  1. I enjoy reading everyone's wish list for season 5. I believe that most are assuming that season 5 will be the last season. I realized that I didn't offer my list--so here it is: 1. Rebuilding or abandoning Hawkins: I would like to see it rebuilt and residents return. 2. El's battle with Vechna: I would like to see a concerted effort by all the main players. My favorite part in season 2 was the role each group played at the end: El and Hopper at the lab, the group with Will at the cabin, the rest of the main players in the UD offering their assistance. 3. Ending: Nothing too sad, please. I cried at the end of season 3 because the characters were separated by long distances. 4. Possible romances: Nancy back with Steve, and continuing relationship of El and Mike, Lucas and Max, and a crazy thought--Dustin and Erica.
  2. I love all the theories and analyses. The Russia storyline still confuses me in terms of the gates connecting to the Upside Down. I plan on rewatching Season 4, but if memory serves, Hopper's plan to help El and the others back home was to kill all the demogorgons in the prison. But that didn't close the Russian gate, right? Also, I may be mistaken, but I thought that the Upside Down was specific to Hawkins. If there is also a gate in Russia, does that mean that the Upside Down is present throughout the world?
  3. Thanks, Cranberry. Hearing from the creators really connects everything with Vechna.
  4. True, Rankles. There were a number of military shooting at the demogorgon, so its attention was diverted from Papa.
  5. I agree that the demogorgon attack on Papa in season 1 should have been fatal. Then in season 2, the guy that worked with Papa and zapped Eleven's mom swore that Papa was still alive. So, it seems we just have to accept that Papa survived the attack.
  6. I love the theories. I read an article about Matthew Modine (Papa) and he said he hoped to be back. He also said that the Duffer brothers had not begun writing for season 5.
  7. One thing I love about Stranger Things is the bravery and resilience of the children and teens. Like good children's and young adult literature, the adults are useless for the most part and the kids win the day. I'm already obsessing about Season 5. What are you looking for? What happens to Hawkins? Does the government leave Eleven alone? How do the valiant children and teens deal with Vechna? Does Max recover? Is Papa really dead this time?
  8. I appreciate those interpretations. I was struggling to string the different upside down creatures together which culminated in Vechna.
  9. I'm new to the forum so forgive me if this topic has been discussed already. I've been trying to connect the four stories regarding the Upside Down. In the first season, there was one demogorgon which was released when Eleven opened the gate. Season two introduced the Shadow Monster, so the gate was still open. In season three, the monster was totally different, absorbing people to become stronger. And season 4 has Vechna with the new story of Eleven, as a small child, pushing 001 into the upside down where he becomes the main force there. So has Vechna been the ruler of the Upside Down from the beginning? Am I missing something here?
