  1. Lifelong CT resident here - same. A hat and mittens usually come out when it's below 20. This week it suddenly went down to mid/low 70s, which is still fine for shorts and t-shirts. Below 70, though, I will pair long pants with the t-shirt. (Sandals are still fair game til about October 1. I feel that if your feet aren't actually cramping you have no need for socks or closed shoes. 😃)
  2. IS it actually supposed to be a year, though? I admit to being confused by these 10/12 episode Hallmark seasons, which usually seem to start with back to school IIRC, but end up having all these holidays tossed in. (The whole Hope Valley Days thing this past season really didn't help either, lol) I disagree about Lucas having no goals except love, though. From the start we've seen he had a lot of career-oriented goals - and he still does. And back when we first met him, you could almost have said love was not at all on his radar. IMO he was initially attracted to Elizabeth, but in a superficial way like he had no doubt been attracted to any number of girls and women over the years. It seemed to me like Lucas was a handsome charmer who who accustomed to having women swoon over him with very little effort on his end. When Elizabeth didn't fit the mold so soon after Jack's death, Lucas seemed driven to "win" her attention - and then with time to truly care about her as a person. Also, we've seen evidence - more with each season - that Lucas cares about his colleagues and neighbors. He's been genuinely worried about Henry during his health issues, and - right or wrong - helped bring Christopher to Hope Valley so he and his father could make amends. Prior to that, Lucas was willing to help Nathan - he trusted him with a large amount of cash, no questions asked. And he had always looked out for Allie, even that first day when he didn't actually know her and she was playing hooky from school. It's no small thing in this world for someone to go out of their way for others. YMMV, of course.
  3. Is the kid going to live with Voight next season? You know, because of his guilt in not saving Anna, and because raising at-risk kids is kinda his thing?
  4. I live in CT. Our local schools just went back on the 31st, and don't forget, lots of commercials air in numerous states. So back to school ads are definitely still relevant for many of us.
  5. This isn't a chain we have here in CT, and I'm also rather tired right now, so I just read this as "Pubix". Going to bed, stat.
  6. IMO it's simply the fact that this summer has been SO ridiculously hot in places where it typically isn't, for unending weeks. I usually enjoy summer but this year even I am looking forward to wearing a hoodie.

  9. YES!! I loved Nic's character, but IMO this episode made her look like a jealous shrew. Babysitter compliments Conrad's jacket? She must be in love with him. Random woman, with tears in her eyes, hugs Conrad in full view of a roomful of people? She can't possibly be a grateful former patient - it must be an affair! Arghhh.
  10. As a person with a rare and serious disease who's spent DECADES looking for answers, I really didn't like Vanessa's immediate dismissal of Lydia simply because she'd been to a lot of doctors and got upset when nothing was found in her tests. Lots of people get told there's "nothing wrong", yet they continue having serious symptoms that interfere with their quality of life. Just because you didn't find anything, Vanessa, doesn't mean your patient will just say ok, thanks, and go home happily while you immediately forget they even were there.
  11. My big question regarding Iggy's gamer patient - who was paying for that appointment time slot? Per Gladys it was on the official schedule but as the gamer wasn't even aware of anything happening other than playing a game, was Iggy just donating his time?
  12. Finally got around to watching this, and geez, I agree with everyone hating on it. It would have been terrible for a regular episode, let alone a finale. I figured they'd have Harper go into labor, which is pretty ho-hum but expected when a character is pregnant for most of a season. But no, we just went to new heights of WTFery. You'd think Nathan Fillion would be embarrassed....
  13. This reminded me of that episode of Frasier, where Martin talked about a coroner he'd had a crush on during his cop days, and how he'd see her at the corner bar - which Frasier misunderstood as "coroner bar". "They have their own bars?!"
  14. Not to mention, taking literally ANYONE he works with is a bad idea...if either he or the renter finds issue with each other, they still have to see one another regularly. Then again, people at Med regularly sleep together then continue to work together, so what am I even talking about??
  15. Couldn't quite figure out how/why nobody seemed to know if Daniel's parents were actually dead, really named Smith, etc. They turned out to be just regular people on vacation. Wouldn't an employer or neighbors have come forward when they went missing?
  16. Finally got around to finishing the season and ITA. I'm not familiar with this actress but overall I thought her character had potential if only they dialed her personality down about 50%. I mean, I get it - she's quirky and opinionated and stubborn. But she can portray just without doing stuff like walloping the guy trying to work at his computer because she's just SO excited about her case, y'know? That's just obnoxious.
  17. The line that stuck out most for me is Halstead with "everybody pretends something". Yeah, it's largely true as a general thing, but he just seemed so grim and bitter as he said it.
  18. Until I saw the part where Violet stood near her closed locker door, I hadn't realized her last name was Mikami. Did anyone ever call her that? Kinda weird, considering all the other EMTs were called by surname but she's always just Violet. Also, we learn here that after the weeks of already being away, Brett is still going to be gone another month. How much vacation time does this girl have?!
  19. Okay, why am I now thinking of Elizabeth's sister Julie? She would definitely be a flapper, LOL. Maybe we can have her visit.
  20. I'm disabled, so my pride didn't let me do this for quite some time. Then COVID hit and I decided to give home delivery a try. After, when things got a bit better, I switched to curbside pickup. That way I can still feel part of the process but it's definitely physically easier on me than going through all the aisles after a full work day. At this point, I am definitely willing to pay someone to do things that may seem small to many, but are quite taxing to me. There's no point in using my limited strength and energy unnecessarily. In case anyone wants to give curbside a try and has a Stop & Shop nearby, they recently released a promo code for free pickup on Wednesdays with a purchase of $30+ - SSPICKUPFREE - until August 31.
  21. Still, very strangely, no news about the rest of Season 2 - either when it's going to air or that it won't air - although it was recently announced that Morgan Kohan landed the lead in a new series called Sullivan's Crossing. So I guess maybe that's information right there, if the main actors are looking for other jobs.
  22. Just got the chance to watch this one the other day, and someone was talking over the part where Olivia said what Adam had done in high school that her dad helped him with...something about robbing a cafeteria?? I have no idea.
  23. For me, the WOW wasn't that Vivian cheated but that it took eight years for her to do so. Really, I'm not convinced it was the first time for them, just the first time they'd been caught. Let's face it, they were super sloppy about it.
  24. Also, Chris McNally and his girlfriend Julie Gonzalo have had a baby: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/calls-heart-star-chris-mcnally-002202491.html
