Not too bothered about the Demogorgon not killing Brenner. We only saw it leap on him before it quickly cut to another scene. There were several of his men firing at it at the time, so it probably turned its attention to them pretty quickly.

Brenner is definitely a goner imo, don’t think there was too much ambiguity there. Not sure about Owens though. I’m thinking that maybe Max’s consciousness is inside Vecna and she can fight him from within. We definitely need to have a big moment for Will after all the crap he’s been through. Eleven will probably either end the series without her powers or sacrifice herself to save the day.

Although I understand why it had to happen, I’m not sure whether Max still getting Vecna’d after her previous escape has detracted from how I feel about Episode 4? Seems harsh for her to end up the way she did after all she went through.

Have to say, I lost some respect for Mike when he criticised having pineapple on a pizza. Poor form, Michael… 😑 Wild theory for S5: Vecna resurrects Eddie into Kas (or the Stranger Things equivalent anyway). Yeah, highly unlikely I know, but it’d be a shame to lose Joseph Quinn from the show.

Did anyone else find it weird that Hopper managed to kill the tied up Demodog with one shot from a handgun? 🙂

Amazing finale! Was seriously pissed about what happened to Max, hopefully things aren’t as bleak for her as they seem. Really thought Steve was going to die, pretty much all the way up to the credits! :) Read an article where the actor who plays Eddie said he wouldn’t be happy if he wasn’t in S5, so I didn’t expect him to die. Shame, thought he was a great addition. Mind’s still kind of blown (flayed?), so that’s all I’ve got right now…

Wow. Noah Schnapp hasn’t had a great deal to do this season (again), but he absolutely killed that speech to Mike! Great episode, El taking down the helicopter being a definite highlight. Shame Sullivan didn’t get his, really don’t like that guy…

Might be underestimating the Duffers, but I just don’t see any of the main cast being “Vecna’d”. It’s most likely to be some sort of heroic sacrifice thing imo, with Steve and Nancy the two I think are in most danger. Other than them, “Enzo” is almost certainly a goner and I wouldn’t be surprised if one or both of Brenner and Owens kicks the bucket.

Seriously, they had 365 days to choose from for that scene. How did they manage to go with the same day twice?!

I’ve been rewatching the show from the beginning over the last 2-3 weeks, as a refresher ahead of Volume 2 this Friday, and came across a couple of moments in S1 that I thought could suggest the Duffers have had Vecna planned out well in advance. Most notable one is in E6 (The Monster), when El has her flashback to when she made contact with the Demogorgon in the Void/mind space. During that whole scene, you can hear a clock ticking in the background. Obviously could be completely unrelated, though there’s no real reason for it to be there otherwise. Also, back in the first episode, there’s what could be construed as a clock chiming twice when Will crashes his bike.

Having rewatched this episode in preparation for Volume 2, I’m now even more convinced that Steve’s either a goner or will undergo some sort of transformation in the finale… 😟 I’ve had the feeling we’re not going to get a happy ending to this season since probably the first episode, with the possible foreshadowing of Dustin failing to defeat Vecna after rolling an 11 (could mean nothing, but it’s interesting they had him roll that number?). Would say this episode is behind only Dear Billy as the best of the season so far. Henry’s big reveal was very well done, and it was good to see the Demogorgon causing carnage again. Hope “Enzo” makes it out of there alive, think him and Hopper could go on to be good friends. Very much doubt he survives though.
