  1. I don't know where this goes...Just watched a 15-or-so-minute clip showing a yule log burning in a fireplace, with reminders that a sneak peak for the next season will be on Sunday at 8 p.m.  I think it's a short preview, maybe 6 minutes or so.

  2. As far as I know, prime time starts at 8 in eastern & pacific time zones and at 7 in central time zone.  Not sure about mountain time.  When I lived there, I think it started at 7, but programming wasn’t shown in the same order as the other zones.  I don’t know of any stations that show the syndicated game shows in prime time, though I could certainly be wrong about that.

I'm hoping a special thread will be created for the Battle Series so we don't have to read about some "certain" player if we don't have to. You know who I mean!

Any of us can create a thread for the Battle Series.  If no one else does, I'll do it the week before the first one airs.

So I wonder what ABC has in mind if only three nights of shows are needed to determine the winner?

I got Morpheus, Elmore Leonard, and You, which I've never watched, but had heard of.

I guess I'd forgotten that McDonald's wasn't originally owned by Ray Kroc, so I didn't have an answer for FJ.

I'd never heard of Elmore Leonard that I can recall.  Also didn't get You; I said It.

I wasn't listening closely enough to FJ, so I said Kroc.

    Damn, she’s good.

The only one I could think of was Lillian Hellman and I knew it was wrong because she refused to testify and she’s probably considered more a playwright than an author.

I also thought of Hellman.  😕

Ronnie up there on stage, trying to blend in with the kids but looking like he's applying for AARP benefits after the concert, will never not distract me.

    I'm sorry; who is Ronnie?

  7. No comments yet?  I liked seeing Marla Gibbs as Constance's mother.

I was confused about the goose dinner - Didn't Constance, her mother, and Rudy already eat the dinner?  So was there a second goose in reserve, or what?  Loved the goat under the table, though.

Beau and Kay are kind of a mess - neither knows what they want, or how to express what they want.  No wonder Jacob was freaked out.

Several laugh-out-loud funny moments with a heart-warming ending.

  8. FJ was an instaget for Mr. Zoey.  He's very knowledgeable about Presidents, VPs, etc.  I on the other hand figured out the year and still couldn't come up with it.

I like Jennifer, but it still seems like there are some extra-long pauses when she's choosing a category.  Only one ungiven answer in Round 1, but four in Double J!  Don't know if it was the pauses or something else that slowed them so much.

On another note, at least there was some reference to Bob's mother being eligible for some aftercare in a facility.  And of course Bob is against it, but why I have no idea as it would probably be better for her on at least a short-term basis.  Rehab. facilities are nothing like Bob is acting like they are.  They're not old age homes where they send people to be abused and die.  In fact, they're just the opposite if you pick a facility with a good reputation.  And what are we talking about, a few weeks?

My dad had a major stroke nearly 30 years ago.  He spent a couple of weeks in the hospital while they waited for an opening at the recommended rehab facility.  He was retired, but he got physical therapy plus training so he could take care of himself when he was released.   He was in the rehab facility for about 6 weeks.  That's what Dottie needs, just for a few weeks.

  10. I liked this episode.  I'm starting to learn more of the characters names and quirks.  Carol and Phyllis were good together.  Deciding when to retire and what to do when you do retire is a quandary and it's easy to second-guess whether it was the best decision or not, so I enjoyed that aspect.  Any scene is made better by Nurse Dennis being in it.

  11. Mr. Zoey knows a lot about presidential matters, so when he said Sherman, I went with that.

Yes, when I see a question where a person is asked for, I always try to think of a name.  I don't know if Lot's wife is named, though.

I liked Elise's clothes today, too.  I wouldn't feel comfortable in a bright print like that, but she looks great in them.

  12. I was freaking out at baby Jack and the Pilgrim Rick hat, and some of the others with the hat.  I remember the Thanksgiving where there was conflict over who should wear the hat, and they were insistent that Miguel shouldn't wear it, because it was Jack's.

Thanks to John Oliver, Russel Crowe’s jockstrap and Chlamydia ridden Koalas FJ was an IG.

     ???????????

It was only recently that I found the correct pronunciation of Milne, due to the two recent movies, and I thought her pronunciation was pretty close.  I'm not sure I'd pronounce it correctly in a pinch.
