  1. The only conclusion I read was that Whitney can't fathom that there are some people who have never been beyond their own state, not that Roy had never been out of his state. When Whit and her barnacles were chatting at her party, I could clearly hear other voices, conversations, and laughter in the background, so it doesn't surprise me that more people were there than was shown. I get that some people don't want to be filmed and put on television, but why fake the "Roy didn't come/didn't answer her text" scenario Are they that desperate for storylines? Whitney kills me with her straight-faced lies about being invited to perform at the Folk Festival. There's nothing real about this show.
  2. Side note: Thank you, JudyObscure -- "Sweet baboo" is one of my new favorite phrases. ? Hehe, gladly! It's sort of like when you're eating a superb meal--it's so yummy that you don't mind others having a taste, lol!! ;)
  3. I can only imagine what I'm in for with HTN, which is why I've delayed. I have to be in the mood for what's coming. I'm with you on the skateboarding-centric stuff and Vice News on HBO. (I've been watching the Vice HBO specials/30-60 minute episodes for years, but I just started watching their nightly HBO news and like you, I'm loving it. I didn't even know about it until recently!)
  4. I really enjoyed the "Payday" series. I'll watch if they have any more episodes. I recorded "Hate Thy Neighbor" but I haven't watched it yet. They are also showing "Rise" (about Standing Rock Reservation's pipeline fight). I'm waiting for more : Woman, B. Deep, Hamilton's Pharmacopeia, Black Market, Vice Essentials, Abandoned, just to name a few, lol. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, ha.
  5. I've never read anyone here suggest or say that you (or anyone ) has to hate or dislike Whitney. No one has to explain the reasons for why they feel the way they do, but the reasons are obvious to me , and "just because she's fat" isn't one I've ever seen here. Just like you, everyone else gets to make up their own minds. But...The truth is that you're right about one thing-- these comments wouldn't appear if she were a size 2. This isn't "My Small Skinny Fabulous Life". Whitney is the one who brings being fat into the discussion --by the very title and nature of her public show. Hating or disliking her just because she is fat isn't ok. Excusing what some perceive to be her assholish behavior because she's fat also isn't ok, and I think people are calling her out like they would anyone else. The perception is that she's called out only because she's fat, but I don't think that's it..it's more that her fatness has relevance. It's in the show title and it's what the show is about. I've never seen anyone post on here that they don't like her just because she's fat. Just my take, and I'm not speaking for anyone: I think what happened is people liked her at first, but over time their opinions changed. I know there are people out there who do hate Whitney due to her weight, but I think that's the exception here. I think most are here for the snark, not hate. I used to enjoy the show and Whitney, but once I really noticed her awful, immature behavior, I started disliking her. I liked her, then i didn't, and it was all due to her behavior, not her weight. HER behavior is what's on the table, no matter how others behave. It's her show so we discuss her and form opinions on her. I want to like her and I want her to succeed, but until she grows up and acts like an adult, I'll hate-watch and snark. (It's a soft hate watch, lol) IMO, Whitney affording the house or not is a non-issue when it comes to Buddy. He needs to pay rent or GTFO. I was on her side. I get that it's different, I get the rug thing, I get it all. Buddy is laissez-faire about it because it's not his house. There's rental pride and then there is ownership pride. She may not have been perfect about their discussion, but I can't believe Buddy had the nuts to "draw a hard line" about a lease when he hasn't paid rent in months. I'd have mentioned my own hard line about paying rent if I were Twit.
  6. Interesting, because I can totally see it--Both are cartoonish overalls . Also, fwiw, Mario bros' overalls are not loose at all, not that I've ever seen. (ok..maybe Halloween costume versions, lol) I can see the firefighter reference too, even though firefighters don't wear overalls, but actually wear turnout pants (sometimes with suspenders, so there's that). I think it's definitely the color at the bottom of the legs that does it for me, since nothing else about it is anything like what a firefighter wears.
  7. That article isn't real and is from a spoof website made to look like ABC. Notice the actual domain is .co, not .com ; it's quite realistic clickbait, but it isn't true. (I'd stay away from that site, just to be safe. I got a browser hijack attempt when I checked it out. ) http://www.snopes.com/church-scientology-tax-exempt/
  8. I'm agreeing with most of what has already been said about Ashley and her family re: their likeability, their positive, supportive dynamic. I got a good feeling from her husband, and I bet if he was anything other than good to Ashley, her family would not have stood for it. They seemed to love and embrace him, so I'll take him at face value. Besides, I didn't get that gross, sleazy feeling from him like from some of the other husbands. Add me to those calling out Dr. Now for dismissing her nausea as psychosomatic. Just because she didn't have a leaky seam --or other issue seen via endoscopy-- doesn't mean there isn't another cause! That happens so often with patients , especially women--if the doctor doesn't see the cause right away then it must be "mental". I guess we really haven't come past all that. I don't mind the long episodes. I'm looking forward to an update on Ashley.
  9. I'm so sorry to hear that. :( (gave the "like" as thanks for the info, and obviously not the sad content)
  10. This episode was very hard to watch, but so satisfying. What a rollercoaster for me as a viewer, let alone living it! From the many childhood traumas to Kandi's episode, my heart went out to the sisters for all their pain. I'll admit that I shed some tears. I was just so sad for them, then irritated at the little "mess up", then proud, then scared, then proud again. I'm glad things turned around and we got a happy ending. They sure deserve it. I'm going to root for them pretty hard!
  11. "I liiiiike, couldn't believe I woOOOn, then I watched the show baaaack and it all made seennnse." Insufferable is too kind. To be fair, I get why they chose her. That being said, IMO, she is not the most talented of the group. Laurence owns that (IMO). Laurence was my pick to win. I rooted and rooted for her, but in the end she just didn't do enough to win. I think she over-corrected in response to early criticisms, and unfortunately never recovered. Her personality is cool, she's level-headed, and she stays above the fray. She's a class act, as she proved on the show and the reunion. As to where it counts, the clothes: To me, her hand is the most skilled and her eye the most chic. It may not be the style that appeals to the crazy/fluffy/feathery/kooky/ “fashion forward" set (nothing wrong with that, as I am all over the map with my own tastes), but I bet she will deliver some fine wares. I can see her excelling in many areas--both classic and modern, stylish, chic, luxe, spectacularly-made clothing, interiors for cars, homes, or whatever she chooses. She--to me-- is by far the most talented of the season. I'm sure she will be quite successful. Rememberrr, Eriiin--Yellow feathers, bedazzled chicken beaks, and sequined racoon turds are only fashion-forward for so long. One day you're in, and the next day you're out piette'd!
  12. The question about culture was definitely in reference to her eyebrows. I just finished watching. I'm not as impressed with this group as I was with last season's, but since it's the first episode, I'm going to keep my hopes high for a bit. Overall, though, they seem like fine kiddos. I saw some good work, some shoddy work, and am looking forward to next week. I wanted to elaborate, but my nephew just barged in, lol!
  13. Agreed with pretty much everything y'all said. I hope Scott stands his ground. Ann gave zero farks about his safety and had zero likable moments. Ugh. I am somewhat of a product junkie too, but nothing like that. I use what I buy, and I am picky. Why have so much that you can't even use before it starts to smell funky? It mostly looked like BBW stuff, too. I mean, how many bottles of Japanese Cherry Blossom spray does one need? And the nerve of her to blame him and put the onus on him! These selfish partners are such wastes. Why be married if your partner has no value? If their needs and wants matter not? I have never understood people like that, those who are so inflexible and need everything their way, as if marriage isn't about two people. Then again, I'm not a selfish harpie, so.. We got to see the Zazz, always a shiny bauble and snazzy top in a sea of shit-covered clothes and "jewelry". I think she dresses that way not only to keep sane in that mess, but so that she's not accidentally tossed out in it. Dr. Tompkins and Standolyn - - great to see so much of the old team. Dr. Tompkins sure tried to get Scott to stand up for himself. I'm glad Standolyn and the team at least have him a clean spot. Hope he defends it with all he can muster, because I guarantee his selfish-cow wife is going to test him. Time to pull those nuts down, Scott.
  14. I'm happy this show is back. I'm happy to see our handsome, lovable, kind guys - - Dr. Tolin, Matt, and my fave--Cory. I love their ever-so-slightly chubbier cheeks and their wee-bit pudgier bellies. Cutie-patooties...! (Cory is my man though. Mmmphh! Lol!) I notice and applaud their middle-aged spreads and graying hair, because those things mark that we've had many years together. Welcome back our honorable, handsome and kind-hearted knights-in-shiny-garbage-trucks. You are more noble than all 5 of Lonnie's knighthoods! And yes, it was great to see the lovely Dr. Green. She maintains her cool at times others might be inclined to knock a hoarder upside the head with a sail cat. Drug issues with Linda's daughter were not a surprise, but clean or not, she was being patient and helpful. She kept her cool when mommy dearest was a stone-cold bitch, that's for sure. I am all for personal responsibility, but methinks Linda may want to seriously reflect on her contributions to that part of her daughter's make up. I'd bet a set of cobweb-encrusted doilies Linda was hard and cold long before her daughter ever picked up drugs. Lonnie was no surprise, either. Talk about grandioise! Sheesh! His wife should give him a choice between keeping his treasures and being homeless or selling his crapola and paying the mortgage, lest he be divorced and homeless.
  15. I feel the same, y'all . It was difficult to sympathize as she blamed everything and everyone except herself. I was incredulous when she told her husband, "I hate you! You always do this in front of the kids!", as she shot up in front of the kids! I knew she wouldn't make it. The sad thing is, she's just as likely to carry on that lifestyle for a very long time as she is to die from it. Her kids are in for a world of hurt. Even though she was removed from the home, I wonder if she's still coming around manipulating /getting money from him. I bet "yes". Taking his money and supporting her boyfriend? Ugh.!
  16. I agree---some diversity is needed on the panel. There's knowing what something is, and then there is really knowing something . Extensions are a huge market, but unless what these ladies are offering is really special, they're not particularly hard to find, either. Even higher-quality pieces are much more accessible and affordable . The market is huge, true, but even Amazon and eBay are saturated with "real hair" hair pieces. I don't know how those products compare to what these ladies are selling, but I bet a lot of it comes from the same place, namely Asia and India. I can't believe they were that shocked at how much money is in the "faux"hair industry. Side note: White girls have been loving their hair pieces for a long time, too, long before the 80s. It's not a new thing for us, either. My mom and her peers wore the heck out of extensions, hair pieces, and wigs -- that was in the 60s and 70s. They were super popular then, just like today. I even remember seeing hair-piece catalogs at both of my grandmother's homes. From what I can tell from the pictures I've seen, hair pieces sure look much more natural now, lol. Some of those shiny synthetics were the hair version of polyester, lol! I don't know how correct it is, but I always call pieces that literally weave in "weaves" and pieces that clip or tape in "extensions", just as kind of catch-all terms.
  17. Thanks, Christi! I also found Merike striking + gorgeous on the show and was curious to see more of her. (I forgot to look.) Cheekbones, indeed! Wow!
  18. How long before she accidentally shoots herself, after which Matt collects insurance and .... wistfully tears up during his Keith Morrison / "Dateline" interview, swearing he had nothing to do with it--despite his affair with a plastic TG dwarf. Oh, and I just bet the gun was Matt's idea. I rolled my eyes when she said the name Grayson is unique (sure it is...along with Brayden, Nevaeh, and whatever godforsaken version of Maddyscynn the pageant moms come up with). It is, however, better than Dar'tan-yan. *** ***(Because D'artagnan is so bourgeois.)
  19. I liked this episode! Then again, I've never had much issue with JJ and have always liked JJ + Will. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that the episode really got to me -- I teared up so heavily that the sleeve of my PJ top was damp from dabbing my eyes. (I think a big part of that was hearing the sweet voice of my toddler nephew coming from another room. Watching children get hurt--whether actual or implied --has never been easy, but it's been much harder to take since his birth/I've been helping raise him.) Do fans actually do a word count per episode for each character ? Is that a big fan thing for most shows? I can see production doing it, but I suppose I've never given it much thought. I guess it isn't much different than noting how much screen-time or overall story lines per character. Speaking for myself, TG will be briefly missed, but I don't watch because of him and will keep watching. I'm invested enough in the other characters, and I find the team more important than the individual. There's still enough of that left to satisfy me. It was a little sad that this was his last show and that, due to circumstances, he couldn't get a better send-off.
  20. So far, I've enjoyed every single thing I've watched on Viceland, and I'm watching pretty much every series they have running (minus a few that I may end up watching later). Their tv programming is very much what I already love about Vice and what I'm used to from them (I love Vice's series on HBO). They've hooked me and have made me a dedicated viewer. I'm happy to see that they are adding new programming all the time. My DVR is working overtime!
  21. I've watched enough "Lockup" , "Lockup Raw", "Jail", "Hard Time", and known enough real life inmates to guess McKenzie probably did say or do something, all tears and swears to the contrary aside. I can't count how many times I've seen/heard inmates say or do something, get accused of whatever they just said or just did, then immediately deny it with all the passion, tears, and swears--on-children they could muster. Throw possible mental illness in the mix, and my guess is she may not even be aware she said it. She may actually believe she didn't.
  22. Damn! :( That is so sad to hear. My heart goes out to her family. ps The "like" is for the information, of course, not the tragic content. I'm sure everyone gets that, but it just seems weird to "like" a comment announcing someone's death. :(
  23. DC, this episode is notoriously hard to find. According to a comment on "Intervention Directory", as of January 2016 it was back to streaming on A&E's website. I just checked and it's back off again (as you probably know) . I'm not sure what's up. I know it's not a solution, but maybe keep checking A&E's website and you'll eventually get lucky. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  24. Not that I am on any particular side with the Terra and Christy fight (they both acted like idiots), but Terra needs to stop blaming Christy for the hypothetical jail time and separation from family. If Terra had been charged and had gone to jail, that would have been her own fault, no different from anyone else who commits a crime and goes to jail. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with Terra being pissed over LE getting involved, but I do get that Terra feels like their friendship and the show trumps getting cops involved. That being said, Terra hasn't been friendly with Christy for a long time, so why would she expect concessions that one might give to a friend. Terra feels Christy was in the wrong because you don't call cops on friends, yet she hates Christy. She wants it both ways! I'm not saying Christy is perfect or in the right-- they were both wrong. I just feel like Christy tried to put the whole thing to bed, and Terra still wanted Christy to apologize for something Terra herself would have done had the tables been turned. Terra and Joe are assholes who take no responsibility for anything . They are cruel, mean, sometime-bullies, and they should be ashamed of the example they are setting for their kids. (Really, that goes for most all of them.) I'll agree with Christy on one thing (it almost chokes me say that lol) -- I think Joe may have some alcohol issues. I don't think it was a mistake that it was said, and he was shown taking gulp after gulp of his drink. I'm not saying he's an alcoholic. I don't know. It may just be something as "simple" as Joe becomes an asshole when he drinks. I just have a feeling there may be some truth there, especially thinking back on past events. Finally, Terra and Joe love to rag on Christy's looks, Briana's etc. They have no room to talk. Joe looks like an angry troll with an overbite and an underbite, and Terra looks like a cross between Frankenstein's monster and an uncooked turkey. I saw the picture on the left and it immediately made me think of the one on the right :
