  1. I don't have DirecTV (or any TV) anymore, but it allowed it when I had it. So did DISH.
  2. Not that her interview didn't totally suck (it did, at least the parts we were shown and that I read about) but that Moment of Zen with her playing with his hair wasn't from the same interview. She was wearing different clothes and had different hair. According to my google search, it was from an interview when Megyn was on The Five and is from 2011.
  3. I was under the impression that the operator knew approximately where she was (the town or whatever) but the operator couldn't find the intersection because one of the streets didn't show up on her map or whatever. The woman was delivering papers, right? I assume she was at least somewhat familiar with her location and at least knew what town she was in (though maybe she didn't.) In that case, zip code wouldn't help. Depending on population, a zip code can encompass an entire town. Large cities would have multiple zip codes, but they still wouldn't narrow anything down much. I know in some places, the post code can get you very close to an exact address, but that isn't the case with American zip codes. Also, if you asked me to name the zip code of most of the towns near me, I would only be able to come up with some of them.
  4. I think this is a CBS (or production company) thing and doesn't have anything to do with their All -Access. Back when Craig Ferguson was on the air, he didn't have an official youtube channel (at least not when I was catching up on years of episodes I'd missed). They were posted by viewers. And CBS allowed them to stay online as long as they cut the clips out. So, you'd be watching Craig introduce someone and say they were going to show a clip and then it'd jump to when the guest walked out. There would always be commentors asking what had happened and the answer was basically that CBS/WorldWide Pants/whomever would allow the episode to stay up as long if there were no other clips. But because they didn't (necessarily) own the guests' clips, episodes with clips were made to be taken down. My guess, anyway, is this might be for similar reasons.
  5. I haven't watched the show yet, but when I read that, I don't see it as a comment about the show's viewership. What I see it as is a comment on how few people are watching anything on TV; they're watching it on their computers or their phones. I know I don't have cable, satellite, or even an antenna anymore. I stream everything. Edit: I've seen this episode now, and I am almost positive he was referring to the small percentage of people still watching only on TV. Because he said for them, the episode is ending. But for those watching on the website, there is an extended version of the interview to watch.
  6. I also thought the woman looked (and then, later, seemed like) Elizabeth Warren. I mean that as a compliment to both ladies, as this interview was very interesting and now I want to read the book.
  7. It's live, but probably on an 8-second delay (or something). Jon said a word ("fuck," I think, but I can't remember) that definitely got bleeped on TDS right before it. "Bullshit" is one of those things that's becoming "more okay" for them to say a certain number of times an episode if they want, so I wasn't really surprised by it.
  8. What is a contributor on TDS? Is that like what Kristen Schaal is? I like Trevor Noah, though I've only seen him on QI (and maybe one other British panel show) and a segment or two of his standup on youtube.
  9. I thought Jason did a good job, and I thought the interview with Wyatt was, while stupid, funny. And much more enjoyable than the one with Bill O'Reilly would have been/will be. Jon must have been super sick because he's done the show many times when he could barely talk or was clearly feeling horrible.
  10. I may be remembering this incorrectly (I probably am), but the thing I remember involving Blackwater was that when the guy was on, Jon just couldn't grasp why the author thought Blackwater was necessarily a bad thing. And then some time later, there was a news story involving Blackwater, and Jon's apology was more of an "I was wrong, and now I see that" kind of thing than an "I was an ass" thing. Now, I've found it, and it seems to be a little of both. But mostly the being wrong thing.
  11. I'm really lazy and don't really care about food either way (I mean, I love eating, but my favorite foods are simple things and I could eat the same 4 things over and over and be pretty happy about that), so the idea of Soylent is tempting. I mean, yeah, I can microwave a frozen meal, that's easy, but it's also not that good for me. Even if it's Weight Watchers and not high in calories or whatever, it's got way too much sodium, etc. This would be better (presumably) than easy, processed food. Which is what the really busy people are eating, if they're not doing something even worse and eating fast food. I think the best use of it would be to eat less than an entire day's worth of it for breakfast/lunch, then make one real, delicious thing for dinner. I mean, I've been making smoothies for breakfast in an attempt to eat more fruits/veggies; this really isn't that different (except for the lack of tasting like something). I'd imagine that if this started getting popular, people would want mixes that tasted like something, though, so they'd have to come out with a line of foods with different flavors.
  12. I think Jon's better looking, but I may be (am) biased.
  13. He's actually 51, though he'll be 52 in November. Ricky Gervais, per wikipedia, is 52, though he'll be 53 at the end of this month. Stephen Colbert just turned 50 last month. I think both Jon and Stephen look good (both in general and "for their age"), but Jon's been going gray forever. (And now balding.) But I think the gray suits him.
  14. I am in the middle of the episode now, and every time it cuts away from him, I forget its there. And then he appears onscreen again, and I am re-convinced that he must be EvilStephen.
