  1. It seemed that Jenn (no collar) had an unfortunate stain on her bikini bottoms at the immunity challenge.... or was that...?

It seemed they had (or were getting) new clothes.  And it's only eight days.

  2. Side note: I didn't realize Skye had shot herself with an icer, until I read the recap and the comments here. I thought she shot herself with a gun, and part of me thought for just a moment, "Holy shit! Are they actually getting rid of her character?"

One can dream, can't one?   It seems the show would move a lot better without Skye and her (never seen in Season 2) hacker abilities.

  3. During the Hell's Kitchen:Survivor portion of the show, did anyone catch what was going to be done with the plates of food after the task was over?  I didn't hear GR say, but I'm hoping they weren't just wasting all of that seafood.  Since GR sampled every plate, I figure they weren't giving them to actual customers waiting anywhere, but I hope the cheftestants or production staff got to eat them.

I was wondering too, as he was cleaning the plates before he placed them on the stand.

  4. I think this show is getting better than when it first started.

Troy Johnson seems better as a judge through the years.  He doesn't take himself too seriously, and that's what I like about a judge.

The show seems to have slowed down a bit (in a good way).  Taking the finalists through aisles 1 to 10 to see what each chef picks from each aisle for the final challenge lets you wonder how they will incorporate each item into the dish.

If I was a contestant, I'd be spying every aisle in the final challenge to see where things were in case I won.

  5. Really TAR, it's ok to show the country they're visiting and the racers navigating and coping. You don't have to cock up what used to be a great show with gimmicks.

I see what you did there.

I thought the best line of the night was when one of the female racers said something to the effect of, "Well, at least we get to use the room before the others arrive" and her partner looked at the cameraman and said, "Do you hear that?  Use the room?"

  6. I hope the production crew made sure someone took care of those pits Joe dug.  I'd hate to think they just left them there for some unfortunate creature - pig, hiker or other - to fall into and die needlessly.

That was my first thought as well.  But if I recall correctly, as soon as Joe saw that Matt had killed a pig, Joe went back to disarm the traps (not shown).  He (Joe) also said if you set traps and intend to leave the area, you should disarm the traps.

What was amazing was watching Matt make a atlatl and kill a pig with it (in what seemed a first try).

  7.  I believe they've always done that, same a Chopped.  There's one plate for each of the 3 judges and the fourth is the "beauty plate" for them to take shots of a show on screen as the chef describes the dish (and put under the cloche in the case of Chopped).

That wasn't the case last night.  Guy was definitely eating out of the fourth plate.

  8. The wasn't the most impressive show last year (when it was called America's Best Cook) but it was a damn bit better than Kitchen Casino and Kitchen Inferno.

It seemed anything was better than Kitchen Casino and Kitchen Inferno.  Looks like the Food Network fails at anything with "kitchen" in the title (how ironic).  Let's not forget Cutthroat Kitchen either.

  9. Not only are the selfies annoying, now they are taking a part in determining the standings.  With that said, I still think Libby & CJ would have finished last anyway, even if they took one every five minutes.  It seemed like the last two teams were more interested in sightseeing than racing.

  10. I didn't know there was a Bible on time travel.  There are many different takes on it.  There's the Doctor Who where some things can be changed.  There's the Back To The Future version where everything can be changed.  And then there are some that say time can't be changed at all.

Well, dealing in time travel in both Back to the Future, and Doctor Who you have a paradox.

    A pair of Docs.

    Okay, I'll let myself out.

  11. I started this topic because it seemed to me that as far as "storytelling" goes, it seemed to me that Agent Carter knew exactly where it was going, while Agents of Shield seemed to be making it up as they were going along.

Skye, a fantastic computer programmer/hacker.  No, that doesn't work, let's change her into a super villain.  Agent Coulson, dead.  How did he come back to life?  No, that doesn't work, let's have him carving equations/maps on walls with injected alien blood.

Get a good storyline and stick to it.
