  1. The thing with Karma is, if she really does have feelings for Amy, why would she be scared? It's not like her parents wouldn't be thrilled about her being gay since they already are! She goes to a super liberal high school where everyone is totally accepting of her "relationship" with Amy. So maybe she is actually straight and not confused at all. Of course, she doesn't know about Amy's feelings so she may be scared about being rejected or about "ruining" their friendship if they ever become a real couple. I don't know. I go back and forth on her. Is she that unaware and repressed? Is she actually straight? Is she scared of being attracted to Amy because that would change their whole dynamic? Karma has become the most fascinating character on the show for me. Of course, Amy is still the most adorable and cutest one.
  2. GAH. Loved it. I felt like I was reliving my teenage years: angst, sweaty palms and fluttering butterflies when Amy decidedly kissed Karma. Also, like Karma, my jaw hit the floor when Amy took off her coat. I never got the vibe that Karma was anything other than straight but now, I'm not sure. She's definitely self-centered considering she doesn't realize that Amy has feelings for her, I mean can't she see the signs? Why on earth would Amy agree to a threesome in the first place? I know those people are supposed to be teenage kids but at this point, there are SO MANY signs that really it's like Karma isn't even trying. Which is weird since last episode she was an awesome friend to Amy. Let's Black Swan those bitches! I laughed out loud.
  3. Indeed, it was way too rushed. In less than 15 hours, Amy: figured out that she was gay, went to a gay bar, tried to flirt (and failed miserably), set up an online profile and got a hit, managed to organize a date with a very cute girl and eventually ruined the date by trying to kiss the girl after 5 seconds. I wish my coming out process had been that fast, it would have saved me a lot of heartache. The episode didn't quite work for me because of that and also because Amy and Karma didn't have a single interaction. Still I enjoyed seeing Oliver who continues to be super cute and lovely and I was glad to see Karma's hilarious hippie parents back.
  4. Ah yes, I had forgotten about the book. The thing is, Marisol was my favourite character last season because her storyline was the most interesting one. But so far, this season she's been kind of useless, as you rightly put it. And Ana Ortiz seemed like a decent actress last season. Not brilliant by any means but you know, decent.
  5. God, the actor who played Oliver looks like the male Brie Larson. Seriously, it's uncanny. He's very cute and I was (almost) disappointed that Amy felt nothing when she kissed him. I wish the episodes were much longer, 20 minutes is very short. The episode is over so fast. Not that it feels necessarily rushed but I could definitely take 20 more minutes of that show every week.
  6. There are Valentina/Remiiiiiiiiii shippers out there? I know I shouldn't be surprised but they are so incredibly dull, bland and annoying. Valentina is especially irritating. I just don't understand how she can be Zoila's daughter. One, they look NOTHING alike. Two, Zoila is awesome, badass and funny. The actress who plays her is really good. Valentina is none of those things. I continue to adore Evelyn, the actress who plays her just nails it (really, I should start learning her name!): the bitchiness, the poshness and the way she speaks! She sounds like one of those old Hollywood actresses, like Katherine Hepburn. She's fantastic. I'm disappointed that Marisol doesn't seem to be a professor anymore. So what she just stays at home like the other women in Beverly Hills in their big mansions? That sounds truly boring. Suddenly she meets that rich guy and boom she quits her job? She didn't seem like that last season.
  7. Do we know exactly that Amy is *consciously* jealous? I think she's upset but doesn't really know why and therefore tries to rationalize it. Which seems very very realistic to me. I'm not sure she's already there in terms of self-awareness about her sexuality. This show is really subverting my expectations: I expected the worst, and so far, it's been really good.
  8. I don't think she is. And of course she's desperate. The poor girl has been craving for some affection and clearly sees Norma as a mother figure and has been having a crush on Norman from the beginning (god knows why, but that's another story). We never got to see her dad this season so she seems super lonely, except for Cupcake Boy. I just wanted to give Emma a big hug this episode, the way she was holding back her tears while giving her big speech to Norma. Too bad the timing was really shit, with Norma worried sick about Norman.
  9. I don't think we're supposed to like Liam, no. He's creepy and I hope Shane will call him out on his crap. I actually find it interesting/a bit baffling that he's such good friends with a gay guy but totally objectifies lesbians. Teenage boys and hormones, am I right? I don't mind Karma (and her parents are hilarious, even though do that kind of parent really exist? I've only encountered such acceptance to the point of ridiculousness on tv, never in real life), she's a teenage girl desperate to be cool, I cut her some slack. Also, she has no idea how Amy is starting to realize how she truly feels about her best friend. It'll be interesting to see how Karma will react to such news from Amy. Really liked the way Amy "came out" to her mother. I enjoy the irony that they're pretending to be gay, so Amy pretended to come out and yet, all of this may be true.
  10. The show is at times super silly but I Iove it. I think it's obvious to everybody that the whole storyline with Marisol and Opal is based on Rebecca, the writers know that we know. It's on purpose. Hopefully, there'll be a twist to the story. Either way, I'm excited. I adore Marisol. And Evelyn is my absolute favourite, the actress is fantastic. "Just try to wear a shirt" LOL There's something that bothers me about the show and it's the language. Wouldn't all those maids be speaking Spanish with each other? A friend of mine is of Iranian descent but she was born in the UK and she only speaks Farsi with her parents/grandparents/aunts. With her sister, she speaks English. If all the maids were born in the US, that would be a different story. But Rosy (that's her name? and she's Mexican?) is a recent immigrant. Same with Carmen IIRC. So I don't know. It just jumps at me that they would be speaking Spanish when they're together, not English. Also, is Rosy's son mute? He hasn't said a word so far. Maybe because the actor doesn't actually speak Spanish? I'm thinking too much about this.
  11. I'm glad to find like-minded people on the internet. It keeps amazing me how everybody seems to hate Piper. In a show full of complex and flawed people, it's really strange that a lot of the audience seems to only focus on Piper's flaws. There are far worse characters on the show (*cough Daya and Bennett cough*) and they never seem to be called out. At least, from what I've seen/heard. She's my favourite character and like you, I'm worried that by diminishing Piper's role and increasing everyobdy else's it will damage the show dynamic. I'm interested in all the storylines obviously (well, not the star-crossed lovers known as Daya and Bennett, definitey not) but Piper's is the one I can actually relate to the most. And I find her fascinating.
