S06.E08: What Will We Do This Time About Adam?
sugarbaker design replied to AmandaPanda's topic in Girls [V]
Blind items, esp about women in charge, are always to be trusted! :) -
Thanks guys! I just checked IMDB and it appears HH is directing the episode that airs Sunday April 16, 2017.

Just curious, how is Helen Hunt involved with Feud?

Hollywood History: The Real-Life "Feud" and More
sugarbaker design replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Feud [V]
Well, there's the show and then there's the hate. While JC and HH did wage a phone campaign for the Best Actress race, I'm not convinced it was that effective. While I appreciate the show and what it's trying to do, it's totally undercutting Anne Bancroft's performance, she was fucking amazing. And while BD was also amazing, BD already had two Oscars for Chrissake. AB totally won that Oscar fair and square. Even though BD won, after the ceremony she was home, albeit miserable, but she was home with friends and family. JC went home to a big, empty house. Who really deserves the pity here? After watching this episode I admire BD more than I ever did, and I feel sorry for JC more than I ever did.- 381 replies

S01.E05: And the Winner Is... (The Oscars of 1963)
sugarbaker design replied to Drogo's topic in Feud [V]
I don't think Anne Bancroft would've cared about all that stuff that BD and JC cared about. She most likely didn't care that she was still in character when JC presented her with the Oscar. I'm sure Mother Courage got some extra weeks of performances thanks to the Oscar win and all the hoopla surrounding it. I disagree that this was RM's thesis. JC and BD weren't enemies because of the men around them, they were enemies because they were professional rivals, because BD was an actress first and and a star second, and JC was the polar opposite. There were many other factors, it certainly didn't help that the powerful men around them manipulated them, but it surely wasn't the sole reason these two women were feuding. -

JC kissed HH's ass and played her games, BD didn't. -
Pretty much since the day she started.

What the fuck was Kid Whiz all about? Boy, that schtick got old real quick. So far this was the worst panel. Thank goodness for Titus and Jane.

Morning Joe: All Episodes Talk

Ditto, the first 20 minutes are must see tv. -
It's barely lukewarm! I love the Prison Break actors, such nice guys!

Good point J! I'm only a fan because 24:L does the things I love: includes names of characters in the previouslies; the omipresent clock; and that moment 30 seconds before the end of the show when the screen is split in 4 screens displaying the various plot lines. I'm really only watching now to see the identity of the obligatory mole, my money is still on Mullins!

Hap And Leonard - General Discussion

It was a little white boy who was tied to that gate, could it have been a revenge crime? -
That's nothing, I'm a Day One Watcher too, and I've taken months off at a time. I love the show but sometimes it is unwatchable. I keep tabs on this thread, try to keep along with the plotlines. When I hear Steffi and Liam are getting married I'm glad I'm not watching. There have been several times I've tuned back in, thanks to heads up from my fellow posters: when characters come back with a new actor like Hope, Thomas, and more recently Sally Spectra. I quickly tune out because the show doesn't know how to foster long term storylines anymore, characters fall in love in 2 weeks, then fall in love with someone else two weeks later, who can keep up. I was so psyched with the possibilities of the return of Spectra Fashions, but its devolved into a story about an old shrew telling her granddaughter the way to go in business is lying, cheating and stealing. Way to go Granny, thanks for the help! Why doesn't Sally just hire a decent designer (Thomas), a qualified operations officer (Rick) and a PR person (Katie)? That could provide story for years.

Respectfully disagree, Murphy has to know cinephiles of all ages are watching this show and besides, you don't have to be a film expert to know that 'women's pictures' never made a comeback. That's what made that scene so heartbreaking, Mamacita's prediction never came true.

Of course he knows it! He was just shocked CT said it on camera! -
Exactly, it's not the philosophy, it's the messenger. AN would be a great addition to the show. The reasons I don't like Jediblahblah is she's pompous, she's argumentative, she's condescending, and the worst of all, she brings every conversation to a dead stop. She's awful TV. Ana Navarro has a great sense of humor, something Jed sorely lacks.
