  1. At the end of assigning a take, Bethenny reiterates that this is not what the job will be doing. Every. Time! So what is the point exactly? Oh that’s right, exposure for B’s thousand substandard products. Shame it’s NOT entertaining!
  2. What was most glaring to me in the horrendous footage was the disconnect between what Ysabel was saying about her pain and Kody saying he didn’t understand why they need to do the surgery. It made me wonder about what Christine said earlier about being seen by others as ‘dramatic’ and acting like a ‘princess.’ It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he dismisses anything Christine’s kids say as being ‘over the top just like their mother.’ 🙄🤬 Which is just so appalling but it also fits with his complete lack of empathy for Truely when they visited Robyn’s house and she was obviously very upset (and he said and did nothing). Regardless of how/why he was so disgusting in obviously not caring or having any empathy for Ysabel, it was was actually a bit triggering to watch. (I had a selfish, cold, uncaring dad too).
  3. I think that last scene where Meri took Christine away was such an insight and confirmation of what a gross ‘keep sweet’ culture they still very much live in. It was like a masterclass in how to invalidate someone’s feelings (and closely resembles arguments given to women to stay in domestic violence situations). “look at the mountain” Translates to distract yourself, what you’re feeling and expressing is unacceptable. She’s basically saying to Christine be quiet, you’re breaking the rules. “don’t say that!” No translation necessary - literal suppression of honest, emotional expression. ”you’re hurting right now” Sadly, rather than said in compassion, this was said as a reason to be quiet and not express how Christine really feels ”you’re not a quitter” Shaming Christine for daring to give voice to her needs and leave rather than continuing to suffer. Implying there is pride in her staying with an abusive neglectful partner (and shame in leaving) ”you know what I’ve been through” Again shaming Christine by implying Christine hasn’t suffered as much as Meri and therefore has no right to consider leaving. “make it enough” Implying Christine’s pain is her fault, she just needs to work harder. The whole interaction was scary. Meri urgently invalidated Christine’s pain, pressuring her to be quiet and basically “keep sweet.”
  4. Popping in to say I’ve seen more emotion from Janelle in these COVID episodes than I’ve seen in her from her in the last decade of episodes. I was shocked to see her why last week thinking about missing Kody 😳 But I also think she has some strange attitudes towards the virus, might be a difference in political opinions, but she definitely seems the most deeply affected by the pandemic (so far).
