  1. Nothing ever came of this. No charges were ever made against her. No one knows for sure what happened, but legally - it was just false allegations. So ABC has no worries of her being a legal liability.
  2. YAYAYAYAAYAYAYAY! Derek F is up !!!! Did he say the magic words: "I evict to vote you, Derek " ?????? Please tell me he did !
  3. In other words, she's pretty dull and boring.
  4. Oh please, Kyland...during nominations say these magic words: "I eviction to nominate Derek F". I don't care who goes up against him, just get that guy out of the house !!!!!
  5. Another piece of eye candy has been evicted. They best leave Xavier, Kyland and even DereX alone !!! For the record, it's been many seasons since I've seen any player filled with such undeserved self-importance as I've seen with Derek F this season. Between the unsolicited hugs to every player he likes to dole out because he feels 'they need a hug from him' (Geez, I'd firmly push him away if he came up to me like that, uninvited) , and his unsolicited advice he likes to share - this guy has an incredible sense of self-importance. Let's pray he's next to go.
  6. Apparently much less than those tuning in. If those tuning out had any impact at all, the show wouldn't be the #1 Daytime News Talk Show for the 2020-21 season, and they wouldn't be seeing their best ratings in 24 seasons.
  7. News on potential new cohost - https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/07/22/could-kimberly-guilfoyle-be-the-views-new-trump-republican/
  8. Once again, to reiterate the point that ABC sees 'The View ' as a 'news show' and not an 'entertainment talk show' as it started out in 1997, here are today's headlines from "The Wrap" - which covers the 2020-21 season of all shows, now that the season officially ended last week.... "‘The View’ Tops All Daytime Talk and News Shows for First Season in 24-Year History" So it's safe to bet that ABC is popping the champagne over these headlines which broke this afternoon. Their transition from moving the show from their 'entertainment' division over to their 'news division' a few seasons ago has definitely paid off. Their decision really focus on politics and other controversial news headlines the past few seasons has indeed paid off. It's not only the #1 talk show, but the #1 news show -beating the competition on daytime TV from CNN, FOX, MSNBC, NEWSMAX, etc. Says The Wrap: “The View” has finished Season 24 as the No. 1 daytime talk or news program in both households and total viewers — the first time that’s ever been the case. The first-place finish counts all daytime network and syndicated talk shows and news programming. It does not count daytime shows like “The Young and the Restless,” “Judge Judy” and “The Price is Right.” https://www.thewrap.com/the-view-tops-daytime-tv-ratings-news-talk-first-time-ever-season-24-meghan-mccain-exit/
  9. That's something completely different than the topic at hand. She's not the only one who has a career because of their father. The topic is whether John McCain arranged in some way for her to get this job offer from ABC, with the help of Whoopi. The factual answer is "NO". No wishful thinking will change that.
  10. I think everyone truly wants to BELIEVE this is what happened, due to their deep-rooted hatred for Meghan. But facts are facts, and there is nothing factual that her father 'reached out to his friend Whoopi to ensure that she got the invite' . That's wishful thinking. Don't forget, ABC was negotiating with Meghan a few years prior to join the show, and she dropped out of negotiations when they were also in discussions with Sarah Palin to join the show that same season. If he was going to get involved with his daughter's hiring, that would have been the season he would've stepped in and told them to end negotiations with Palin and hire his daughter.
  11. Actually, one of the main reasons she said she was leaving was because she didn't want to uproot her family from DC and move back to NYC (as they're supposed to be returning to the studio in September). She wanted to stay in DC and be with her family, and decided to raise her child there -so yes, her family comes before work (according to her reasoning). Cindy was correct.
  12. Today, with media coverage about McCain's departure, there's been plenty of talk that Debbie M from Season 1 is in 'serious negotiations' to return as a host. Please no ! We already have Sara on the show - we don't need two hosts out of their league. There's a reason why she was fired in Season 1. Please - no, no, no ! One TV critic also explained why Ana won't be asked to fill the vacant seat as a host - and that's because she's not a 'real conservative voice' but a RINO. Something I've been saying all along. ABC, he explained, wants a real conservative voice on the show to represent conservative Americans watching the show. Ana, on the other hand, is a self-described Republican who agrees with everything the Democrats put forward, and everything the other liberal hosts have to say. (I've said this all along).
  13. Well, it looks like Cindy McCain put to bed any false notion that John McCain had anything to do with Meghan being hired for the show. She - and the hosts agreed - said that he encouraged her and was very persuasive for her to accept the offer. He believed it would be a good fit for her and for her to spread her wings. BTW, Cindy McCain said more than once she was so happy for Meghan choosing family over work - and now Cindy will be able to spend more time with her grand-daughter. Since Meghan has been in her home in Washington DC from the start of COVID, and hasn't left her home - why hasn't Cindy been able to spend more time with them - especially since they were all vaxed ? Her daughter is working remotely with her daughter a few feet away from her - how was working for an hour or so hindering how much time she spent with her growing family, or how much time Cindy could be there with the new family? Also, Meghan said her mother's new job as Ambassador will have her relocating to Rome, Italy. I guess in that case, Cindy doesn't care about being away from her daughter and grand-daughter ? It's best for work to take her away from the family, but not Meghan ? They should really rethink their priorities before going forth in public with them. Sunny said her friends got the vax because she was so 'transparent' when her in-laws died of COVID, so they got it because of them. Really ? Her in-laws deaths from COVID were that impressive to her friends that they got the vax because of it ? Really Sunny? I doubt that very much.
  14. I will gladly apologize to everyone if someone can provide proof that this is what happened and it's not a case of remembering things the way some wish to remember it. Any link to a an interview /article where this is said as fact will do. I will definitely apologize to all if someone can show solid proof. Otherwise, I will go by what Whoopi and Sunny told Meghan on July 1.
  15. Are there four episodes all together ? I watched the first mind-numbing one, and haven't bothered with the others. If only three more, maybe I'll finish.
  16. For the love of all that's Holy, can someone in production please get DereF a bra ? And a girdle will help tremendously, too. Please and Thank You !
  17. If the network wanted to keep it to a middle ground, they would have left it in the entertainment division of ABC. But they moved it to the news division a few seasons ago, and today they are promoting it as the #1 Daytime Talk Show viewers turn to for news. They're not going back to a well-rounded show, not when they're branding this as a 'news show' and the ratings have paid off. https://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/media/2021/08/05/meghan-mccain-after-the-view/5471015001/ "McCain has been good for "The View." "The View" has been good for McCain. Ratings stayed pretty even for her tenure, as reported in the Wrap, at about 2.7 million viewers per episode. This season the audience has grown to an average of 2.79 million viewers. At a time when broadcast ratings are shrinking all over, "The View" became the most-watched daytime talk show on TV."
  18. There's an article today in an Arizona newspaper, and it covers Meghan's departure. Just about everything I've been saying since she announced her leaving is written in the article - basically, all her tantrums, all her arguments, all her disobedience towards her cohosts and guests have been a cash cow for ABC, and that's all that matters to the network. https://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/media/2021/08/05/meghan-mccain-after-the-view/5471015001/ "In many ways McCain, who joined the show in 2017, has been the perfect symbol of the moment, a moment that is passing, so her exit makes sense. McCain is white, privileged (she is the daughter of the late Sen. John McCain), annoyed about everything and seemingly oblivious to her advantages — the saying about being born on third base and thinking you hit a triple comes to mind often when listening to her views. But those views made news — some sites covered her utterances practically every day — and making news is important to “The View.” Any attention is good attention for a show like that because attention translates into interest, and interest into viewers. Viewers equal ratings, and ratings turn into money. People liked watching McCain, or liked complaining about watching her. That kind of attraction is a valuable TV commodity. "
  19. You are wrong. This was discussed in detail on the show when she announced she was leaving on July 1. They said after she accepted the job offer (which her father encouraged her to do), he was a guest on the show and sat between Sunny and Whoopi. He asked both of them to "look after his daughter" and Whoopi believes it's because he knew he didn't have long to live. Nothing was ever mentioned about him getting her the job on 'The View'. She was already on a panel on a FOX talk show, so she wasn't in need of a job. She had been part of the panel for two years, and she has always said she was happy there.
  20. Every day, Meghan adds a new member to her family. On Monday, Clay Aiken was 'her brother' and today, Janice Dean was 'her sister'. I guess she doesn't like the real siblings she already has, otherwise she wouldn't be adding more to the family every other day.
  21. When in it's 25 seasons have they not been nasty to each other ? It's been part of the show's DNA from the first season starting with the tension and nastiness between Joy and Star Jones and festered from there...
  22. Last I checked, they have Sunny Hostin from ABC News on 'The View'. She still serves as their Senior Legal Analyst and Correspondent for ABC News while hosting 'The View'. 👍 As far as other competent women who work on their other shows, and women from the local affiliates - they have had them guest hosting on the show repeatedly. Maybe they have offered them jobs on the show when a seat was vacant, and they refused for whatever reason. We don't know for sure, but what we do know is many have been given the chance in the guest host chair. So I think that takes care of that, too.
  23. AS another season with Whoopi comes to a close (her fourteenth!) , I realize why Whoopi is there... To learn how to read off of a monitor. She's made progress, albeit slowly. over the 14 seasons.
  24. Has anyone caught the promos ABC has been running the past few days - even during the show ? They are gearing up for September, that's for sure... ABC is promoting itself as the #1 network where Americans get their "news" - and they tout "GMA" as the #1 morning show, "ABC World News Tonight" as the #1 network news, and yes - "The View" as the #1 daytime talk show. They make it very clear that they are the #1 network news source, and these three #1 shows are the shows where Americans are getting their 'news' on network (not cable) TV. As I have pointed out all season, 'The View' has evolved in the past 25 seasons. They are now part of ABC News division, and they are pushing this as a source for news and information. So for those viewers who caution 'this isn't "Crossfire" ' and long for the days of Meredith dressing up as a hot dog instead, you will be very disappointed in the upcoming season. You may want to catch 'The Talk' or 'The Real' instead and see if one of those hosts will be dressing up like a hot dog. It's not happening here on this show. ABC has ditched the 'entertainment talk show' format and is pushing a 'news talk show' which covers politics, racial issues, health issues, law & order issues, economic issues, etc. for discussion among the hosts. This has been their ratings juggernaut. I think that will be reflected on who they eventually choose to replace Meghan.
  25. I don't think she had to verbally say this. Everyone who turns into the show each day can see she doesn't care about what she looks like in public. That's a given. No surprises there. Can someone tell me why ABC felt the need to consider Gov Cuomo's scandal as 'breaking news' ? It's only breaking news to those in NY - in the other forty-nine states we have our own governors with their own scandals. I could see if he was the President or running for the Presidency this year; then it would be national news. But a governor caught up in sexual misconduct in his own office is for his constituents - not the rest of the country.
