  1. Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere in here, so forgive me if it has been, but the media is reporting that Ken Howard, better known as that complete prick Peyton Cabot Harrison III, has died.
  2. But..but...Rose knows how the legal system works! She watches "La Law"!
  3. I feel like some type of blasphemer, but the last "adult" novel by JK Rowling: not the HP books, not "The Casual Vacancy" but her last detective book.
  4. Frogsprof, I believe that is from an episode of "Melrose Place".
  5. OK, forgive me, but I had to step out of the room for like 2 minutes and missed the deal with the video. Can someone enlighten me?
  6. Dot Com, I hadn't thought about that, but you could well be right! Either that or she died of a broken heart?
  7. Any episode that begins and ends with Barba (purr) cannot possibly be all bad. And Mercedes Ruel! Haven't seen her in anything in a long time.
  8. Not to be picky, but Albert was actually addicted to MorPHINE. As a child, I had no idea what had happened to Sylvia; I was a sheltered child and my parents just told me I'd understand when I was older. I did know she was pregnant, but that was only because Sylvia was "with child", and I knew that phrase from the Christmas story in the Bible. My traumatic episode: "Gambini the Great". No other words necessary.
  9. Plus she probably had to help deliver Grace, since she was, what, 10, when Grace was born? Imagine her seeing that out loud for Mary.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if Ma didn't give her the talk and let her learn from the animals. Would make for an interesting wedding night.
  11. I am sure proper ladies didn't talk about their periods...*Eye roll*
  12. While I don't begrudge the Ingalls' their "Christmas in whatever month it was" I cannot imagine the smell in that house afterward, after 7 months of pretty much not eating...
  13. I would assume that the family smelled the syrup and bacon on Pa when he came home. But Pa worked hard, so a proper lady wouldn't begrudge him the extra food. *Gag*
  14. I'd say the only living Wilder relatives would be descendents of Almanzo's siblings; Alice, Royal and EJ all had children of their own. "Not for nothing had Pa always said she was as strong as a little French horse". I love that.
  15. Mary came home, amused Grace on her lap (not like that), and made fly nets. Whatever those are.
  16. The "I hate Ma" part of me always believed Ma didn't want to lose their only reliable source of income, which they pretty much did when Laura and Almanzo married.
  17. The seed wheat belonged to Almanzo, but Royal was all prepared to sell it, even though Almnazo pretty much said "hell no".
  18. Hi, Cathy: IIRC is short for "If I recall correctly" as in "IIRC Mary was a prisspot".
  19. Aunt Docia was Pa's sister (her given name was Laura Ladocia).
  20. Technically, in real life, the family didn't pay for Mary's College education, the state did. Although, it seems like it was kind of a waste of Laura's money to send Mary to College and then have her sit in a chair for the rest of her life.
  21. J is for jewels, because Blanche thought she'd hidden them in the flour and wanted a good old fashioned southern hanging.
