  1. Does his girlfriend play With Enough Plastic Surgery I am Attainable Barbie in the movie?
  2. My schedule shows it playing tonight at 10pm (Pacific Time). No puppies in sight, but that certainly doesn't guarantee that they won't turn up.
  3. This is the perennial problem with Project Runway though - the judging is wildly uneven and unpredictable. Laurence is sticking to what she does best and the judges keep her safe; in the episode Rami left, Brandon didn't recognize his style in the dress and he was sent home.
  4. I'm pretty sure you're not an outlier! I've been rooting for him since the first episode and I'm guessing there are others. I really like Salmah too and I'm rooting for her for 2nd 😄
  5. This actually was less cringe-worthy than it has been in a while, and a couple of them have actually been allowed to show they have some cooking knowledge, rather than being presented as completely useless. The mystery box challenge wasn't bad (I'd have been tempted to give the lychee woman half a point for being in the ball park), and getting cow tongue was positively impressive. Still too many unnecessary and unfunny cut aways and sound effects, like the offended duck - just get rid of them. These are the ones that stood out to me, during the cooking, before the tasting. For my benefit to look back on if I make it through watching, just to see how poor my judgement is and how far from the judges I am. Yes - green hair Jessica, gay green jacket Charles, Allegra, Sami No - professional advisor woman, James, blonde (not beauty queen) duck lips woman, Terri, Kermit. And here's my countdown until someone comments on how pleased they were to see professional advisor woman had braided her hair so it wasn't in the food. Ten, nine. eight . . .
  6. Thanks for posting the original one, even though it didn't work -- it got me to right place in the end!
  7. Your IMDb link didn't work for me, but I'm guessing it was to this? https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0546797/
  8. Glad to hear it! I don't have much hope for mine 😁
  9. I find Will Ferrell the opposite of funny and can't bear to watch him, except, ironically, in the cowbell skit for some reason (sorry).* And then, just the other day I found him tolerable in the Barbie movie, possibly because his appearance was limited and he was somewhat muted, and perhaps also because otherwise I enjoyed the film so much. * After years of hearing how funny and iconic and unmissable blah, blah, blah, SNL is/was, when I finally saw it I found it completely overrated and rarely funny, with the cowbell skit being a rare exception. Sorry (again) for yucking on so many people's yums.
  10. I don't read many mysteries/suspense novels but I also like Val McDermid. I just finished In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware - less gritty and dark (despite the title!) than McDermid, but quite clever and evocative, and well-written. One of those "protagonist wakes up covered in blood and gradually gets to the bottom of it" mysteries. A quick read that I enjoyed, and I'll probably put something else by her on my library list.

    Barbie (2023)

I had never heard of "him" before the movie and I am still gob smacked at the idea that Sugar Daddy Ken was a real thing. (Loved Rob Brydon.)
  12. Quite a few well-known actors started in commercials in order to pay the bills and get their faces out there. https://bestlifeonline.com/celebrities-old-commercials/ Courtney Cox kills this Tampax ad: Here's Not Your Regular Stanley Tucci. And did you know Bryan Cranston had piles?
  13. I tell myself that actors who I admire do commercials in order to have more money to donate to the endless good causes they're asked to or choose to support. For example, I don't mind George Clooney selling whatever coffee that is because he's known to be a generous donor and the ads are innocuous. I lose respect for actors who make themselves look stupid or who endorse shady stuff or are selfish bastards running through fortunes on gold bathroom fixtures.
  14. Sorry this is weighing on your mind. Be sure to remind us closer to the date so we can beam over extra healing thoughts and prayers and virtual hugs.
  15. Imagine an Anne Geddes photo + the music from the ad!
  16. I'd never seen this before and it is super cute, but if it shows up where I am I'll still have to mute it because the angelic music is barf inducing to me.
  17. The designers and judges do know don't they that you can buy "sauna suits" made out of neoprene where the object is to make you sweat? Brittany's model looked like the forgotten member of the Village People who got left behind in the 70s to dance with Kara Saun's disco queen.
  18. Thank you! After I posted it I realised I'd missed a couple of spots and so I filled them in and then even did the grass and background, which I don't often do because I can't be bothered. What I posted I did with Crayola markers, 10 packs of fine line and broad line, and then I did the background and grass with pencils from the 12 pack Crayola pre-sharpened colored pencils box. I think I probably also got the book from Krogers. There are lots of options and price points, but for a rank amateur and artistically challenged, kind of careless doofus with a pretty short attention span like me, this works for me.
  19. When I saw who was posting I realized what the bolded meant, but I do love my initial thought that you had found proof of extraterrestrial life.
  20. When I was growing up in the 60s, TV broadcasts didn't even start until the early evening. These do sound good, but do they have cinnamon? I can take it in small doses, but the excess in flavors and scents prevalent around Halloween and Thanksgiving make me feel ill. For some reason I can eat my body weight in Speculoos/Biscoff.
  21. I'm a lightweight colourer and just use the cheap Crayolas (often $1 for a pack of ten at Target or Krogers). I also look out for the "easy" books because I'm impatient, but I do find it calming and satisfying, and a good replacement in the summer, when my hands get too sweaty for my easy peasy scarf knitting.
  22. Actually, if we're going to get picky about the origins and names of a dish, fish and chips are traditionally British, not English.
  23. In all honesty, I don't think there were a top three, just a top two and a bunch of interchangeable others. (A couple of weeks ago I predicted it would be Brad, Salmah, and "someone".)
  24. Yeah, and they have similar challenges on other shows where the contestants have to perform in front of cameras, and they're usually also train wrecks, but 20 minutes is completely unreasonable. (I really wanted to see a clip of whichever QVC person commented on the alien eyelashes, because you know someone did.)
