue/Phoebe switching powers and learning how to control them, Prue easily being able to tap into Darklighters hate, etc...
  18. I jsut saw the news and I am SO SAD. Peoples Court is my watch before bed....what will I do now?
  19. Yeah I've seen it. Some thought it was real. It would make for a great spin off. The Warren line has a lot of story to tell.
  20. Her business thrives just because....does she really need to be there? They beat out Catco and Daily Planet (or was just it just Daily Planet) to be the most successful paper.
  21. Overall...very basic episode. Im not sure why they have made everything to do with Caitlin so complicated yet so boring. Im surprised they havent thought of a Lazarus Pit. We've had the Scientist, the killer sarcastic, and I guess now we are on the hippie? Hippie Snow? Why is Allegra/Chester so complicated? They arent anything special enough to warrant all this romantic drama. Of all the characters this show has promoted to series regulars, im still not sure why Hartley never came to mind. He's one of the more interesting characters and a better anti-hero than what they made of Frost. If Hartley is able to literally tell Barry what he needs and its 2 steps away...why exactly would he need Caitlin and couldnt just do it himself? How many shadowy Speedvillains do we need that do the same.exact.thing? Literally. They all get these villains to do their work. Villain fails. They threaten said villain. Villain fails. They kill said villain. How many sonic screamers does 1 Earth need? It's the most popular power. So many have had it.
  22. In true Arrowverse fashion, the non-female lead loses their sister and it drives them crazy to the point that they try to bring them back to life despite the male leads insistence to leave well enough alone.
  23. They are going to be using "old friend" a lot this season arent they? And with this being the last season do we really need any sort of conflict between ANY of the couples? Either break them up or have them live in their happily ever after. There are plenty of storylines to tell that dont involve forced drama.
  24. This kiss felt like FOREVER. It still feels like the most exhausting relationship in the Arrowverse.
  25. Maybe because its been 7 months...I thought it was a decent episode where I wasnt rolling my eyes for majority of it. Was it premiere worthy? No. But having Barry shirtless half the episode definitely helped. ANOTHER new Caitlin but this time with blue highlights....here we go. Whenever it comes to Caitlin I just flashback to Angel and how they turned Fred into Illyria and how heartbreaking and epic it was and how I wish this show could've done even half of that for Caitlin so lets see what this new one brings. Still not sure why they want Iris to get pregnant at the very end of the series. She should just be pregnant now and get it started and have the arrival of Nora for the final scene of the finale. Having a blurry speedster with glowing eyes, stick to what you know I guess. I wonder if we'll meet Ted Kord or we'll just continue the tradition of hearing about his awesome company that gets broken into 10 years later. When it comes to Iris, I just hope she isnt all doom and gloom this season. Seems like she hasnt been able to fun since like S1.
