  1. I had this theory that the dragons rose based on their threat. I don't know anything about the timing of the other dragons getting smaller, and the last long night BUT since I believe they are the ultimate force against white walkers and that threat is seemingly huge and growing from what we've seen these may be the biggest dragons yet! Laugh if you will, but the main thing that stuck out in my head for some reason was in Twilight, the werewolves kept turning younger and younger as they felt there were more vampires in the area. Their pack grew based on their threat.
  2. How could I forget Benjen!! Every time they go north of the wall I think of Benjen....
  3. Is Gendry still at sea? Where did Blackfish go? Where is Edmure? Is he happily married? Or am I remembering right by thinking he is in a dungeon? I always think about Nymeria. She could have her own book. I'm sure she's seen a lot of things on her travels.
  4. And the rest of the people who think he shouldn't trust Wildlings? I mean I understand what happened to Olly. It's awful. I'm just pointing out that the rest of the NW wasn't so happy about Jon's decision either. They seemed angry. And they've lost their friends, their brothers, their family...
  5. It reminds me of what Heath Ledgers Joker said in The Dark Knight. Something like being a dog and chasing a bone and he wouldn't know what to do if he actually got it. LF says he wants everything, but doesn't everything always change? He will absolutely never be happy with what he has. But I agree with radiantaerynsun that he just plays a good game!
  6. Couldn't it just be his love for Cat that makes him so caring towards Sansa? I don't know why after all this time I want to believe him. Especially when Im re watching and he says to Ned about how not trusting him was the smartest thing he did since he got there. And I keep thinking he thinks Sansa has learned more than she has. She still seems weak and scared to me not at all ready for vengeance. She'll say something, even her comment about being married when he returns could have had such different meaning if said differently. I'm not convinced she can play Ramsey and not let him see her weaknesses.
  7. After being one of my favourites for seasons I found I did not miss Arya. Just her current storylines pacing I guess. Jons gotta go to Winterfell right? Makes sense SimoneS. But I still wonder why they weren't training themselves for their current tasks. Especially since the Harpies had already done damage and this wasn't their first strike.
  8. Have the Unsullied become softer in their current position? How much do they train? Or have they just been walking around in packs guarding? But not actually fighting or training.... I loved Selmy running towards danger but couldn't help but think he was toast.
  9. Thanks "Mya Stone this makes more sense. Stannis' doubts to Jon being Ned's bastard were interesting. And really Stannis won me over in this episode in general. Being at the wall is somehow bringing out the best in him. I loved it when Mel showed up and Stannis' wife just scurried off after being put in her place. All LF and Sansa were doing was talking in the krypts and I can't wait to see where this storyline goes. Does LF love Sansa? Is that kiss a I love you kiss? Is that a stupid question? I try to explain away anything potentially bad he does. I think Joff would stand up when it was safe. I don't think he would have went to the sept but I think he would have done something. He would have demanded it. In war? No... But I would say this is something he would have fixed if Margery played her cards right.
  10. The whole talk with LF betting on Stannis to Sansa makes me think Bolton will win. I can't erase how I thought for a second that Joff wouldn't have been as easily swayed as Tommen. I want Tommen to become stronger but who'll teach him... Can someone correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Lancel say the Sparrows knew about his sins? I guess they just don't know who?
  11. I think Laurie Holden could have pulled it off if her writing/story lines were better. From pretty early on (or perhaps the very beginning, I need to rewatch!) it was just clear that she simply wasn't Comic Andrea and never would be. When Shane was helping her or later when Dale died I thought things would change but they didn't. Then they killed her off, and I always think it was because she couldn't come back from her stupidity. And although at the time I definitely blamed the actress looking back I just think comic Andrea wouldn't have been in those situations, saying those things. I'm ok with Sasha and the Carol changes. Maybe it means we get two stronger females instead of one. That said, I do worry... Like when Sasha got Michonne's line from the comics and I definitely don't want her to be at all less because of Sacha. Michonne's one of my favourites. And then there's the addition of Daryl which has altered a lot of male leads. I hadn't thought about the appealing of the masses and that's why there's a lack of sex on the show. I had always wondered about it. I mean it's the end of the world people! This isn't the life where you have unrequited love right?
  12. I don't really think that being grey is more realistic. Maybe that's a nice sentiment... Maybe that means that no matter who we are, we could all be pushed places, and do the same things, but I don't think I believe it. Maybe it's more compelling for storytelling because it gives us a character that we can't 100% predict. That's the show Governor. Tortured by his loss of family, he adapts... But because we knew where he started he was grey. And that's why he didn't rape Michonne. He would have completely crossed the line. Negan is unlike anyone we've come across with his own rules... I don't know if it's true, but what if he kinda failed at his "old" life and excels at this one? Maybe he's not adapting .... Maybe he's like Darryl, who's more familiar with this life, this life makes sense to him and the way things were didn't. I haven't read beyond volume 22, and I can't remember volume 21 and I'm currently rereading but my current idea about Negan definitely makes him different. I'm probably most interested in Negan because my favourite part of the show is how people change. But in order for that to be interesting, we have to start with all different people, in all different spots. Some people are psychopaths already- what would they be like in an apocalypse?
  13. Maybe I'm reading this wrong and misunderstanding, but you're saying you wish Negan-lite or not at all because he seems too similar to our bads of the past? I would say since our Governor was the lite version, Negan lite would just be too similar to him (or any bad guy). Maybe I don't need all the brutality, it's not like I LIKE violence and yet taking away the things the Governor did, made him entirely different. He was a grey character. Tv is full of grey characters, it's trendy, and the Governor is just another. And without all of Negan from the comics he's just another grey character I'll somehow end up sympathizing with. I really want them to do him justice! Negan's more than just a bad guy. I loved his interactions with Carl, and his ladies, and their men he has scarred. When Glenn picked up a bat in the episode back after hiatus all I could think of was Lucille. Is this foreshadowing? Maybe there won't be a Lucille. That bit was insane... Before Maggie bonded with Sasha, I totally thought she was gonna hang herself. I don't think that'll ever stop being a threat when Maggie is sad. But she seemed really down. I'll stop trying down. In the barn I thought for sure she'd let that zombie have her. So happy to see Aaron! i think I called out Aaron as soon as he emerged. Hopefully the episodes will start picking up
  14. My problem is that with the general comic thread, I'm not 100% caught up. I'm on the last released volume so if there's talk that talks about anything at all current I risk being spoiled and I hate spoilers for this show ( as well as being spoiled on the comic). I was happy about the episode thread separate ... It meant no spoilers! I will admit that thread did get kind of off topic (with talk of characters that have now been dead for seasons), but there was more of a chance of getting some good episode discussion which I love... I don't like to post to the main one, I'd have to comic spoiler tag almost everything I say.
  15. I don't think in the comics Hershel's farm got overrun the way it did before the prison. In fact, not everyone left, so it made sense in the comics for them to go back to a place still considered safe. I think after all the flack they got for staying so long at the farm the writers wouldn't take them back there. As well as there'd be no reason to go back there because it was overrun, unless there's a plot point of them needing something that's there. But to me, it would just feel backwards, I don't want them to go to a place we've already seen the characters be. Regardless of what we think of Eugene... I'm glad the characters still have hope. I think that's the most important thing in this world. I liked Eugenes usefulness in the comics. I kinda don't blame him for lying at all, and I do hope we see what he did in the comics.
