  1. I would have been upset Castle was canceled two seasons ago, but now I only feel a slight surprise, only because of the mess ABC has made of the last 3 weeks. Why go through all of this trouble and not renew? I haven't watched an episode since episode 8 of this season so I have made peace with season 7 being my series finale a long time ago. I had thought about trying a season 9 if renewed, just to see if it was better than this season but only if it included both leads. I would not have watched a Castle without Becket, no matter how she went out. I don't really feel a lot of sympathy for the cast or crew. They had a good run of 8 seasons which is more than what most shows get. I will miss Esposito and Ryan and hope Jon and Seamus can find steady work after this. Molly had a natural charm that came through Alexis in season 1 and 2 that was lost over the years, which isn't completely uncommon in child actors so I think getting away from the character can only be good for her. I told my husband that I will now watch the finale to see how it ends but I remembered how the showrunners screwed this season up. Then I thought of the HIMYM series finale and decided I will just record it and do a wait and see. There is still time for them to do a lot of damage to the show before it's all over. Edited to add; I am more upset about Galavant not being renewed. I knew it was too much to ask for another season after the miracle of season 2, but I will miss it terribly. It made the month of January a little brighter and warmer for me here in the cold Midwest.
  2. For me, killing Beckett would be on par with the horrible, horrible HIMYM series finale. I would sell my Castle DVDs and never watch another episode, new or a repeat, again.
  3. I'm somebody who started the season watching and fully intended to see the series through to the end. I skipped Cool Boys and haven't watched the last four episodes. They're on my DVR and maybe I'll get to them, but I probably won't. I think the ratings are going to stay steady for the rest of the season. I think the viewers that are left are going to stick with the show until the very end, and the 1.1 rating is what it's going to be here on out. I also think they are already making enough money in syndication that they don't need another season. It may no longer be cost effective to do another season if the ratings are not there in there.
  4. I don't really have the time to get involved in this discussion, but I do want to say I agree wholeheartedly with pepper and KaveDweller.
  5. I liked it and not just because of the final scene. What I like most about this show is the interaction between the main four, and I thought that had been missing in the previous episodes this season. We would get a lot of just three of them together but not all four of Castle, Beckett, Espo, and Ryan. Tonight we had a lot of interaction between all of them which I liked. It was also nice to see "feed the birds" between Castle, Ryan, and Espo. I don't think we have seen that since Season 3 maybe. I like that Castle is getting a clue, and I hope they don't drop that next week. They are still dressing Alexis like a 40 year old woman, and there were a lot of things during the case that required some handwaving regarding the investigation but I did like the case. I think this was my favorite episode of the season and the best chemistry we have seen between Castle and Beckett in awhile, and it was consistent throughout the whole episode. I even liked Ryan and Espo's side story.
  6. So a witness/suspect of a random murder tracked Castle to his loft based solely on his marriage to Captain Beckett? Isn't that what Beckett is afraid of when investigating this year's big bad. Did they writers not think when they wrote that or were they being ironic or whatever? I thought it wasn't that great of an episode. The nose lady could have been a good character but because she was so unlikable as a person a little of her went a long way and we got way too much her for her to be funny. Ryan should just pull a Beckett and skip being a sergeant and go straight to captain. I'm not sure what the point of Hayley was in this episode. She added absolutely nothing to the plot. It was good seeing Castle and Beckett investigating together in the end, and the smelling of the shirts was a nice moment, but that still doesn't take away from the ridiculousness of the break-up. It really does create a shadow of the show.
  7. I actually found the episode rather boring. It was obvious which scenes and lines I was suppose to find funny, but they kind of fell flat to me. And just in case you missed it the ten times Castle said it in tonight's episode, Castle is trying to win Beckett back. I thought that was weird too and very unBeckett-like. My favorite scene was with Beckett and Martha. I liked it, but I think Martha should have been tougher with her. I don't think Espo is the only one of the guys who dyes his hair. My bet is all three of them do.
  8. lol...If you believe fanfic, it is miraculous that Beckett was able to survive with the lack of food and sleep she had before Castle entered her life.
  9. I didn't have an issue with with Beckett dating Josh, and I thought "Good for her!". I also didn't think she should have broken up with him when he decided not to go to Haiti. I remember her getting a lot of criticism for that on the other message board, but I think, knowing what she knew and thoght at the time, she was right to stay with him.
  10. Yes, I still like Beckett. No, I don't think she is a self-involved bitch, and yes, I think Caskett is still a viable relationship for a television show. That doesn't mean I like what Beckett has done, but I don't hate her for it.
  11. If I can ignore/forget the reason why Castle and Beckett are no longer together, I would probably like it more than I did. I thought Ryan and Espostio were the highlight of the episode for me, and I liked that the first person they interviewed was not the killer, BUT.... I watch the show to watch Castle and Beckett(with Ryan and Espo) do the detecting; I don't watch it for Castle and Alexis. With that said, Alexis was tolerable, although still a perfect 40 year old woman. Beckett's hair is bugging me for the first time ever while watching the series, and while the scenes between Castle and Beckett were nice, I can see them becoming repetitive week after week if the future episodes are anything like tonight's.
  12. Just to be sure I got this right; the new big bad that's bigger than all the other big bads doesn't have anything to do with the murder of Beckett's mom. Did I get that right? He or she is just connected to Bracken, how I don't really remember and don't really care all that much. I just don't have it in me this season to care about a new conspiracy.
  13. A season? I don't even think they have that long.
  14. It will give her a convenient excuse to drop by the loft and interrupt Alexis/Hayley/Castle bonding time.
  15. Holy Makeup, Alexis! And again with Alexis knows best and is oh-so-smart. What a convoluted mess...I think I might have understood. So there is a bigger bad than the big bad "The dragon has awoken" Bracken? So bad that even though she is told she is safe, Beckett feels the need to drop her happiness and chase after it, but it turns into all fun and hijinks next week when Castle tries to win her back. I'm sure jealous Beckett isn't far behind since that is always so fun to watch too. I've tried with Hayley but I don't see anything new that she brings to the show that wasn't already there.
