Damn, what a show! Drummer survives, Bobbi officially joins the crew, and Diogo bites it beautifully. Even though Melba's motivations were wonky and her turn at the end was predictable, I'm glad it happened. How will access to new worlds affect Inner-Belter relations? Will those class dynamics no longer be relevant, or will they be further exacerbated? An excellent finale for an excellent season, and I look forward to seeing where both the political intrigue and alien mystery stuff go on Amazon.

So if the Cats (Felix and Sylvester) bring Maeve back, do we think she'll spend a season trying to reopen the Valley Beyond, or will she go Kill All Humans on that ass?

So I rewatched the final bit in slowmotion. It looks like the "future" aspect of the "past, present, and future" scene begins after we see Eros being ejected from Venus (backwards time motion) and a naked Holden. I read this future portion as itself being shown backwards through time, with the swirling blue orbs/bird being the/a "final stage" of the protomolecule's evolution after having consumed a star. This screenshot looks like numerous rings opening portals to several star systems which eventually open around the galaxy (maybe universe), with "our ring" being the first. The nucleus that Holden is currently inside of shoots a beam at a star (possibly our Sun--I did see a Saturn-ish looking planet upon slowmo review) to consume it. There's a theory amongst some physicists and philosophers that a sufficiently powerful or advanced organism must be able to consume energy on the scale of stars and star systems. Now a good question is why the protomolecule feels there is a mystery to solve at all. Or if the Miller apparition exists solely to lead to more rings being created. Hmm. This show is off the fuckin chain. I'm here for this! (I hope this pic isn't massive)

Count me in as someone who loves the literal, dripping-on-your-face UFO! Contrasting this with True Detective Season 1, , I think this took serious guts. I wonder if Peggy's perfectly intonated rational response to Ed was really Hawley's message to the audience. I read a quote by Hawley basically saying he wanted to own the UFO, for better or worse, and I really admire that. (Of course, I thought LOST was at its best in the insane latter seasons, so ymmv).

Why would Asami remain single? I can see her and Korra in a long-term partnership like Aang and Katara's.

I took Korra losing her connection with past Avatars as Bryke making her analogous to avatar Wan: a new cycle of harmonic convergence has begun, and with it comes a new cycle of avatars. Korra needed to learn to look within herself for solutions to her and the world's problems, and I think that's the underlying theme of the series.
