  1. My DAD forbade my mother to use tampons after they were married. Why she didn't take one and shove it up his ... whatever ... I'll never know. She did, however, use them when I was growing up, so I guess she grew a pair after a while. I don't remember my using tampons ever being a subject of discussion when the time came, thank God.
  2. I laughed at the foodie-couple male half's snarky comment: "Oh, that's right -- we don't HAVE an EPA anymore!" BOOM. SVU writers don't like 45 right from the beginning.
  3. Does anyone know who played Captain Westbrook in the veterans' retirement home? He wasn't credited in IMDB or on the show or anywhere that I can currently find. Wondering if it was Robert Conrad. (Capt. W was the one who took off in the wheelchair.)
  4. I called the Bad Teacher as soon as I saw him. That whole scene was telegraphed as soon as Teach said he had to report to the principal. And the suckyface with the student? Ucchhh. Wish someone had walked in on them. I know it's gonna happen -- just wish it'd be sooner rather than later.
  5. "I'm sure that Kirkman's daughter and Mandy from The West Wing are very happy together" -- that made me guffaw! The show is trying SO desperately to be The New West Wing -- with no success -- that I expect Seth to go to the National Security Advisor and sob, "They're KILLING the women, Whatever-Your-Name-Is!"
  6. I don't even watch this show but apparently Miley got her blue eyeshadow at the thrift store as well.
  7. I have thoroughly enjoyed Hinterland and have even gone so far as to start taking Welsh on the Duolingo app! The setting of the show is gloomy and stark but gorgeous, and although I've only seen one season of it, I'm hooked.
  8. It was The West Wing that landed me here, and at MightyBigTV.com [as was], and in a Saturday-morning chat with participants from all over the world. It led that group to a hotel in LA for a WestWingCon to which I couldn't go; but they sent me several goodies, including a script book of the first season SIGNED BY AARON SORKIN, as well as a notepad that says "I sense I'm being mocked" and a Peters projection map magnet that to this day is front and center on my refrigerator. Pretty much The West Wing was my introduction to the Internet back in the days of dial-up modems and waiting 10 minutes for any webpage to pop up. And it led me to create this for my Facebook page, and to post it every four years:
  9. I was just thinking the same thing. It was always a revelation to me, how deeply involved I could get with a story about POLITICS, of all things.
  10. I was able to watch the first two episodes on BBCAmerica's website, but that was after I'd discovered the show three eps in. Try there, anyway ... good luck!
  11. Oh, thank God. I thought I was the only one who realized that Emperor Franco has no clothes.
  12. The only reason I knew about the missing scenes was because of the recap. I don't understand why KUT/PBS cut the scenes, is all I'm saying.
  13. My PBS station (or somebody) totally dropped the first Bitch Angie scene AND Patsy snapping at Delia. The hell?!
  14. We really need a "meh" vote for the episodes.
  15. MAKE IT SO. Although seeing Nancy McNally as a weak, lazy warden really bothered me! Liv's, on the other hand ...
