  1. I think the GSK maybe a future topic down the road even though the thought is the guy was all over the place and maybe hard to really write. The idea that he was never really a suspect ever is also one of the reasons it may never happen. But then they do have BTK as their over lining theme so who knows. 2. I found this article in y news feed. No idea of the date. It mentions all soaps but I thought the GH ones were the most juicy so posting it here if anyone is interested! https://getpocket.com/explore/item/sex-death-in-the-afternoon-an-oral-history-of-the-american-soap-opera?utm_source=pocket-newtab
  3. Good god I love the Casteel books but this whole Lifetime shitfest sounds awful. Kudos to you who managed to watch it and warn the rest of us how bad it was. I mean how the hell can you screw up Fanny? She's basically a candid reality star. I'll have to be drunk or high as a kite to get through this like I did the FITA series.
  4. Now that I can process this I can see Martin writing this ending. It would be like him to build up Dany and then tear her down. Plus we all know the entire family was nuts. She really was the living embodiment of power corrupts and absolute power corrects absolutely. What I can't understand is was everything Rhaeger did for nothing. Cause literally he put this whole thing in motion by starting a war that killed millions to fulfill a prophecy? All for Jon? I mean as someone mentioned up thread what the hell was the PWP and Azor Ahai reborn about? Is anyone able to explain this to me cause I am lost about Jon's overriding reason for existing and how stupid Rhaeger was. I can see why Jon had no wish to be labelled one of the Targ family. And he broke his Night Watch vows before so I am still fan winking the poor guy gets a happy ending with some woman and a family of his own. Someone other than Bronn and Tyrion deserve it. And here's hoping Davros gets a new family as well! I think Sansa will marry again eventually or at least take a consort. But no way is she giving up her right to rule. I can only hope she is inspired by the women of Bear Island.
  5. I honestly am heartbroken Dany ended up a crazy bitch who had to be killed. I was pulling for her after all the shit she went through. So much for boat sex baby. Can I dream in my head that while back in the North Jon meets this beautiful, tough, amazing Wilding named Val who he falls in love with and marries? Cause that shit should happen in the book. And I am afraid if George finishes them Val, my fave character will be treated about as well. Plus Ghost loves Val. And well, thank god Ghost lived. I really haven't been invested in this series for a few years now but its nice to get an ending. Those predicting Bran would be on the Iron Throne - I salute you. Cause I never really thought it would happen.
  6. Thanks for the link. This casting ugh! Heaven is not anything like her book character. Seriously is it that hard to find a heart-stopping beauty in Hollywood. And don't get me started on Leigh! Jesus at this point I could cast better. And they are really pushing the Cal/Heaven sexual relationship when its only part of the book! The big part is the SEPARATION from her family specifically her siblings. I literally have no interest in watching this I think. Though I do think Jason may make a good Tony. He's handsome and charming and can probably show a dark underside while at the same time playing the victim.
  7. I think you meant Kitty but anyone who read the books would know who you meant. (I have hope for Julia as Kitty, we know she can play sweet and a bitch)Yes Cal really did just as good a job manipulating Heaven as the Rev. did with Fanny. And of course Logan blamed Heaven for not waiting on him. Which yeah - cosmic payback with Fanny and Luke junior in my opinion. Luke Sr. really was an asshole, but sometimes I wonder if he shipped off Heaven because he was afraid he would end up raping her as well. His mother seemed to think so, with him watching her as she slept so often. What he did to his own kids showed just how selfish he was. I never could stand Drake either and Heaven's obsession with taking him in. I saw some still frames from the movie after reading the casting, and I hate to rag on actors looks, but this Heaven is no head turning beauty. Is it so hard in Hollywood to find actors that could better match these parts or does the casting person owe some agents some favours? I was already pissed about it as others mentioned in the Dollanger series. I see soap actresses all the time who are stunning looking, these people are out there. Ugh. I need to stop since I guess its done but honestly I wish these books were being done by real fans and maybe then at least we could watch them and have some things to positively comment on. I am already doubting the look of Tatterton mansion with its mosiacs will be as I pictured it. I am only half-heartedly excited about this now.
  8. How the hell did I miss that they were making Heaven into a Movie. I loved this series mostly because of bad girl Fanny. I loved Heaven too (mostly) but honestly just like Cathy she was a supreme hypocrite most of the time. I wouldn't want a sister like Fanny in real life but holy hell was she entertaining to read. Is it evil I laughed so hard that she ended up being the mother of Logan's only child. Cause he honestly deserved it. He and Heaven were perfect together - two hypocrites on high horses a little too often. I hear you. The casting though - ugh redheads!!! WTF!! As someone mentioned Heaven is distinctive and doesn't look like the others, she is supposed to have I guess what you would call a classic beauty like her mother. Which, I can't see this actress as a blond later down the road. I am already losing faith. Cal looks hot but he is such a whiny sad sack in the books that I pictured him more as a pathetic pretty boy. This guy looks I don't know tougher or something. Most of all I need Fanny to be wild. Someone has to inject some fun into these movies cause no one else will be able to. I wonder if they will end up making it the last book where Tony rapes 12 year old Leigh after painting her NAKED for weeks and her mother blames her. Because that will be hard to watch. I just loathed Gillian. Troy really was the cream of the Andrewsville men which is course why he ended up alone, insert eyeroll.
  9. This article talks about some of the serial killers we will be seeing in Season 2. Sounds like it won't be out till next year. http://thathashtagshow.com/2018/08/exclusive-serial-killers-coming-to-mindhunter-season-2/
  10. I came back on the thread to see if anyone else was also excited about the cast being announced this week and knowing we are going to get Force Ghost Luke. I wonder if this would have happened if Carrie hadn't died, I am thinking yes but I bet his part is now bigger. I am sure he will be haunting Ben/Kylo, but Rey getting a visit/some help might happen as well. As to The Last Jedi - I still think its a mixed bag and I understand the complaints but also understand why some people really enjoyed it. As mentioned it was nice having dialogue that actually felt like it was supposed to mean something. I really liked some parts of it, the attempt to show that Kylo Ren still had some humanity there, to emphasis Rey's continued impulsiveness and youth, to show that Finn has found his calling. I am still not happy Luke turned into a grumpy old hermit but then I guess that is what Ben Kenobi was somewhat as well. So yes - A Skywalker turns to the Darkside, a Jedi fails his padawan, what's happened once will happen again seemed to be one of the themes of the movie. It just makes me wonder what is going to happen in the last movie. Because truly Star Wars is about the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. Or what should feel like his tragic story. Unfortunately the prequels were so poorly done in that regard I really didn't feel sorry for him and I should have. Here is a kid, born into slavery, told he has a great destiny but loses his mentor, loses his mother, no doubt feels overwhelmed with what he is told he is, and falls in love with a woman he is told he cannot have. He gives into fear and that causes him to lose everything - like literally everything (even his own body) but the power to terrify and destroy. He may make an awesome villian but his backstory should have made me more sorry to see it happen. I don't really blame the actors for that I blame the direction more and the stilted writing. Where I am going with this is - what is the point if Kylo Ren ends up the same way as his grandfather? Apparently the Cosmic Force created Anakin but to what end? Just to have the Skywalkers screw up every time and create misery around the galaxy? I think the point of The Last Jedi was to show that Kylo, as the last Skywalker is the last chance to fulfill whatever the hell it is that Anakin was supposed to. And he can't do that if he is complete monster at the end of it. If he is and Rey ends up having to kill him I am honestly not sure what the whole point of this trilogy was. Don't let fear control you? I think part of Rian's problem was he really wanted to work on Kylo Ren as a character and the other characters just felt like they got tacked on. I think anyone who was a fan of Finn or Poe was probably pissed about that. Finn's arc dragged on (boringly in my opinion) and Poe was an cocky asshole. Meanwhile violent man-child Ren is given a showcase to entice the herione into caring about him. I am sure it does grate. But like I said he is the last Skywalker (which I hated that this was Leia's and Han's only child) and the films are about his family's journey. I honestly think he's an arrogant, volatile, selfish mess but its clear he, like Anakin was overwhelmed by what he considered his destiny and was failed by those around him and turned to the Darkside as some type of rebellion. Its obviously though that he hasn't got the fortitude to totally embrace it. Just as the death of a woman drove Anakin towards nihilism I think a woman will draw Ren out of it. He seems to above all want someone to want him for him, not use him for power while secretly finding him pathetic. How J.J is going to accomplish this I have no idea. He is basically a war criminal and I have no idea what he could do to even come close to making up for the horrific things he has done. I think there are going to be unhappy people no matter what. Oh and I am excited about Keri Russell. I think she'll be with the Resistance but I could be wrong. It will be so great to see Lando again as well. I hope BDW says healthy enough to complete his shot.
  11. I agree with everything you said. The movie isn't perfect but rewatching the OT over March Break - yikes - some of the scenes are not so great also ( I hate Ewoks). I felt bad for Luke at first too in this one. What a shitty life he eventually ended up with, but you know what - that happens to people even good people. We don't always get what we want. Mark Hamill was great and I loved Luke's ending though it did make me cry. I hope he turns up as a force ghost. I also liked what you said about Kylo/Ben choosing darkness and following orders. He will be a terrible leader. If he gets a redemption arc ( and I think he is going to but differently than Anakin) then how are they going to do it? He is a dark violent character who even if he comes back to the light. will always have a lot of darkness in him and the capability to chose it. I think JJ also really screwed up choosing to have him kill Han to make Han more relevant to the plot. For any fan who loved Han ( I know I did) its unforgiveable and something they can't get past. I have a feeling many are going to be disappointed by the turns in the final movie as well. I am going to be rewatching TFA and TLJ over Easter break with my family. Its always fun to rewatch movies with new insights. I know at first viewing TFA and thinking Rey would be Luke's, the sight of Kylo carrying her around bridal style was weird to see. Now it takes on a whole other facet. And I will be looking for Rose with the stars in her eyes! And I love Holdo as well and thought Laura looked beautiful as well. It was great to see so many women in this film. And I think they were all well written. I only hope for as much in the next film.
  12. I've seen the movie twice now with different people. The first time I have to admit I was disappointed. It didn't feel like a 'Star Wars' movie to me. I also had been convinced that Rey was Luke's daughter. The second time I liked it much more and I am fine with Rey being a 'nobody'. I think its one of those movies that will grow on some people over time. I felt the same way about Kiera Knightley's Pride and Prejudice, initially was extremely disappointed in it and now its one of my favourites. That said I can see the compliments. This trilogy/9 movies is about the Skywalker's. The only Skywalker in these movies that is left is Ben Solo/Kylo Ren. That means these movies are about him whether people like it or not. And a lot don't for good reason - he's a terrrible person. That said its not Rey's movie or Finn's its his which is why so much time was focused on him and making Rey talk to him. They want us to feel something for him besides hate. It worked on some people, some people still loathe him. I am sure its why Adam Driver, an actor who really doesn't want to seem to be a big star, but is interested more in character roles, agreed to play him. After watching it now several times and reading about it I really am shocked that the makers of these films went this route. They had to know people would hate Kylo and many not want him to live let alone possibly have redemption. Killing Han was shocking. I have avoided posting about the movie because many people feel strongly on both sides and no one is letting go of their points and often times it feels like having a different point of view means you are not thinking logically. My feeling its a movie about a world away from ours that involves a family of a certain lineage losing their son and hoping they get him back. Basically I think we are seeing the inversion of Anakin's story - I just have no idea how they are going to work him towards the light now with Carrie being gone. I am sure Leia was supposed to be a big part of that especially with his inability to fire on her on the deck. As a woman and a teacher, I also feel they didn't disservice the woman in this film or make their stories less important. I was initially annoyed with Rose but by second viewing liked her forwardness and her determination to be part of the solution. I also think Rey is fantastic. She is a strong but lonely person who has been given this amazing power that she has no idea how to use or work with. The only other person that also has this is Ben Solo and she is drawn to him because of that. And yes I do think she finds him attractive as well - that scene in the elevator convinced me. She wants Ben Solo however not Kylo Ren and his gloved hands to work with her, which is why she left him (Kylo) in the throne room and she shut the door on him at the end. My nephews have told me that force bonds last for life or until one of the parties dies. I really think Snoke was lying about creating it. He also uses the force and knew something was going on and took credit for it. I don't need to know more about him or feel he is a missing plot point. All I know is Kylo Ren will be a terrible leader. I wonder what the time jump will look like in the next movie and where everyone will be. I am actually excited to see where they go because honestly as I mentioned above I am shocked they went this route. Its left the fandom very decisive to say the least. I am sure George Lucas is glad he doesn't have to deal with the fallout from these movies as well.
  13. I haven't watched the show in years but I just finished reading an interview with Vanessa Marcil and laughing my ass off at how she insists in her mind Brenda never had a child. Apparently there was some kind of Twitter hula boolah about it a few months ago. Does anyone have a link? Never mind I found it. I loved the story someone on here told about MB deleting stuff on Twitter After reading some of the crazy stories in this thread I am not missing much. I feel for you guys still having to put up with Michelle Stafford.
  14. This may be complete BS and I honestly hope it is not true, but years ago on another message board someone posted that the Sandor/Sansa storyline was changed up somewhat by the writers because of some unpleasantness that happened between Rory and Sophie. Its probably all lies cause I have never heard anything bad said about him. As for who ends up with who I have no idea. All I know is that Val must not be that important in the books because if she was they would have been all over casting a hot blonde. At this point I am wonder if Jon just dies again after the big battle.
  15. After reading Dunne's article Trial of Guilt http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2000/10/dominick-dunne-martha-moxley-murder-greenwich I feel it would make an interesting ACS series. The racial component is pretty white (except for the mysterious police psychologist). I honestly think a scene where Dunne and Moxley talk in the airport cafe about their murdered daughters would be beyond chilling as well as the young man giving him the confidential detective reports. Not to mention Mark Fuhrman's role.
