  1. I have been completely horrified by the vitriolic response to Andy's outburst over Hughie and Ryan's 'engagement'. That fuckwit Kerry Katona on BOTS "Oooer, Andy, they're being stoned *snort snort*" Holy fucking hell have people completely lost their humanity??!! I get that it is something of an overreaction on Andy's part, considering its proximity to his own engagement. But shit, if you don't have the brain cells to be able to see that Andy sees his engagement to his boyfriend within the context of all the horrors that have gone before him - and that still continue in some nations - then there's no hope. Clearly he has been thinking on the profundity of his act - his understanding of his privilege, and a recognition of all those before him who were murdered or lived in shame their entire lives and who were denied the right that he had just enjoyed. And then these two ignorant attention seekers turn up, lampooning the whole thing - not to be nasty, but just because they barely share two synapses between them - and that whole tragic history that Andy sees himself within is instantly ridiculed. But rather than people at the very least seeing their joke as in poor taste - it's ANDY that's the monster. I don't know that I've ever seen a more distasteful display of ignorance on the show before. I'm speechless. And I don't doubt he'll get the arse this week because of it. Utterly, utterly appalling. This is the poem he wrote 3 years ago on the subject at the moment of Britain's marriage equality ruling. Should have got that ignorant cow Katona to read the whole damn thing on air to give her some perspective. http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/equal-marriage-in-memory-of-the-countless-dead-who-could-not-marry-8480102.html
  2. It'll probably be Cass and Kelsey. Kelsey says to Maddy "It's embarrassing the cattiness with the women in here. It makes us all look so petty". Maddy's reply? "But it s all coming from Cass, she's such a biiitch." *sigh* When Nikki Grahame is the most astute, together woman in the house, you know you're in trouble.
  3. Andrew Savage is one of the few Survivors I really intensely dislike: him, Rocky, Philip Sheppard, Ben Browning. I like RHantz more than Savage, and that's saying something. His story was utterly ridiculous - he acted like he found a supermodel in a room and then she died - but then he married her instead or something. His hypocrisy over Fishbach's comment is typical Savage. A more self-involved tossbag you will not find. He has this impossibly narrow view of gender - men are these 3 qualities, women for the most part are irrelevant because they lack those qualities. Exist beyond those boundaries and he has nothing but contempt for you. I still burn when I remember his actual disgust that Lil, sad sack as she was, didn't just roll over and die for his own cause a second time. That she actually got a clue and got rid of him is his greatest humiliation. Awful, smug egotist that dude. The 180 I did this episode was on Terry. He and Savage are cut from a similar cloth, but his move with Abi, as insufferable as she may be, was smart social play. I can't believe I'm saying this, because I have not been a fan of his, but he was absolutely MVP of this episode.
  4. "...resulting in an embarrassing scene in front of some bystanders who weren't expecting a show with their pizza and Foster's." OK, just for the record. No Australian drinks Fosters. We export that swill to a poor unsuspecting world, but no longer touch the stuff ourselves. Boags, Cascade, James Squires, Fat Yak, sure. Fosters? Hell no.
  5. Yeah. Look, she's harmless enough, seems like basically a nice lady, but frankly even Chloe Goodman who was booted out first brought more to the house. Made the end of the series a bit of an embarrassment. I would have been fine with a win for Michelle, Calum, and even Keith. The other two? Nope. Katie Price was perfectly pleasant, but did absolutely nothing but talk about boys and hold her leaky left tit. Katie Hopkins was often very amusing, but was also a shit-stirrer, and I didn't want an endorsement of her repellent views. But as harsh and ungracious as Hopkins's attacks on Pricey after the win were, they were also pretty accurate. I'm also getting frustrated with the number of people bemoaning how terribly Hilton was treated once he left the house. Considering how completely hateful he was in that house, that he cops a truckload of shit for it now, seems fair to me. It's the reason why it's a bad idea to treat people badly - you can't complain when the consequences of your behaviour come back to bite you.
  6. The contrast between them is quite astonishing. Michelle is focused intently on positively representing the queer community, and is coming across excellently. Perez on the other hand hurls accusations of bullying and homophobia for the LOLs and as a wind up, thereby discrediting and trivialising the very community that Michelle is so committed to validating. He really is a repellent little shit.
  7. Josh is getting a lot of airtime because a) Coyopa are losing consistently, and therefore the greater narrative and strategy concerns are on his tribe, and b) the rest of his tribe are barely doing anything, with the exception perhaps of Baylor. They are not a particularly bright or charismatic bunch, and Josh is the one that communicates best. Doesn't mean he wins - this isn't necessarily a winners edit. He's just the go-to speaker because he is playing with relative awareness, and is interesting, articulate and can communicate in soundbites. The rest (again, with the exception of Baylor) not so much. Amazing world where people are responding to Rocker, who has gone on record with an attitude of intense, malevolent bigotry and clearly still harbours these views with "Well, I don't really support him, but...free speech!", but the loud, mouthy woman makes a noise and utters some phrases that may be potentially thoughtless, but are intended without malice gets "Burn her for a witch!" Right. Good one, society, got your priorities well sorted then.
  8. Well, gee, let's just hope nobody lies and cheats in this season of Survivor. Because I think lying is wrong. These are competitive reality shows that demand less moral behaviour if you want an advantage. It's not the Noble Person's Olympics. I'm not saying the Twinnies haven't been sneaky, but Dale has been sneaky too, so this morality nonsense doesn't hold much water as far as I'm concerned.
  9. I also kind of like the Twinnies, and don't get the hatred of them. They're annoying, yes, but not particularly mean to others: they're mean to each other. And although I like Dale, his horror that the Twinnies used a u-turn really rubbed me the wrong way. So the problem is that they did something to further themselves in a game at someone else's expense...like you just did Dale. Seriously, he just fell off his high horse with a tremendous thud. Nadiya's ' one of the girls' crap was undoubtedly stupid and thoughtless, but not driven by hate. I didn't like it, but then I was also not so crazy about Jeremy's desperate attempt to find a protector for his wife (she's female, not intellectually disabled, dick) and Probst's 'Come on, woman!', which would be fine if he often screamed 'Come on, man!' - but he doesn't. The lesson of this episode was - women can do just fine by themselves, thanksomuch patriarchy (except when they try a female alliance *sigh*). If Baylor and Josh think they're making any headway with the likes of Rocker and Wes, they've got another thing coming. Hope this doesn't screw Val's chances - she's terrific. A decent opening, a good immunity challenge, some likeable contestants. Pretty happy with the start to this season.
  10. I'm quite enjoying it. It has certainly been higher on the misery and brawls and arguments than other years, but they are at least a very interesting collection of people. And we have got a big gay romance, and some sexing between the repulsive Steven and his affectless fembot love interest Kimberly, and it's all coming out now that Danielle, the super catholic virgin lady is a tits-out "show you my lady" saucy web cam girl. I'm kind of loving it.
  11. Sabrina Thompson from One World has confirmed on PoS that the reports are in fact true, having received a call from Colton. Terrible news.
  12. The early favourites like Pauline always burn out fast - remember when we all thought Wolfie seemed charming and witty?? Chris looks like he will be the token bully victim, which guarantees him at least 5 or 6 weeks, as long as he doesn't flip out, which I don't think he will. He's clearly just sarcastic rather than someone who is genuinely going to piss in the kitchen for shits sake. Annoyed yet again with the tedious age range of people that are 22-27, with a 'baby' and an oldie as tokens. My dark horses to go deep, though, are Kimberley and Christopher. But Danielle, Tamara and Jale are toast. Deservedly.
  13. Well, yes, me too. Except it had nothing to do with her race, and everything to do with her dumb luck (with a side order of Kass). Spencer was in the same boat. And although it's been ages since Vecepia's win, the one thing you CAN say about Survivor is that pretty much everyone from every race/religion/age/sexuality/social class and gender has got a winner in there somewhere. And even to look recently over the last couple of years, you've got Sophie, Kim and Denise who may not tick the black box (although there was Sabrina who went deep in OW) but they do cover the educated/older/younger/middle class tickets. And you know, conniving...is kind of the whole point of the game, so I'm not interested in a winner that DIDN'T do that. This isn't a congeniality contest. They have to play to deserve the win.
  14. Yeah, I didn't get her vote either. She's a remarkably rational player but that vote feels like an emotional one.
