  1. Would Theresa give up the job she worked so hard to build? I know that she said that she would, but I think it would be a very hard decision. And being Gerry's money manager in nowhere near the same. My ick moment was when he made all the lifelong commitments to Leslie before his date with Theresa. Those were strong promises to make when he still had deciding to do.
  2. Interesting that after last week's chat about electric vs internal combustion cars, this week they seemed to be driving with a manual transmission -- I thought I heard Lena grind the gears for a bit. Phil told us at the start of the show that Slovenia had been0 independent for 32 years. So any viewer that got it wrong gets behind Lena and Garrett! Going down a slope is usually harder since you have to "brake" as you go, Several Runners said that the binoculars were a bit fuzzy *they didn't have the crystal clear view that we did) and If Lena was nauseous, that would have made it harder to tell 7 from 1 or to see the lines on the 9s, This week's chart:
  3. I'm not sure how they make it informative. Any kind of PSA, in the show or after, is going to seem kind of weird. But it's a moot point so i won't say more. At least one local knew what they wanted without looking it up. One racer asked for a cologne that had a 4 digit name and got the answer immediately.
  4. Start times went from 6:42 for Greg and John to 9:18 for Robbin $ Chelea Another mix-up for end times: I thought that was weird too. Maybe now that "Munchhausen by proxy" is a known psychological condition, it might be confusing to use his name.
  5. Postpartum depression is very serious -- sometimes it takes either the mom or the child -- so I don't blame her at all for flying home on the first plane. Me too please!
  6. I hated that. They should have received a massive penalty for not following the "one-for-one" rule -- it's unfair to teams who do follow the rules (I see this All The Time on Chopped: "You didn't use all the basket ingrediants but we like your sob story better..."). I don't think they deserved either Golden Brick and it makes it difficult to watch the show.
  7. I didn't think there were that many unmarked rickshaws to make a "needle in a haystack" task, and previous teams cleared the way for later ones to a major extent.
  8. Race results so far (the lower the better) Todd and Ashlie seem to be the most consistent but everyone else is jumping around like crazy!
  9. If there are shenanigans involved, I call it for Bruce "miraculously" finding the idol with literally seconds to spare. I've found that a lot of Black men put Black women below anyone else, and Bruce definitely seems like the type (also holding a grudge against Emily over an off-hand remark 2 or 3 weeks later???) Plus the fact that she had him pegged from the get-go -- everyone bought into his act until they could all see how fake it was -- made her a target. I'm hard-of-hearing, too, and depend on Closed Captioning for all the shows I like.
  10. That wouldn't be fair to the locals though. If you have one group arrive 6 hours after another, that means that the people involved with the task have to stay 6 hours plus the time of the task. As it is, those arriving late to a bunch get less rest than those arriving early. I'm not sure that they could tell how difficult the task was before getting on the boat. And as others have said, they may have needed to get on the boat to get to the next clue.
  11. I put this whole Uche/Lydia/Aliyah mess ckearly on Production. First, they want is to believe that they had NO idea that Uche and Lydia had gotten together so recently. That means they did no research at all, especially not talking to their friends about who they had been with. Lydia is not that common a name, and Uche??? OK, so they find out that they knew each other, and let them continue on (all the people at the reunion said that was acceptable). But when they saw Lydia and Aliyah form a tight bond. they should have pulled them off set and let Lydia give Aliyah a heads-up about the situation. But, rather, they should have gone to the lounges and told everyone the truth as soon as they found out. That way Aliyah wouldn't have been blind-sided. Moreover, Lydia was dying to tell her friend about Uche but couldn't. Of course when the cap came off, the words came spewing out and she didn't see how Aliyah was reacting. She wasn't malicious and never meant to hurt Aliyah. I hope Aliyah forgives Lydia soon so they can be friends again. Meanwhile, the producers are claiming they had no idea, totally not our fault, blah blah blah. I'm happy for Lydia and Milton. They seem very happy together and I loved Lydia talking about how Milton's parents love her more than him.
  12. Just a note -- you can get bad credit if you miss just a couple of payments, and paying off your debts won't do a thing. Those missed payments stick with you for YEARS. I still like Lydia and Milton if only to rub it in Uche the Asshole's face. I missed how Milton was giving shade without him knowing -- brilliant. I think they do need each other -- Milton to open up more and Lydia to tamp it down.
  13. Kind of on the lines of the Dolly Parton quote "It takes a lot of money to look this cheap!"
  14. Thank goodness The Pickle is gone. Horrid singer (and now we know why) but he did have McHale's moves down. A great night for ungulates!
  15. 30 miles in 2 hours is 15 mph. It sounds like it was 3 or more -- LA traffic doesn't move that slowly. I think they left at 2 PM maybe, stopped for a couple of hours while the car was driven or towed a few miles down the road, then Gerry drove for just long enough (half an hour would probably been enough) to get the footage and pull into the diner. That works better time-wise. My aids don't work 100% (I really can't hear whispers no matter what my wife thinks -- LOL) but I hear 1000 times better with them than without.
  16. What's surprising to me is that they were able to go over 20 mph on an LA freeway! You can get on at 2 AM and still have "bummer-to-bummer" traffic as one radio announcer called it. They may have cleared the freeway too. For me. it's the other way around. I do a bit of subconscious lipreading, but I'm lost without my aid.
  17. On the Aaliyah situation, not only did Lydia and Uche hide things, but Production did as well. She should have been told up front about Uche and Lydia (and Lydia bounced from the show), so I can see her feeling betrayed all the way around. Number 1 rule: Make sure Guy A is into you before breaking off with Guy B. If she had talked to them in reverse order, she could have kept Chris. There was nowhere for her to go where she wouldn't be ambushed bu Lydia. She tried telling Uche that but he dismissed someone he boned 2 moths ago as "some girl".
  18. I guess I'm the only one one Team Lydia&Milton and not Team Izzy&Stacie. They're just in it for the good times -- at the first sign of trouble, one of them (probably IzzY) is going to run. Taylor: "Was it a good cuddle?" JP: [long pause] " It was nice" Nice??? "Nice" is such a weasel word. She needs to run far and fast. Uche: It wasn't "some girl" who was coming between you -- it was someone that you had sex with 2 months ago, and that Aaliyah thought was her best friend, but just wouldn't shut up about Uche. She ran to get away from Lydia more than to get away from Uche, and to do that she had to leave before Lydia came back. I think that she was trying to tell him that, but he kept dismissing Lydia as just "some girl". I'm not sure I see any of these couples getting anywhere near the altar.
  19. I think that this is the episode where Lino suggests opening a Sicilian restaurant and Amy says there's none in Los Angeles. Girl, there are 15 in my area of East Los Angeles / West San Bernardino. If he wanted to stand out, he could open a Milanese restaurant -- one and only one in all of Los Angeles County -- or the food he claimed that he came to love -- there are no. zero, nil, nada Florentine restaurants in LA,
  20. The bold part is why she posted. She had a major event in her life, and no one knew about it. Apparently she made one or two posts and other blogs caught them and made it a big deal (because Josh is an a-hole). Throughout the 3-parter. Josh came across as totally insincere about anything and seems to be the one that's a "clout chaser". I hope that the final scene meant that Jackie is seeing the light and will chose Monica over the guy who mocks his fiance's size and throws food at his girlfriend.
  21. He certainly ddn't balk when Karly threw out "Jay Pharoah". It's easy for him to say now that he knew but I don't buy it.
  22. It's OK for Gabe to be cocky throughout the game, but the one who figured out the last 2 by herself got dogpiled by the formers who jumped at the chance to out her. Can't let the confident Black woman win. That's against the rules. (See also Stars on Mars). The only "queens" allowed to win are the drag kind. She was no more cocky than Gabe was before his football charade fell through. She got it as soon as Karsyn showed her his clue. I loved her subtly pushing T-Pain until one of them (Chris?) realized T wasn't an actor. Especially since all of them made a bee-line to Gabe to out Monay. How DARE she be smart and strategic!!! He had no clue -- I think he was still on the Terry Crews path -- until the formers told him. I wouldn't have minded if he won on his own merit but the dogpilke stunk of misogynoir.
  23. I just find extremely sus that Adam knew to RTFM just before the quiz.
  24. [Psst.. Adam, we can't have 2 strong Black women as the final 2, let alone winner (no matter how much either deserved 10 times more than you. A white gay guy is much more palatable. So rather than have the winner determined solely by skills (which everyone knows you'd fail at), we're going to have a trivia quiz. Here's a cheat sheet to make sure you win. Thanks, buddy.] That was an awful, horrid, despicable way to treat Tinashe and Portchia. Misogynoir runs deep.
  25. I'm sure that the celebs has to sign non-disclosure agreements. "Chris? Chris who??? Definitely not my son!" I guess "Techni" got left on the cutting room floor! LOL
