  1. I love this show, too. Yes, there are things that annoy me, but it doesn't make me want to stop watching. This show is one of my favorites. Another big part of it is reading the forums and seeing what PTV posters have to say. I enjoy all the varying opinions and cracking up at the humor.
  2. I meant the bonnet in itself was (perhaps) meant to be editorial, not that he was editorializing it as anything in particular. He could be referencing anything or nothing at all. He didn't say it was a "baby" bonnet and I doubt he meant it as that, but that is what most got out of it. He didn't call it an arming cap and I doubt he meant it as that-it's what I got out of it. Maybe it's just a play on Ninja/FF/warrior theme, since that was the challenge. Who knows. It was an odd choice, I get why it's being mocked, & I say that as someone who actually likes most of his stuff (and liked this week's results too). He should have foreseen the baby bonnet comparisons and made it either less bonnety or more ... not there at all? If a designer is going to do something like a bonnet, I think they have to be super careful and make their POV/intentions super clear. I got the outfit, though, so minus one part, it still worked for me as whole. I've been looking longer/closer at the clothes, and wow, Liris looked divine in that blue dress. I like Brandon's even more now that I've looked again. I hope you won't, either, Slothgirl. I can't tell you how many women and men I've heard say that about losing their hair. Good for your mom! I hope she is doing well. Aww, thanks for all of that, Carrps! :-) :-) *knowing Scorpio look* Ha, and that's so funny! I know just what you mean; I always get interesting reactions when it comes up. I wouldn't want to be any other, though. ;)
  3. I love his stuff, too, and I can't wait to see his collection and possibly own a piece, even if it's just a dangling belt, lol! Yes, his aesthetic is so clear that it seems repetitive, but I see variation, and I'm always excited to see what he makes. He is not perfect, but he's also not going to see his full potential on PR, nor will any of these designers. I don't get baby bonnet, but I see why some do. It reminded me of the cloth "bonnet" men would wear under their armor (I just checked & it's called a "medieval arming cap" or just an "arming cap"). That is exactly what came to mind when I saw the bonnet on Brandon's model. It's editorial, but I don't think anyone would argue that it translates to real life. Although I thought it was a nice nod, I wouldnt wear a bonnet--arming cap or otherwise, lol. Ayana has been a pleasure to watch. She's really impressed me! I thought her modesty might limit her options, but I am so happy to be wrong. I'm enjoying this season (especially since Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum are gone.) FWIW: I am also a cancer survivor (ovarian at age 19), and I agree with the sentiments about warriors, staying tough, strength, marginalizing others, etc. I donate, do walks, etc, but I am careful --like y'all, I'm all about maximizing my donations/time & making sure they go to help patients and families rather than enriching executives. Someone mentioned hair loss, being reminded of that & the bad times, etc. This is just my perspective; others may feel differently: Before I had my first treatment, I had a consult with my chemo nurse. I broke down crying when she told me I'd probably lose all of my hair. I loved my hair! I liked the way I looked! I was going to be hideous, wouldn't feel pretty, look manly, not feminine, ashamed, etc. Blech!! I was so young, I truly wasn't shallow at all, but I was so worried about losing my damn hair. I think my initial focus/worry about superficial hair loss vs my life/death was a sort of denial. Yep, I lost all of my lovely hair. Yes, it sucked losing my hair, it's emotional, and it's hard, BUT; after the initial shock and once the hair is gone, it really was the least of my worries. For me, I had a nice, custom-made wig...and I hated it. The day I ripped it off and went bald in public is the day I became a new person. My friends and family and I laughed, made jokes, I cried , I got mad, and I got through it. Being bald, chemo/side-effects (incl infertility), holidays in the hospital, being apart from the man I'd just married, ...nothing is going to remind me of the pain of any of that, because it just doesn't have that kind of effect on me anymore, and it hasn't for a long time. I truly focus on the fact that I am here. Those things hurt at the time, some haunted me for a long time , but at least they are memories and feelings I can experience ... and I'll take that because so many don't even survive. People are often hesitant to talk about that time in my life or ask questions about it when they want to, because they think it will upset me or bring back bad memories. Not so for me...As you can see by the vast amount of text. :-)
  4. I'm from the same state she's in, and her voice grates on my nerves! side note : Her accent isn't the "typical" GA accent. It varies, of course, but GA is usually smoother, lilting, less twangy. Hers IS typical for certain areas. Woodstock is not far from TN, so that's a big part of her accent. All of that said, it's not the accent, it's her actual voice--there is something highly irritating about it... though I suppose she can't help her voice. I wish I'd been able to watch the episodes as they aired. Y'alls snark is so far ahead of mine!
  5. I'm chiming in to say that I feel like most of you all do. I knew she was going to leave treatment. I've been surprised a time or two, but I think it was sadly, painfully obvious that she wasn't going to last. My sympathies were squarely with Melissa's son. I kept thinking that I hope that this doesn't mess him up for life. The addict cycle is all too real and quite complicated, but hopefully the family sticks to their bottom lines and keeps kiddo away from addict-Mom. As he gets older, it's going to more on him to do that rather than on the family. That could get tricky. He deserves his shot at a healthy, happy life. When Andrew left the room after Melissa started with the crack, I thought that was the best thing he could have done. I wanted to strangle Melissa when she basically gave no fucks about Andrew being in recovery. She could have walked into the hall or a bathroom. No, it wasn't the worst of her "sins", but still. I'm so glad Andrew walked out and went to get Melissa's boyfriend. Agreed that Andrew rocks! I just love and adore him. His 'fuck!" in the elevator, his genuine emotions, his honesty ...he is real but not overwrought. I always want to give HIM a hug, too. And yes, he looks like Jeremy Sisto-- that is a delight to my eyes since most everything else on this show is so fucking ugly.
  6. I laughed at this for such a long time, Happy Hobo!
  7. I'm finally catching up on the episodes and haven't caught up on reading forums / haven't commented on any yet; I paused this episode because I had to post. I don't think I've ever used the word "thirsty" to describe anything other than actual, physical thirst. But Darcy? She is so damn thirsty she might as well be on her 3rd day of being lost in the desert in a sand storm. I'm cringing so hard & feel so much second-hand embarrassment.
  8. Slightly OT: I know exactly which preview commercial you're talking about--it disgusts me they'd even go there. Actual Show: Warren Jeffs talking about little girls in that way is something I don't want to think about or even remember, but most likely I won't ever forget. When Suzette was at that safe house looking for her daughter and the random woman from inside asked that her if she was "dim" (or something like that), I just about died due to the somewhat ironic nature of her sarcasm, lol. My sentiments on Jesse and the sisters match what's been said. I hope they and the kids find their peace and a healthy "new normal".
  9. I hope so ! I enjoy many of Fargo's residents, but some I just love. To name a few --Molly Solverson/Molly's dad (Lou S.), Mr.Numbers, Malvo, Gus . I was tickled to see Mr Numbers on that bus! It was unexpected and perfect. Unfortunately, I watched the season late this year, so I missed joining in the chat as the season unfolded. I won't repeat what's been said or bring up too much, but: Much has been said about the parallels/nods to current events; it wasn't lost on me, but I also didn't mind it -- it was done with a light hand , IMO, and could easily be missed. Take "Law & Order SVU" , for example. I happen to mostly agree with their political "statements", but they get so ridiculously heavy-handed at times that I get annoyed. Beatings over the head are not nearly as effective/fun as subversion & allegory. ;) I enjoyed the recap, too. Hopefully there is a fourth season!
  10. I'm finally watching the episode from 8/4. Oooh, I'm pretty sure my usually low-ish blood pressure spiked when Trooper Casey was investigating that parked car and I heard that kid say he's 16. Grrr! I'm really happy the kid was honest. It was obvious something sexual was up, but when I heard the kid say his age, I physically reacted. I figured there was going to be meth and that the young man had probably been propositioned, but having it verified did me in. I'm so glad that freaking piece of crap driver went to jail, so glad he's facing sex charges involving a CHILD, and so glad that Casey intervened on behalf of the young man. There's a chance he might be a runaway, living on the streets, a chance it's how he supports himself, or maybe it was just a one-time thing. Either way, I hope Trooper Casey or someone connected him to some resources. My heart breaks for what he may be doing to survive and/or what could have happened even just that one time. Trooper Casey was rightfully pissed. When he heard the young man say "16" , Casey let out an audible groan. I bet he wanted to choke that fucker. I know I did. :(
  11. Same here. I DVR and sometimes can't watch until the next morning, but I never miss the show if I can help it. He brings a much-needed lightness to some serious, heavy stuff. I don't think his comedy is strictly for laughs and giggles. It kind of never has been just about that. Something I deeply and absolutely feel sure about -- Stephen Colbert is not only hilarious, he is also sincere.
  12. LOL! That cracked me up. Exactly. Cody and Jessica are not nice people. I can't root for either, not even for a game. Poor Cameron, lol. I was rooting for him too. I kept talking to the TV, telling him to beat that meathead Cody. I wanted to see the nerd take it. :) Alas, It was always going to be Paul and always going to be Cody. Codybot was always coming back. How nice that they changed the maze on a game Cody had already played and knew the nuances of playing. Blah. I get why people don't like Paul, but I'll always root for him over Cody and Jessica. Jessica and Cody slobbering and smacking = nasty. I am far from a prude, but come on. Those lip sores + face sucking. Ewww. I guess both of their herpes lip sores will be pulsing and flaring again soon. (Not to shame folks with STDs, really. I'm just ragging on Codybot and Plastica because they are serious assholes.)
  13. It's a common double standard, which is why many women will lie and say "3" when asked "how many?"-- and they will also deny that they'd ever lie. Anytime a woman told you "just three, babe!", it was actually way more, so no need for you to sweat that double standard. It's already been factored in. --- I couldn't agree more, BrilliantBreakfast! I agree with every word. Cody's gym seems to foster a welcoming environment for people to work on their overall health. Many of the folks who need it most avoid gyms/etc for fear of being judged, because they often DO get judged. It's as if gyms/fitness/health/nutrional resources should only be accessible to the super-fit. It's nonsense, and I applaud efforts to make these places more open to anyone and who wants to be there. And yeah, the women on here have been so big. ?
  14. 1- Whatever is going on, I hope everyone is alright and no one was harmed, and 2- NOOO!! Damn it! Grrrrrr @ the horny, sloppy drunk fuckers who ruined my favorite Summer trash before I could watch them being sloppy, drunk, and horny. Also, BAHHH to the lily-livered varmint who doesn't understand that documenting all the hooking up is part of the job description! ?? I sooo look forward to this train wreck show, and it's one of the few trashy shows I still watch, and watch with glee! Fingers crossed they resume taping. /selfishness Really, though... I want to know more. With all the drinking and sex that happens on these shows, it seems crazy that a mere hookup caused all this drama.
  15. MoodyGirl, Thinkerbell, and BusyOctober all made great points about the poignant , tender, caring, comforting conversationS (purposely plural) between Amy and Zach. Whether it was about Sully, or the baby, or the job with Matt, they had many great talks where issues were confided, discussed, etc, and an ear, advice and comfort were given. That leads me to these comments, all of which bring up something I planned to mention, so I'm thrilled others noticed. Matt not only persisted, but he rolled his eyes, expressing not only his disagreement, but implied that the kids are not comfy with "how are you and what's going on in your world" chat, and tried to make Amy feel bad, as if she is doing something wrong / making her own kids feel uncomfortable and hurt by merely asking about their lives. (God, could he be any more of a bastard?) All of this. Matt shames Amy. He even attempts to gaslight her -- how dare she ask her kids how they are, how dare she make enquiries into their lives, when doesn't she know like Matt knows that they hate it?! Exactly. Exactly. Matt is a piece of the worst kind of crap for trying to guilt Amy out of enquiring about her kids, as if she is doing something wrong. She was not buying it, especially when it's right there on video that they most certainly do not dread, despise, and feel uncomfortable with confiding, nor do they rebuff Amy's advice and comfort. Matt is disgusting. What kind of man --no, what kind of parent--applies his efforts to rail against rather than encourage an avenue of mother/child/familial communication and communion. Gross!! Also, as already mentioned : Fuck you, Jeremy and Audrey for actually saying aloud that your majestic, hallowed, tree-fucking presences will return and bestow righteousness and light to the crumbling, dark, corrupt family haunt. GAG!!! :( Sully :(
  16. Speaking of Stepdads and stepdaughters: If you're not already familiar with it, read up on the case of Jessica Padgett. I'll give a little warning, though -- Her stepfather, Gregory Graf, is one perverted, vile man. That's one of my favorite cases, too. I don't want to spoil it, either, buy my firm opinion is Agreed. The breadth and scope of the many lies they told points directly to both of their involvement. It could be that John killed Eric then had Kendra help cover it, or she did it on her own ... who knows. I feel very strongly that no matter which one of them did the actual killing, they both helped hide it. It always bothers me when people die before the justice system has a chance to mete out a punishment. I know they hadn't been convicted (or even charged), but I think maybe with enough time, enough questioning, and with enough resources, it may have eventually wound up there. IMO, they are guilty. Kendra can never tell what she knew --unless she already did -- and she can never be punished. I think it's also going to make it more difficult to prosecute John. I hope Eric and his family get some justice. Mmmppphhh!! That man is delicious. Ha, he sure does, lol!
  17. (If some of this seems off, it's because I was interrupted 1000 times trying to write it, lol) According to Aleksandra, Josh is the father. She says that her ancestry is Cuban (not sure to what degree) on her biological father's side, and that her daughter also resembles Aleksandra's mother, who has darker features (I want to say she also said somewhat Mongolian features). She also said she'd do a DNA test, but feels no need to prove anything to strangers, and that people on social media are making up silly things. (Paraphrased from a Radar article and Instagram, lol!). She seemed genuinely stunned by the first crop of "bi-racial/not Josh's baby" comments, then annoyed at the accusations, but still held her cool. I think she was truly put off at the suggestions that she cheated on Josh. From a scan of her IG/etc, I think she's pretty genuine in her love for him and her faith. Meh, I don't think she cheated. I could be wrong, of course. IMO, If she had a bi-racial baby, I don't think she'd be so shocked and confused that people think her baby is black, nor would she be so surprised that people would notice if the baby really wasn't Josh's/was her friend's baby. As for hiding the girl, I don't blame her. People on her social media are going nuts over it and she wants to protect her child. I wasn't sure at first, but the more I see the more I just don't believe the rumors. I saw a few in-color pics where the girl's hand looked "white", some where her hands and ankles looked white or at least on the lighter side, practically the same as Aleksandra's, and some where she looked darker. Shadows, lighting, age, all sorts of things can affect skin tone. Plus, she always has the girl in profile or in shadow in some way. Based on the hair, I can see why people speculated, but once I really looked and saw a few more pics, I don't see anything that makes me doubt the child isn't Josh's. Her hair looks like curly, thick, hair. I believe Aleksandra that the child is Josh's, not that she has to prove it to me, lol. She said something about doing a post sometime on Russian ethnicities (of which there are so many --close to 200 I think) so people would understand more about the curly hair/skin tones/etc. She also said their daughter has pretty much the same skin tone as she and Josh, but also looks a lot Aleks' parents, which is "too bad for me and Josh" (I guess because of the speculation). I think there's probably nothing to the rumors. Also, it just adds fuel to the fire that she (understandably) hides the child face. People love conspiracies and gossip , and there was already so much gossip about Josh possibly being gay . I bet she's a beauty! :) In theory, I totally get why she hides her daughter's face and I respect their privacy. In actuality, I'd love to see a pic of the lil tyke and would definitely look --sooo... if anyone happened to take a screen-cap of the pic Aleks posted then removed, let's see it, LOL! Edit: I wrote off and on for so long that I forgot that Toaster Strudel actually saw a picture. With the pic you saw, TS, do any of the above ancestry proclamations make sense? I know one can't tell ethnicity just by looking, but in your opinion ....what do you think, having read what Aleks said about her ancestry. (If you don't mind answering! I'm just genuinely curious.)
  18. In the previews for the upcoming season, Anfisa screaming on the phone at Jorge to "come back noWWWW" is scary. She sounds unhinged and obviously has serious anger issues. We viewers poke fun, but (IMO) the truth of it is that she is both mentally and physically abusive to Jorge. Slapping him is not OK. Jorge has issues, but I hate the way she treats him. I wish he would have sent her ass packing or let her follow through on one of her many threats to leave. I truly fear for his safety. I can see Anfisa getting so angry and lashing out in a fit of rage (as has already happened). Eventually, slapping won't be enough to appease her anger. If the tables were turned and Jorge was the one berating, screaming, stalking, bombarding w/calls, scratching up cars, **slapping**, etc Anfisa, he would be in jail or out on bail. He most-likely will not call the cops on her, but I hope someone sees her abuse him and makes the call, and it gets taken out of his hands. (Speaking from experience, sometimes it takes an outsider to get that ball rolling) On a shallow note, and since she is the one who put her looks in the game: If she is going to put herself out as this example of magnificent beauty, perhaps she should have the looks to back it up. She pokes fun at "fat, ugly" American women, but she needs to take a hard look in the mirror. I thought she looked weird as hell last season (long hair, a butt, and hips are always pretty deflectors from plastic, doughy, fish-lip faces), but she looks downright awful in the previews. Yuck. I see an evil, psychopathic, weak-chinned, bloat-faced, plastic blow-up doll. Hell, I have seen better looking blow-up dolls and rapid dogs with better personalities.
  19. Lol! ;) Thanks, Morgan! I didn't realize there's only 6 episodes.
  20. I watched a 2 minute preview (it was the opening scene --Troy) which piqued my interest, enjoyed the series premier, and now I'm in for the season (assuming the great acting and writing hold steady). I agree that the opener with Troy was awesome. There was a touch of dark humor, but it also did a good job of touching on the reasons people choose and the "bitter-sweetness" of assisted-suicide, all without being heavy-handed. Troy's single tear spoke volumes. I pegged Joel for a cop the minute he opened the door! When they started having sex, I thought, "maybe I was wrong after all", but nope. That it's the series opener and law enforcement is already on to them is pretty interesting-- usually there's a build-up as part of the storyline. I'm ready for the next episode and definitely looking forward to seeing more!
  21. In regard to the David Temple case: This is what angers me about people/prosecutors like Kelly Siegler. Wrongfully convicted folks have to fight for decades or somehow get lucky to get out prison, and guilty men walk and get hailed as martyrs. She could have just as easily done everything above-board and still gotten a conviction. If she'd done that, if she'd not been so determined to be a jack-ass, a guilty man wouldn't be walking free. The last episode left out a lot of the evidence against Temple; I'm guessing that was because the focus was on Kelly Siegler's misdeeds. I remember the original episodes, read some of the transcripts, and read the book about the case ("Shattered"), but it has been a while. (Doesn't everyone know that reading a true crime book on a case makes one an expert on said case? ;) Lol! ) (Shattered is a good read, btw.) I believe David Temple is guilty. Even with the things Kelly Siegler has been accused of, and taking out much of that and not counting it against Temple, the other facts and evidence against him still stands. Unfortunately, because Kelly Siegler is a shit and determined to win at all costs, Temple is now an innocent victim who has been railroaded by a shady prosecutor. Her actions bring everything into doubt. Guilty he may be (IMO), but even the guilty deserve a fair trial.
  22. I'm going way back to season 1, which I just finished watching via OnDemand. Holy cow! Angela Lindvall was awful. She has the looks and seems nice enough, but her hosting and judging skills are terrible. Not only was she dry and dull, but she had this certain way of dragging out some of her words, which just stretched the dry, dullness out even more. I ended up skipping through most of the non-essential scenes and watched only the runways and the finales. Sidenote: I'm watching Season 2 now. (Seasons 1 and 2 were the only two I hadn't seen.) Let's see if Carolyn Murphy is any better. I sure have a new appreciation for Alyssa!
