  1. I just wanted to chime in on this, because I did immediatly know they were referencing Harry Potter. I knew this because they used the word chums. That made me think British, which made me think HP. However, I didn't get the answer because I thought they were looking for a name of a group, not an individual person's name.
  2. I keep up with this forum, but don't post, but I had to say how much I love coming on here to read about how everyone else was bothered by the same people that drive me nuts. Kat! was almost unwatchable. She was like the embodiment of every annoying quirk people have had over the years. I was shocked no one knew Andy Weir, or the Minions. I knew FJ before Alex finished the clue. I'm not even sure where/when I learned it, but it stuck. On a non episode related note, I actually live in Carson City. Seeing everyone's comments about the episodes with Kit Carson are seriously the best.
  3. I also loved The Book Thief. I also read it slowly, chapter a day. It was a book I hated finishing because I just loved the way it was written so much. I also loved I Am the Messenger, a totally different type of book by the same author.
  4. That was a weird episode in general. No one could make any money except that woman, and she made something like 41,000 before the bonus round. And I may have to take a break from watching, because the buying of all the vowels in every single puzzle is driving me absolutely batty. I get it when you don't know the puzzle, but if you're saying "Let me buy THE U" as oppossed to "can I buy an A/ Is there a an I", then why do you have to buy the damn vowel? You already know it's there obviously.
  5. The woman who won last night (Sat) was so annoying. She stumbled on every category naming, used her entire body to ring the buzzer, and started jumping up and down once she realized she won FJ (which was I think after the 2nd place finishers wager was revealed). I will not be watching again until she is gone. Also, FJ was ridiculously easy. Was there anyone who didn't put it all together to get FCC?
  6. I did not know this was a movie, but I did read the book a whole bunch in junior high. Thank you for posting about it about the movie, I'll have to find a way to see it.
  7. I also listened to Gone Girl on audio book and don't seem to hate it as much as others. I ultimately didn't love the book because I felt it just didn't go anywhere. The last third of it felt like Flynn just kept adding on really messed up things for characters to do each other.
  8. The Divergent series is the first series I have not forced myself to finish. Not even because it was bad, it was just boring. I forgot almost everything about that book after I was done with it.
  9. This is my first post on this site, (I've been lurking since the TWOP demise), and I felt the need to post because one book series I'm currently reading has made me feel crazy for its universal love. The series being The Maze Runner triliogy by James Dashner. I've finished the first 3 and am almost done with the prequel, and I haven't disliked a series of books so much since Twilight. This is almost worse, because most can agree that Twilight is crappy. I actually read a lot of YA, and maybe since my last series was written by Tamora Pierce, this was just doomed to be a letdown from the start. I listened to the whole series through audio book, I don't know if that played a role (first audio book I haven't liked either). I had a hard time picturing the world Dashner tried to build, I hated Thomas and almost the every other character, and worst of all, the endgame with WICKED made no sense and was not worth the work of reading all that Dred.
  10. Colin is one of my all time favorite people to ever be on these shows, because he has an awesome sense of humor. BOTS1 was great for me, not only because the actually show was a lot of fun, but because of reading Colin's blog ( and Lori from Back to NY had a blog that I frequented as well). The website was colinsworld.com, but it hasn't been up in years. I remember one post in particular about him and some of the other cast members doing mushrooms while there. I really miss that site.
