  1. I am really loving Cush Jumbo's role on the show - she adds a simple (but much needed) spark of life and fun to the cast and courtroom scenes. And I will ask forgiveness and admit that I was wrong for doubting JDM's addition to the show, as much as it pains me to do so. Over the course of a few minutes total, I've gone from thinking the show was jumping (another?) shark to stanning the chemistry he and Alicia have together. Hopefully they use the connection with a much more satisfying storyline than what they gave us with Matthew Goode's character last season (I will never forgive them for wasting such charm and beauty! Never!). Mamie Gummer needs to get off my TV screen. I can't stand her schtick on the show - it got old after her second or third episode on the show, yet they continue to torture me with her sporadic appearances. Give us some new guest stars to fill in. And MORE law firm drama at Lockhart/Agos... is CBS serious with this nonsense? Of course Cary will find himself reunited with Alicia within the next few episodes (it can't be as easy as Howie simply giving the ultimatum and being written off with a nice bow tied around the package... or can it?). Before I hit post, I suppose I should throw Grace a bone and say that she's not the worst and I haven't yelled at her/my screen once thus far this season, so yay! Oh, and in closing, ::obligatory Peter continues to be the worst/get off my screen comment::
  2. This show is a damn mess and I am beyond happy to have made it to the end of S1 to officially say that I gave it a shot and I am soooo done with it. I have so many issues with the way things unfolded and how annoying/awful/idiotic/boring the entire cast is/was/will continue to be. I hope some of you stick around to S2 because these recaps and forum posts have been one trillion times more entertaining than this trainwreck of a show.
  3. I thought that this episode was (finally) a step in the right direction, especially with how messy and terrible S6 was. Absolutely loving Character Actress Margo Martindale's role and am beyond excited for the drama between her and Eli - I'm already in line for seconds before the fun really begins. A few things I'm not too keen on though: Not loving how obvious the King's are in making Alicia and Lucca besties after the (ongoing!) debacle of Kalinda... and I am SUPER over how Queen Christine Baranski is still barely given anything to do on this show... but hey, get that paycheck, boo. Peter remains the absolute worst and I am ready for him to be destroyed - why can't he be ignored and pass his screentime to more worthy members of the cast? Is that really too much to ask?! I'm unsure of how I feel re: MJF becoming more of a main character. Out of all the guest stars they've had in recurring roles, I really have felt like he's one of the weakest in terms of the character he plays. I really actually liked that they were phasing him out (or so it seemed) while he was in the hospital last season. I guess I shouldn't have assumed such, as this show is basically resetting itself at the start of each new season. Silly me! Also, what the hell was with the random quick scene with Cary and the young associate attorney? Is this a tease of a sexual discrimination issue that's ahead? I'm sick of him getting the shit end of the stick on this show.
