I loved the talk she and Mark had at the end

Acting-wise, I found that scene fascinating.

I got the sense that when she started to tear up and got that little hitch in her voice, that Sara seemed actually surprised it happened. Then she went with it and was crying for real, and Ames' reaction seemed a little surprised as well, and he got emotional too.

    And honestly, so did I.

I saw the same exact thing you did. Sara really did seem surprised/overwhelmed that the emotions were so strong and just went with it; so did Ames. I get the feeling that there is an IRL fondness between the two. Nice to work with people you honestly care about.

Tyler reminded me of OG Dan Conner from the original show’s early seasons. I was alarmed to see how heavy he was since I’m used to seeing him in replays of the Goonies or Rudy.

Yeah, Tyler does have an original-recipe Dan look to him. I have Sean Astin's body type and us big guys need love too. I was pleasantly surprised that Becky didn't dismiss him based on appearance because it looked like that was the direction the writers were going in. Thing is, go to the local Walmart on any Saturday morning and you see a dozen couples that look just like them. And that's not a bad thing - I find Lecy Goranson attractive for reasons that kind of elude me. I'd like to see Sean's character stay around, he seems like a good fit for the cast.

I hated the scene where Carly was trying to school Nina on the inner workings of Sonny (as if he’s such a complicated guy, ugh please).

Sung to the tune of Shaft - "he's a complicated man, and nobody understands him but his wooooman... Gummy Bear Mobster!" I can hear the horns now...

Yes.   The one with the distracting eyebrows.

I like to call them "unfortunate eyebrows." Only Groucho Marx could have made those things work.

It is *always* Gary’s time at the comedy club.  There are literal comedians who are performing less.

Yeah, Gary can't turn it off. He's a real laugh machine. And he had such a hard time being serious with the other Male Breast Cancer survivor. When the interaction is not all on his terms, Gary's a bit of an Ass.

Real life tends not to get in the way of a story-line on this show. Was it only me who snorted when she was referred to as "a successful businesswoman"?

I literally scoffed out loud at that. Successful businesswoman? Are they referring to her closed restaurant, or the food truck where she gives away half her food for free and never seems to move her truck from this one homeless encampment? I'm glad that at least with the show ending we wont get an annoying election storyline, I know it would just bother me. Does Gina even know what a city councilperson does? What would her platform be? Are they going to fund her campaign with Rome's teachers salary and Regina's food truck where she gives tons of food away?

Oh, her opponent is going to have such fun with the endless succession of failed businesses. But we know how Regina is going to get the remaining 1,491 signatures she needs to run for office - just track down the recipients of all the free food she's given away. While I was the first (!) to call Regina's running for public office, but becoming a social worker would have been the better, more realistic choice. And throwing your future opponent's campaign fliers in the trash? Really honorable and mature. And since the co-dependent weirdos always get what they want, we all know she's going to win despite having no freaking experience.

I get crying and being emotional throughout the Robin saga in the years when Finola first returned, but Finola has had Anna crying about a little too much about a few too many things since then. She's not the worst of it though - Valentin is. Anna will drown in his mucus before she gets a chance to recover.

I call JPS's crying expression "Diaper Rash Face."

pretty much. and i just have to love Lisel's face like. "are you serious?". like again we waited two years with Victor's "Winter is Coming" we have to be "united!" for.... what? "I'm going to poison the world?" my big thing is. how do you know this thing won't just kill everyone? lol

I had pretty much the same thoughts. Also, how creatively bankrupt are TIIC that they have to steal ideas (and steal them very badly) from another Disney Franchise?  We waited all these months for THIS?  Another climate change S/L would have been preferable.

Revived Anna: "How are we going to stop Victor?" Oh I don't know, how about (as another poster said) shooting him between the eyes while he was prancing all around Port Chuckles????  Worst. Super-Spy. Ever. She never got a License to Kill.  Only to Jay Walk.

  7. Victor! The SOB actually stole the Haunted Star!!!! First truly Cassidine thing he's ever done, other than killing one insignificant underling.

Call me loony, but I'm still hoping against hope that Luke returns by the next sweeps and teams with Robert and Laura to take Mistah Sheffield down. It would be the best way to honor GH's six decades, IMO. I wouldn't even mind if Sonny gets involved, it does seem inevitable, anyways.

Also, since Esme is probably the only soap character in history to show lasting after-effects of a bonk on the head, smart money says the amnesia is gone by next week. Really great acting by AKP today, she did a great job displaying, fear, worry and angst. But it's really time for Esme to start trusting Laura, even if it's not in her nature.

He has no idea that huge, cute baby that is probably walking and talking down below in the Haunted Star. Hell, he just realized at the end of the show that Victor had kidnapped Spencer as well.

Cute, giant baby is gonna turn out to be the Ninja that takes Victor out. Mistah Sheffield taken out by a Shaq-sized infant. This stuff writes itself.

On a serious note, it's kind of clear why Anna and Valentin didn't advance far in the WSB (Hell, Robert only got as high as Deputy Director). Hanging out in the un-safe house, making Cow eyes at each other and complaining about Lucy while Victor pranced around town doing whatever he pleased.

lol, not even mentioning Archer and the Walking Dead chick Captain, eh? (Sisko then Picard, DS9 was my Trek).

This criminal lack of appreciation of Anson Mount's Captain Pike is a knife in my heart! I am literally wearing a Strange New Worlds hoodie at this moment. Best Trek since DS9, which will always be first in my heart.

Garak would have some sardonic comments about the crushing ineptitude of the spies and schemers on this show.

Actually, I kind of gave up on the ST franchise after two episodes of Discovery, but you guys have me thinking that might have been a mistake. I have heard good things about Strange New Worlds, though. I'm such as die-hard Trekkie that I know that according to Cannon, Robert April was actually the First ST Captain, he had some kind of medical condition that required that he wear a sweater on the Bridge.

Elim Garak would devour Anna and Valentin for Lunch and then chat with Dr. Bashir about it at Quark's.

Cris Judd (1st ex-husband of Jennifer Lopez) was the choreographer and has been for a bunch of the Nurse's Balls in the past, but he wasn't that good dancer  (the one with the long black hair).

This year's NB was actually pretty good, talent-wise. Some of the best singing the event has seen in quite some time, IMO. A few of the actors seem to have some great pipes. Seems like WK/Eddie Maine has gone into retirement. It was time. His duet with Olivia awhile back was pretty decent, though.

Heh. I'm a big Scott Bakula fan, but Entrerprise just wasn't my jam until the last four episodes. And I haven't seen any Trek after that except Season 1 of Picard. But as far as faves go we're on the same page, Sisko first, then Jean-Luc. DS9 rules!

Back on topic - Mistah Sheffield running off with Liesel means that Sonny wil probably get to play the Hero in this S/L when it should probably be Robert or even Laura. #justiceforluke

Lucy, the world (I mean the Nurses Ball) can go on without you. How does she keep getting out without Anna and Val noticing?  The cabin doesn't seem that big.

Sadly, Anna continues her run as the world's worst super-spy. She continues to use civilians as assets and it goes badly, ala Lucy (so far off the rails there's no turning back now) and Eileen who is dead, dead, dead. Either Sean Donnelly was a horrible mentor (doubtful) or Anna was an awful student back in their WSB days.

In other news, Jordan looked very nice the other day on the Docks. Great ensemble with the coat, slacks and blouse. Yes, it's come to this. The show is so mediocre I'm now reduced to making fashion commentary.

I think this is the third or fourth time we’ve seen Gina giving away a ton of free meals without any sort of game plan as to how to make it work financially — first, at the restaurant to those recently laid off, then at the food truck with the homeless encampment and now with Free Food Fridays (or Friday, singular.).  No one on this show has really ever had a sound mind for business-ing, but, a throwaway line or two would work wonders.

As another poster noted, Gina apparently spends a lot of time filing for bankruptcy. IRL her Accountant would be asking, "did you turn the Food Truck into a nonprofit? That's a whole different business model you know."

Holy crap, Gina is dumb. Why would she think that this "Free Food Friday" would be an ongoing thing? I hate politicians, but I'm going "This would be way too expensive to maintain like this." I mean, if Gina is able to convince some other food truck owners to do the same thing on Fridays for a while, more power to them. It's a good cause, and I wish them well. But it's not sustainable for a city to do this every Friday.

But, yeah, what a ringing endorsement the councilwoman got from Gina. That's the only thing that mattered, and I knew it from the get-go.

I'm falling out of love with Regina and it's making me sad. Could she be any more naive? However, it's clear she's going into politics now, somehow get elected and then run the entire city into the ground just like her food businesses. Le Sigh.

I just wanted to scream at Eddie: "It is okay to tell your child that he's being rude with his questions and not everything is his business!"  For example, that Nicole is in the place Eddie leased because she was escaping from an abusive marriage is not actually Theo's business.  Remember that you are the adult in your relationship with your son.

Yeah, that was really rough to watch.  Growing up in a Black household in the 1960s, the first "how do you know each other" question would have been met with "go outside and play. This is grown folks' business, not yours."

Aw, poor Mark. I think his teacher was right in her explanation, but I also agree with her that Mark's smart enough that he can find another means to achieve his dream

Probably an UO here - particularly in light of my dislike for all things Whoopi and a personal bias based on 35 years spent working in education and social services. Teachers are in unique positions to move their students to better places in life. It's not their job to decide who wants something "more." Mark is looking to break the Connor Cycle of Failure and Dysfunction, and the Whoopi character blocked that. IMO, her holding Mark back had more to do with her animosity towards Jackie than him.

Plus, Whoopi plays the same "omniscient," cranky curmudgeon in every damn part I've ever seen her in. I've never seen any "talent" with her, only Ego.

I couldn’t tell if the Nurses’ Ball discussion at Charlie’s suffered from stilted dialog or poor acting, but it seemed really off.  Reminded me of the scenes several years ago where they did product placement for pasta sauce in affiliation with Go Red for Women day.

Oh yeah, I remember Alexis telling someone that Prego Spaghetti Sauce was "the working woman's friend."🤣Like Natasha ever had time to cook something other than Popcorn.😆

Jessie Brewer - I vaguely remember from back when my Mother watched GH and all the Nurses wore those White Caps and the sparkly white, starched uniforms. Seems like eons ago.

I guess Regina is trying so desperately to help this guy because he was the last meal she served? If she spends all of her time and money (even if its miles) on trying to save him and his daughter she's going to serving her last meal from her food truck soon, having run yet another business into the ground because she spends all of her time and resources trying to rescue random people.

That was some UCG last night when Regina told Sophie (paraphrasing here) "Well, when my last Restaurant failed....". Regina, here's an idea. Stop trying to save random people who haven't asked for your help and don't really seem to want it. Instead, how about finding the Boston SCORE Chapter and taking some courses around not running one business after the next into the ground? Either that or go to school and become a Social Worker. But doing both jobs ain't exactly working out.

    1 hour ago, tennisgurl said:

Rome works a lot, Regina is spending all of her time trying to find housing for this guy, so now they're just sticking Sophie with him. Those scenes were at least cute between them, maybe helping Walter will give her something to do, although she really needs to find some friends her own age, its too bad her date was apparently lame.

At this point, does Sophie even have anything in common with young people her own age? Hanging around with the late-30s and early-40s pack of co-dependent weirdos, can she even hold a conversation with her contemporaries? Maybe that's why the off-screen date was so unfulfilling for her.

Since Esme's amnesia appears to be real, can you imagine how un-nerving it must be to be surrounded by all these psychos and sketchy characters?  Of the people in her immediate orbit only Laura, Liz, and Diane seem to be mostly ok and even Liz has issues with Esme. She starts with Ryan and Heather as parents and it all goes downhill pretty quickly.

I don’t think the “Theo is basically behaving like a kid years younger than he actually is” thing would be as glaring if Sophie and Danny weren’t written as fully autonomous, completely independent adults, who have nothing better to do than hang out with their dead dad’s adult friends.  Like, you’re either immature for your age or you’re signing up for your 401K at age 16.

Now that you mention it, by spending (apparently) most of their available time with Jon's friends Danny and Sophie are clearly looking for surrogate parents. Gary clearly has an "older brother/father-figure" presence with Danny and Regina is definitely serving as a substitute mom for Sophie.
