  1. Re the abortion issue on soaps, I'm about to really date myself here. In 1964 or 65, Lee Randolph on Another World had an abortion set up by her stepmother. I remember being shocked speechless at this being portrayed on TV. Thanks God I witnessed this at the home of a friend; my mother (lifelong Catholic) would have blown a gasket at such a storyline. Not that they showed the abortion, needless to say. We were just told it was taking place. Big stuff for that era!
  2. For the love of God, woman! "I used to be a man!" It's not that freaking hard. Rick does look like she's speaking Swahili but considering how long she's taken to deliver this one sentence, I can kind of understand his confusion. What a pair of nimrods! So I guess it goes without saying that Rick doesn't perform oral? Why doesn't that surprise me? That big-headed jerk is so getting what's coming to him and I don't even mean the transgender business; it's finding out that every word Maya speaks apparently aren't pearls of truth and wisdom after all! Who'd have guessed??? Well, other than the rest of the free world! What's the over/under on whether she'll actually get this said on Monday? And Ricky's reaction promises to be epic! I somehow don't think he'll be going to PC route, though he could surprise me....
  3. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Kenya has stirred up far more shit on this show than Porsha, who's biggest character flaw is that she's dumber than a box of rocks. Obviously she shouldn't have put her hands on Kenya but equally obviously Kenya will stop at nothing (even getting her own hair pulled) to keep the spotlight on her. She's a sociopath IMO.
  4. Well, I finally saw the WWHL segment with Kenya and Sherri Shepherd. That was a whole lot of crazy! I actually like Sherri a lot and think she's got some sense, as opposed to Kenya, who was basically rude as hell to a caller who had pretty much called her (Kenya) a phony which we all know she is. Sherri more or less told her that she's going to lose what fans she has if she keeps up that behavior and Kenya more or less said, "I don't care, bitch!" Plus there was a lot of back-and-forthing about both Sherri AND the caller calling Kenya "Kendra" which Kenya acted like was the biggest insult ever. Let's face it, how many Kenya's do any of us know? Kendra is a lot more common and well-known. But needless to say, Miss Thing gets her ass up on her shoulders about no one "getting it right"! Andy's reaction shots to some of these exchanges were golden, and I don't care much for Andy as a rule. Speaking of Andy, he needs to put his foot down and tell Kandi to keep MJ off camera. That woman acts like she's a hair away from a full-blown meltdown constantly. If this is just bad acting, I don't really want to watch that either. We get plenty of that from Nene and Kenya. If MJ ever really blows a gasket on camera, it will make the Kenya/Porsha throwdown look like the tea party it really was.
  5. Where to begin with this trainwreck? Nene: Good God, she looked enormous in that Zumanity get-up. My husband was feeling for the guys having to hoist her big ass up into the air. That should have been some hazard pay right there. Thank God she'll be back in Atlanta soon to lord it over all the commoners. I'm honestly at a loss as to how people keep asking her to do these kinds of things. She's just loud and obnoxious in my book. I've never found her to be funny and this "no one else is on my level" BS just makes her even more hard to take. If I was any of the others, I'd have to, at some point, get in her face to let her know she's not the Queen Bee she clearly imagines herself to be. Cynthia: Gets on my last nerve. She has very little personality of her own, so pulls what little she has from whoever she's spending the most time with (seems to be Peter at this moment). She's certainly beautiful for her age and I agree with other posters that Papa Smurf has a hell of a nerve criticizing her figure, which is keeping him in luxury cars and paying his other bills. I do have to wonder why she seems to have such low self-esteem . Most women who look like Cynthia have a huge sense of self-worth. Kandi: Girl, wake up! You are going to lose Todd if you continue this craziness with your mother. Her living so close to Kandi and Todd will be the death knell to that marriage. I don't know any man with any self-respect, much less one who has already been plenty abused by MJ, who would put up with that. My only hope is that Kandi is just buying the new house for her mother more as an investment. After all, who else does MJ have to leave it to when she dies? Kandi trying to buy her mother's love is never going to work. Not enough money in the world to satisfy that woman. Phaedra: Doing her best in a horrible situation. I admire the way she's raising her boys, and I'd say in some ways, she's relieved that Apollo will be gone for awhile and she won't have to fool with his trifling ass. She's had to have known this house of cards would be coming down soon, and so it has. And even if he gets out in 6 or 7 years, he'll be right back in within a few more. She just needs to protect her assets from him insofar as possible, and I'm sure she's plenty smart enough to do that. Should she apologize to Kenya? Probably, but I can't get too incensed about it because I hate Kenya, who encouraged Apollo in both large and small ways, and knew exactly what she was doing. If I were Phaedra, I would only apologize to Kenya if Kenya apologized for her transgressions toward me. Kenya: Try to find a real man. There have to be a few in Atlanta who can stand you for at least a few episodes. It's my gut feeling that she is just crazy enough that she scares guys off in next to no time. She reeks of desperation and men can always sense that, even the dumbest of them.
  6. For the poster upthread who asked why Nate would need Sam's DNA and what he would compare it to, I would assume the Medical Examiner's office has the fetus Lila was carrying. Even though Nate is no longer a cop, I'm sure he has friends in the ME's office who might still help him out by getting him a tissue sample from the fetus to compare with Sam's DNA. That could be done at an independent lab. Still not sure how this helps Nate unless he just wants to nail Sam to the barn door, but it seems like a possibility. Maybe it's while he and Rebecca are trying to get the hair sample or whatever that Sam comes in and attacks Rebecca, and Nate kills him. Honestly, why they would all participate in this coverup? I still don't understand.
  7. As a mother of three, I find it hard to believe that Mer/Der had a marathon lovemaking session that lasted from whatever time the dinner was scheduled until morning (she said they were up all night) with nary a mention or hint of any children. I can't imagine (though maybe we're supposed to believe this) that Amelia was looking after them. So this is off-the-charts unrealistic, even for these folks who clearly inhabit another universe in regards to child care. Jo: Alex is a man, which means he's stupid about feelings. Tell him how you feel, often and loudly, if you want different results. I'm going a little against the grain here by saying that I can somewhat understand how Owen would be leery of Amelia's drug-using past, especially when she was so publically outed. Doubly especially when she refused to discuss it with him. Yes, she is in recovery but if something bad happens, Hunt and the hospital will be responsible as well. I can't stand Arizona and really don't understand why Callie stayed with her as long as she did. However, I'm kind of glad she found a place to stay. It always amuses me that they act like none of these doctors couldn't go rent an apartment with the salaries you know they draw. Very unrealistic.
  8. I apologize in advance for my crudeness, but I was amazed to see that Cyrus's trick was able to walk the morning after the angry sex with Cyrus. That looked pretty violent to me! Olivia: what's left to say about her stupidity? She's kind of caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. God knows she's no saint herself, but her father is over-the-top evil, Fitz is mean as hell AND a bully (and does anyone else find him sexy at all?), and Jake is pretty much a serial killer. Talk about poor choices! She needs to back the hell away from ALL these guys and just find some uncomplicated guy who cares about her and not power and killing others. Or is that a turn-on for her? The "in the sun" BS reminds me of Meredith babbling about being "the sun" on Grey's. As someone upthread mentioned, this is just lazy writing.
  9. I've been reading this site for months and finally decided to speak up. I love this show as well, especially since they quit shooting parts of it in the dark. As far as Sam's murder is concerned, it looks like Asher and Bonnie are out, Rebecca and the 4 other interns are too obvious. Where was Annalise supposed to be when this murder took place? She was certainly at the house the last we saw. However, given her horrified reaction upon finding the blood a few episodes ago, she seems like an unlikely suspect. I can hardly wait for next week to get some of these questions answered. I'll be fit to be tied if they leave this all hanging fire over the hiatus. (BTW, what brainiac decided this concept of a two-month hiatus at this time of the year was a good one?) Could Nate have possibly murdered Sam? There just seems to be a few pieces missing to this puzzle. See you all next week!
