And, I'm sure she'll back out at the last second, or they'll get interrupted, but I really wish Lois does just tell Sonny.  I don't care if it's "none of her business."

I think the returning writers kept Lois around solely for the Big Reveal. This way, the Beans will be spilled with no real repercussions for the series regulars. Her still being around makes no sense otherwise. Plus, with that " I know who really turned Carly and Drew into the feds" line there's absolutely NO way our Sonny will let anyone stop Lois from finishing the statement...unless Nina herself somehow rushes in and fesses up. Either way, this ludicrous S/L starts to wrap up.

And then we see Esme alone on Christmas Eve at the grave of her psycho father. And alone again on Christmas Day. Nice empathy there from Nik's family.

Also, where did Esme get that nonsense about Christmas Eve - My Birthday!!!! - being the "loneliest day of the year?"  Aaargh.

Other than that, I thought her graveside monologue was pretty good. Her reasons for keeping mum on regaining her memory were well-thought-out and actually made sense.

  3. And we're back!  Seems like ages. Lots to unpack. Despite myself, I loved Lois and Oliva's little "who's on first" routine with the NYC subway system, with even Brooke Lynn chiming in. Been damn near 15 years since I've ridden those lines, given what's going on over in the city these days you couldn't pay me enough.

Love that JE rises above even the most pedestrian material she's given. Far and away the cast's best actor, bar none. Did anyone else pick up a strong Marisa Tomei "My Cousin Vinny" tone coming from RF/Lois in the subway skit?

In other news, even though Portia has warmed up to Spencer, she's still an un-likeable so-and-so. When Curtis is the most compassionate one in the room, trouble abounds.

Also enjoy the heavy use of the vets these days. I'm liking Felica more now than I ever did in the 80s and 90s.

TJ is such a judgey McJudgerson (this is why Adam will be a better doctor). He's acting like Kristina will decide at 6 or 7 months pregnant "Nope, I've changed my mind. I'm not going to go through with this." I fear for that baby weighed down with his expections,

This is why the S/L bugs. If TJ has such a low opinion of Kristina he shouldn't let her carry his child. And he shouldn't be constantly bitching about her, it's his sister-in-law for fuck's sake. The A-hole gene seems to be strong in those Ashford men.

Ava was on fire today.  No cowering this time.   "Have I accepted the Lord..."  LOL.

Wish Ava would remember her legacy. All it would take is one sentence to Cyrus "Do you remember that my Maiden name is JEROME? You wander around town all day like a lost soul. What if one day you just...disappeared? Never be heard from again?" Walks away. End Scene.

I thought Ava was acting really strange while talking to Dante too.  What in hell was that?  She was acting seductive, teasing, and mysterious.  Not a great way to act when a detective is questioning you about a murder IMO.  Maybe she was supposed to be drunk off her ass.

MW's acting has been "off" for several episodes now. I'm not sure if she's making poor acting choices, confused by her character's motivations or just getting bad direction, but it's getting more and more noticeable.

I’ve been on the Barge, and I was hoping the tag for Tyler would have been his last line to Lucky with the Russian accent-yes even though he wasn’t playing current Nik.

@GHScorpiosRule - Wondered where you've been. You've been missed. I love that scene so much I bookmarked on YT..."and who says I haven't been using an accent the whole time?" The one, true Nicholas (YT Link)

Sounds like he had ordered the standard Sad Single Man's Thanksgiving meal for himself ahead of time, and expected to be back in Port Charles for the holiday.

Chances are the Standard Sad Single Man's Thanksgiving Dinner came from IHOP. Has anyone ever seen a picture of those things? The company doesn't even try to make them look appealing.

Poor Austin. The showrunners cared so little for the character that a series regular didn't even discover his corpse. Wonder if RoHo is really done here? He wouldn't be a good fit on B&B or Y&R.

Elsewhere, I'm kind of "meh" on Lois' mother. I've seen the actress in a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies lately (she's great in Haul Out the Holly). But this Brooklyn-born-and-bred boy was appalled by her inability to correctly pronounce "Nostrand Avenue" the other day when talking about the Church where she plays Bingo. I guess no one else on the set knew how to pronounce it properly either, and she just said it weirdly and quickly. Only a NYC native would have caught it anyway, and even that's not guaranteed.

That's it no pizza just the alarm?

I actually liked the Thanksgiving cliffhanger. It's 50/50 that it will be more Pizza at Casa Q. The uncertainty is kinda cool.

The apparent RL affection between NLG and KeMo always warms my heart. The hand-holding, intertwining of arms and hugging is sweet. It really looks like KeMo considers NLG a surrogate mother figure.

  10. My take regarding Austin: when the victim bleeds from the mouth after a shooting or other trauma, they are usually dead, dead, dead (TM Trelaine, The Squire of Gothos).

I wonder if RoHo has it written into his contract that every character he plays has to be killed after a year or two so he can keep his acting chops sharp by taking on new roles in the same show?

Shouldn't Cody have his eyes closed while the Deceptor is on? I don't think blinding your customers is going to help Deception, heh.

I can't stand Curtis. Or Portia. Thank you for our daughter. I doubt we will ever see Taggert on this show again. Talk about another undeserved outcome where they handed Curtis a daughter on a silver platter, while the man who raised her got completely iced out of her life. I actually FFed most of those scenes which felt great.

Re Curtis - the Actor has an annoying habit of delivering some of his lines with a certain amount of condescension, as when Drew talked about all the things he missed while in Prison, Curtis quickly and blithely replied, "yeah that must have been tough." It bugs.

Her hair, and Sasha's too, looks perpetually unwashed, and that orange dress was not flattering to Sasha, who is gorgeous.

It says a lot that I'm noticing women's fashion on this show. That dress made the actress look like she was pregnant.

Olivia and Eddie both seem to have lungs of steel, since they both have been underwater for quite some time. Also, as said, how could anyone be found in a lake at night?

Ned & Olivia = Aquaman & Mera. Or Namor & Namorita if you're a Marvel Fan.

Also, even though I have less than zero interest in Olivia, LiLo looked very pretty in the underwater scenes, kind of like a Mermaid, which was probably what the Director was aiming for.

I liked Anna slapping Valentine and pointing out she wouldn't have shot if she knew her stalker was a child.

Best I've liked Anna in a very, very long time. Hopefully, the reveal finally ends a couple that really didn't have very much chemistry to begin with.

Spencer's anger and behavior was over the top.  Trina will probably take him back but she shouldn't.  He isn't Aces father and I glad she pointed out Esme doesn't need to give him custody.

Run Trina, run! Spencer's showing the obsessive/possessive gene that all of the Cassadine men seem to have, and it doesn't get better.

In other news, Blaze and Kristina make a very attractive, appealing couple. The Kristina actress looks like a mini-Alexis and has captured a lot of Natasha's mannerisms and speech cadence. Best recast in a very long time.

Molly #46 - Quite possibly one of my all-time favorite GH posts. Do you have all the Molly trading cards?  I'll trade you two Molly #12s for one Molly #43. That will complete my set.

I did keep wondering though, is this show ever gonna wake up about LW?  Maybe she was a leading lady 10  years ago, I really can't even remember.  But here are some current facts; LW has ZERO chem with men on GH.  There is not one man on GH that she has an ounce of chem with.  All of her relationships are unbelievable as sexual.  She had zero sexual or romantic chem with MB since I've been watching them.  They had to break up Carson because it was like watching Ma and Pa climb the stairs to the marital bed.  They insist on making her their leading lady, but a leading lady MUST have SEXUAL chemistry with multiple men.  She has zero with any man.  It's a huge, glaring issue.

From this guy's perspective, there's nothing remotely attractive about Carly. Yes, from a physical standpoint, she's gorgeous. However, her overall attitude, arrogance, entitlement and downright awfulness make the character (not LW) absolutely repugnant. When she smirks, juts out that chin and starts spewing invectives, even the wolves go running for the hills. Nothing even vaguely soft, feminine or alluring about her whatsoever.

In other news, after a moment of promise, Austin is back to being a great big zero.

Cyrus constantly seemed baffled that people will not accept his apology or believe that he is sincere or think that he's not reformed. JK makes this face where Cyrus is just so deeply hurt by their judgement and like he's about to have a breakdown and cry his little heart out and all I can think is "Oh, Cyrus. You're not Sonny.

It's also so disingenuous and hypocritical since Cyrus still wants to be a major Mob boss. If TIIC have no real plans for him, I'd like to see JK move over to the Yellowstone Franchise. He'd be a perfect fit with Costner moving on.

  17. Poor Cyrus. Doesn't seem to have any real plan except lurching around Port Chuckles asking for forgiveness from people that he knows he needs to stay away from. My take is deep down inside Cyrus is a very isolated, lonely and insecure man looking for acceptance. Look at how desperately he seeks Laura's approval. if Laura were smart she'd use the neediness to control him. I know she's tried in the past, but now Laura needs to put a little "ummph" into the effort.

  18. Whoa. Pedro Pascal, Mick Jagger, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga in the past two weeks. Looks like SNL is at the point where stunt casting is needed to survive.

Other than the Jada skit, there wasn't much "there" there last night.

It felt like he was telling Portia if he can't pound pound pound jackhammer style away at her for 7 minutes, he's just not going to bother. No matter that there's plenty of other ways to have sex, or be intimate. If he can't go to poundtown, no dice, lady.

Very interesting post Luna. Maybe times have changed, but back in the day, seven minutes would get a guy labeled as "Quick Draw McGraw," if you know what I'm saying. But mileage can and does vary.

Sadly, at this point, Portia has no redeeming character traits that I can see. Given how far Curtis has fallen maybe they're made for each other.

Martin was pretty chill until he folded like a wet paper bag under Dumbdelore's weak threats. Now he's ruined and I no longer crave Hummingbird Cake. Although with my a1c level, that was probably always a no-no.

I agree.  And then she was smiling weird, like she didn’t want the attention off her.

Taylor Swift always looks weird to me. Kinda like a Preying Mantis.

So I know this is fiction and the writers can make up any old shit they like. But Bensonhurst is a real location. And it absolutely has changed. Significantly! It's mostly Russian, Chinese and some Muslims now. Sure there are still Italians and of course they hold their traditions close to their hearts. And there are absolutely a couple of Italian restaurants left, along with a bunch of pizza places. No arcade. Ever. No real bars where the locals would hang out. None of that.

I guess it bugs because I lived there. Thirty years ago, it was absolutely as Lois described. Even 20 years ago. But once the Families started leaving, everything else changed.

So true!  I had planned to post the same thing. I grew up in Brooklyn during the 60s and 70s - the Bensonhurst Olivia and Lois reminisce about ceased to exist in the early 1990s. But I guess these writers have no real reference point.

In other news, I'm really going to miss the Evil Warden. Her Braid Game was top-notch. If she only knew how to smile, she'd make the cover of Black Hair Magazine, if it still exists. In the 80s and 90s, Anita Baker was on the cover every damn month. But her Hair Game was pretty fierce too.

It's not cliche at all yet unfortunately because there's a dark-skinned Black girl in it. The amount of Dark-skinned Black girls getting laid on soaps (not mixed or light-skinned Black Girls) is behind minimal. Not to mention I loved that this was sort of Spencer's vengeance against Rory, hardly the motivation but he is petty like that it was a nice full circle that NYC is where he chose to take her and even the hand-positioning was a callback. To see a Black Girl wined, dined and romanced like this hasn't happened enough on soaps to be cliche but I sure hope we get to that point one day.

I also want to compliment whoever was responsible for the lighting since dark skin is so often lit terribly on soaps and other shows and they did a great job here to let TA's luminous skin shine.

Preach. Overall, their trip was handled well. Man, I'm gonna miss the replacement writers - they are a significant upgrade from the regular crew. Hopefully, some of them stay around.

I've a torrent of mixed emotions around Sprina. As I've mentioned before, TA really resembles pictures of my Mom at a comparable age, right down to the skin tone, so the Sprina love scenes have me reaching for the remote. Also, when relieved of the uber-serious, heavy stuff, NC comes across as fun, very charming, and prince-like. It will be interesting to see where the regular writers go with this.
