  1. Sherilynn Fenn has said that she shot more than what was shown. Other actors have said they suspect there will be more. Lynch is always huge about secrets and as @jsbt says above the NDA goes well past the end of the show. I suspect sometime after the book comes out on Halloween we'll hear about a movie or something. The economics of tv and movies are different enough now that they could do a limited release for theaters and release it as a streaming video at the same time. I don't expect Lynch to answer certain of the bigger questions. That's not his style. But I do suspect he has more stories to tell in this world.
  2. Sarah may have been inhabited by Judy, but it's probably like what happened with Leland, who said when BOB left him, "When he was inside I didn't know and when he was gone I couldn't remember. He made me do things, terrible things." Sarah may not have remembered anything Judy did when Judy wasn't there, even if she had some sort of vague recollection that something is horribly wrong. Judy was losing the fight/dying at that point. Either she was doing a ritual to try to keep Laura/The Fireman from winning, or she was simply lashing out at the thing causing her pain.
  3. I agree with all of this, and I suspect that Lynch is also saying that life in Twin Peaks, weird Lodge stuff and all, is still a soap opera. We may never find out who all these characters actually are, but we've been watching for weeks as people talk about who's sleeping with whom, who likes whom, etc. We've seen fistfights break out over misunderstandings or actual infidelities. These beautiful little scenes are a much more tastefully done Invitation To Love.
  4. Also, how did I get this far into the series and not connect "Silver Mustang" Casino with the White Horse from the Lodges?
  5. The Mitchums aren't great people, but I think Dale knows there are bigger things at stake here. In season two there was a lot of discussion about there being a Black Lodge and a White Lodge. They seem to be connected, and your experience with them depends on if you approach with fear or love. Also in this season, Hawk points out the same thing on his map. I forget the specifics, but there's fire and diseased corn and when they mix you get black fire.
  6. I clipped the four minutes where TP comes up so you don't have to mess around with downloading or searching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF9xQu6h7XY
  7. Eric Edelstein who plays the laughing cop, Detective 'Smiley' Fusco, was on the Doug Love Movies podcast recently. He talks a little about his audition, the way Lynch directed him to do the laugh, and he does an incredible impression of Lynch. The full podcast is here. Skip to 30:15 to get to the Twin Peaks stuff. It's really good.
  8. OMFG I'd forgotten all about it but I had the MAD magazine issue that @Tara Ariano sang from. My dad used to watch M.A.S.H. *all* the time too so this is all nostalgic and shit for me :D
  9. Dale's back! Here's my thoughts about this episode and some predictions for the last two: Maybe Audrey is also a Doppelganger? If Mr C was able to get Diane under his control and replace her by starting with an evil kiss he could have done the same thing to Audrey when he fathered Richard. The real Audrey could be in one of the Lodges. I'm not really sure what that white room was. I've resisted the coma theory this long and I'm not giving in to it until it's proven. As we all now know Naido is Diane. Major Briggs was hiding her from Mr C. Maybe that's why Mr C didn't have complete control over her. I'm not sure if Mr C's plan needs her for some reason or not. As a matter of fact we still don't know what Mr C's plan is. The White Lodge wants to stop him because he's evil, but he is also actively defying the Black Lodge by not returning after 25 years, so I assume he is somehow going up against his Mother/The Experiment herself (symbolized by the round black symbol with the owl wings)? And if this is his plan why does he need Diane? I'm not sure what will happen with the Blue Rose group other than them ending up in TP with Real Coop et al. Dale and Mr C have a show down. Dale wins and ascends to become a member of the White Lodge. Mike makes a Doppelganger of good Coop from the Seed and Coop's hair and the good Doppelganger becomes Dougie Jones and returns to be a good husband and father to Janey-E and Sonny Jim. Lynch is 71 and this is an 18 hour culmination of a lifetime of exploring shadow realms via film and television and other media. It's also his baby. I think he wants Dale to have a happy and heroic ending.
  10. *and* getting a pseudo pee-hole carved into his head :D
  11. The scene with Starr and the tapes at the end was played perfectly. The music giving it that light comedy feel is great. A lot of things in the show have more weight than they did in the comic book since because it's live action so it's nice when they can touch on some of the lighter, albeit twisted, aspects of the book...
  12. I miss this show a lot. I've been binge watching YouTube clips. Some have made me cry they're so funny. Some of the best so far? This Paul F Tompkins outtake I'd not seen before: And this bit in Feb 2015 where when asked for fake Walking Dead Spoilers show/comic book creator and comic book writer said "a character named Neegan would show up and bash Glenn's head in." This episode aired after Walking Dead season 05 episode 09 in Feb of 2015. The event Kirkman refers to happens in season 07 episode 01 in Oct of 2016, a full season and a half (including a cliffhanger about who dies at the end of season 06). This spoiler was so far out of what was happening in the show only readers of the comic would know what it meant: edit: first the audience gets it, the "Eugene" gets it. I didn't at the time but it's funny as hell now.
  13. Besides savings, what else would they be spending their money on? Have a good vacation once in a while. I was watching an episode of Twin Peaks The Return one day in my living room, and my roommate joined me to drink a few beers. He likes sci fi and fantasy but prefers less weird stuff like Stephen King and Anne McCaffrey and such. As we were watching I found myself explaining the plot in simpler terms because he was in the middle of it and wasn't interested in any of the weird stuff. But as I'm explaining each scene in Stephen King Terms; "That guy's a doppelganger of the good guy" "the good guy is trapped from coming back to the real world" "the doppelganger has a demon inside of him" "they work for the bad guy" I realize Twin Peaks is much simpler if you just mentally PowerPoint it lol I watched X-Files when it aired but I forgot about the tulpa thing. The first time I can consciously remember a story about a tulpa was in a little indie comic called Doktor Sleepless which only ran for eight issues beforfe it petered out, but it had *so much promise* :wah: I always picture Lynch directing scenes as his Gordon Cole persona; "OK MONICA I WANT YOU TO DRINK THE COFFEE AND ACT LIKE EVERYTHING IS OK. BUT IT ISN'T OK. SECRETLY YOU'RE HIDING SOMETHING. MAYBE IT'S JUST A PERSONAL THING YOU DON'T WANT TO SHARE. NOT SOMETHING IMPORTANT. NOW LEAN FORWARD AND SHOW SOME CLEAVAGE. PERFECT! LET'S SHOOT! ACTION!" This is the best analysis of this show yet. I love it <3
  14. Haven't read the thread yet. Here're my initial thoughts... * david lynch hates to let us know which parts of the narrative are drug delusions and which parts are actual mystical experiences * RIP Margaret :( * Norma and Ed together is great. I hope Lynch doesn't ruin them in the next three * Mr C/DoppelCooper seems not at all perturbed by multi-dimensional interactions * gersten hayword is a little couger aint she? lol * One Punch Man to the rescue! * was that a Pulp Fiction reference? (I love you, Honey Bunny) * other stuff... comment as needed; I'll read thread and respond in a bit :)
  15. Many years ago there was a comic book miniseries called Siren that was sort of a noir crime set in a world where superheroes and the supernatural are real. It was good but not great, and eventually Powers did the same thing better, so I don't know anyone else who remembers it. I was reminded of it because something about Tammy reminded me of the main character from Siren. Not that they look alike but that they come from the same archetype. Pics:
  16. The symbol that looks like a black circle with small wings like on the Owl Cave Ring? It looks like a larger, rounder (possibly because it's pregnant?) version of the symbol on the Ring. This symbol represents The Experiment, ie. the thing that *birthed* BOB and other evils when the bomb was tested at White Sands in 1945. It is the mother of the Black Lodge beings. Doppelganger Coop thinks he has already dealt with the real Cooper so his machinations have nothing to do with the real Coop. I think Doppelganger Coop wants to overthrow The Experiment and become the new ruler of the evil "black lodge" dimension. This will all go down on the two days that were indicated in Major Briggs' clue (Oct 1st and 2nd I think?). Any thoughts? btw: I made this same thread on reddit although I prefer the discussion here. this is the link:
  17. Podcasts fill this need for me. How Did This Get Made and Doug Loves Movies have a lot of the same DNA as @midnight as far as guests go (which usually means people who came up in comedy through Upright Citizens Brigade). Also Comedy Bang Bang (for those who have the patience for it), Spontaneanation (Paul F Thompkins' podcast) and Jordan Jesse Go. The "Jordan" in Jordon Jesse Go is Jordan Morris who was a full time writer on @midnight and sometimes appeared on the show as one of the comedians.
  18. @StatisticalOutlier @TheGreenWave @ketose I love your comments and agree totally. The point of the show is to realize a lot of what we believe comes from unexpected sources, like the "tradition" of a wedding ring costing two months' salary being from an ad campaign. Like was said above, "I thought." For me the overall result of watching the show is more about doubting things that are presented as universal truths. Next time a fact is presented to me I'm more likely to ask why it's something people believe.
  19. So much good stuff. Pickle Rick performing his own battlefield first aid with condiments and a stapler while Jaguar cauterized his wound with gunpowder was my fave part!
  20. There were a few times where guests seemed to be silently rolling their eyes at him while he ranted. .
  21. I'm gonna miss this show a lot but I agree that Chris dominating the show after it got big was a bit of a downer for me. I don't dislike Hardwick like some do, but I was a bit put off when he started more and more shows with his rants and such.
  22. I don't know why I bite the hands that feed me content...
  23. Just the clips. Using PocketCasts on Android edit: re-downloading. will report back in a moment o7
  24. Throne of Games Actors Rich Sommer and Wil Wheaton pile all of their collective board games into an Iron Throne shaped jenga structure. Geek celebs would work in teams each week to see who wins the Throne of Games! Hosted by The Rock and never Chris Hardwick. Recreation and Parks each episode teams compete in an Amazing Race style challenge but involving the US's National Parks. High Clone a miniseries re-imagining of the movie Multiplicity but with Doug Benson.
  25. "Is This Worse Than Jizz?" should be the name of a feminist podcast about dealing with mens rights activists.
