She made it to the Championship round but once there, Lily apparently gave up. Perhaps she knew she was no match for the decisive winner of the GC Woman Most Likely to Survive 2024 Bracket:
    Mariah

In a live broadcast held on the mansion’s vast and verdant front lawn, joint masters/mistress of ceremonies, Jeff Probst, Julie Chen Moonves, and Drew Carey announced the winner. They presented Mariah with a giant prop check for $1M and told her she could decide later whether she wanted to keep the money or donate it to charity.

Finale participants then moved to the mansion’s guest house which had been decorated like a nightclub. They were joined by Mariah and Lily’s guests: Tessa, Sharon, Nick, Devon, Abby, Summer, Audra, and Championship round co-hosts Nate and Chance.

Back in GC, most of the other contestants and their guests attended a watch party held at GCAC Jazz Lounge.

Mariah’s siblings Faith and Noah teleconferenced in with their congratulations to their big sis. Likewise, Malcolm and Moses sent their kudos to niece and big sis Lily for achieving 2nd place.

The afterparty was DJ’d by Kyle and went on for several hours after the show ended. The next day everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast buffet as they sailed back to the WI mainland on a mystery benefactor’s yacht.

A great day for Mariah’s everywhere!

So Brando is the Star of the Month.

Tomorrow (4/5) is what I've christened TCM Mega-birthday day, and so we get Gregory Peck, Spencer Tracy, and Bette Davis movies during the day.  The other two notable gentlemen born on this day are not ignored: Walter Huston is great in the great Dodsworth showing at midnight to kick off 4/5. (And Mary Astor, who was not born on 4/5, is in Dodsworth, and then overnight, the documentary about her and two more of her movies are shown.) Melvyn Douglas (another 4/5er) is featured in the first Peck title of the day, The Great Sinner.

Then Friday evening is all Billy Wilder.

    Such riches!

Another interesting bit of trivia: Tracy, Davis and Peck were born eight years apart (Tracy in 1900, Davis in 1908 and Peck in 1916)

I am seriously concerned that LC may be done with the show. BLQ telling Jason that Monica is both sick and injured made me sad. But that cousins scene was well done. I will give Burton some credit for Jason's tears that his mother still loves him.

@GHScorpiosRule You need to watch the Robert and Anna scene. So cute!!

It's so weird to me to see Sam actually talk like and behave like a real mom. So, she finally sees Jason clearly re: Danny?  Well, better late than never I guess.

Preview: Is it wrong that I hope Kristina slaps Josslyn for yelling in her face? Joss is really such an insufferable brat.

We didn’t call her “Slappy” on the DOOL board for nothing!!

Come on Slappy that’s your best trait!

I can’t lie, this one nearly broke me. Not even the caveman sequences helped because I know what they represented.

All I will say is that Luanne wasn’t wrong. Milhouse might be a dweeb, but sometimes having no friends is better than a toxic friend. And he could’ve still had a good time at the concert with the other kids had Bart not tried to manipulate Luanne into inviting him, then resorting to crocodile tears to get his way….nope, not saying more than that. 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

And another Marge episode is next week. I know Easter is technically the end of Lent, but I’m gonna keep my promise for that episode to.

When your Lenten promise is fulfilled, we expect a very long rant from you 🤣

No, Gina, Ingrid Bergman getting shunned by Hollywood after her affair with Roberto Rossellini was an "unnecessary cancellation"*.  People getting blacklisted by McCarthyism counts as an "unnecessary cancellation". You were a crappy employee who screwed up, so you got fired. And surely you of all people would agree that "no one is owed a job"?

*Yeah, they took her back 7 years later, but I think my point stands.

And don’t forget she was denounced on the floor of the SENATE.

What a fucking mess.  They start out with the names so small I had to get out of my chair and stand in front of my TV to read them - what the hell?  Get those  dancers off the stage.  And why the focus on the singers - it's supposed to be about those we've lost.  And how disrespectful to those who were tiny names crammed on the screen for about 2 1/2 seconds at the end.

I say this every year - just have the people at TCM do the In Memoriam.

    Same!

So many wonderful movies from Norman Jewison - how will TCM decide which to include in their tribute to him?  I hope they include the episode of Private Screenings in which he was interviewed by Robert Osborne.

That interview was wonderful.  Especially the story when the team behind The Fiddler on the Roof wanted Jewison to direct the film adaptation because they thought he was Jewish.  “What if I told you that I was a goy (is that the right word?)?”

This may be all you want to watch of When the Boys Meet the GIrls.  Includes Liberace!

    Well, also Satchmo.

I was going to suggest Duel in the Sun for the We Hate Movies podcast listener’s request month, but after seeing this I might change my mind.
