  1. I wish it was Meat Loaf's version, but I do like the song and the commercial, even though I never watch football.
  2. Interesting.. on my DVR, it shows episodes 2 through 5 were recorded Feb.23, Mar. 1, Mar. 8, and Mar. 22, and at the scheduled time. Ep. 6 recorded Sept. 6. I’m in Eastern time zone, on cox cable. Wonder if that made a difference on when it was shown/recorded? Anyway, I’ve watched the first two episodes this week, and I’m happy I watched both this and The Crown.
  3. Fabulous news! PBS just posted about the new season on facebook, so I came over here to see if there was more news. Watched the trailer. Surprised but so happy that we'll get to see it!
  4. Spotted on Facebook: New season, new changes! Here's a sneak peek at what you can expect from #Jeopardy37, starting September 14. I can’t find the link right now, but Alex will be hosting, and Ken Jennings joins the J! team and will be reading categories.
  5. I just found this on Peacock (free with my cable subscription). I always liked it; just watched S1:E1; looking forward to more.
  6. This feels weird to post, but did anyone else think of Timeless when the teen with the last name of Rittenhouse (allegedly) shot & killed 2 people in Kenosha WI?
  7. Monday funny - I'm either late for last Thursday, or early for this Thursday! I was going to tell you a joke about an egg but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be!
  8. No idea, is she really? Loved the tribute to Wilford Brimley at the end, too.
  9. I have never been paid for manual labor, but in my youth, I did a lot of it. I grew up on a farm and shoveled, performed electrical work, done plumbing repair, learned how to change a tire, etc., and helped my dad with repairs, and so forth. As an adult, I’ve done various home repairs, including helping to hang drywall. I also worked for a construction company, but in the office (payroll & accounting). I have tremendous admiration and respect for those competing, putting themselves out there! I’m way behind in watching, only watched the first three episodes, but I’m looking forward to seeing more.
  10. I hate the Car Shield commercial where the woman says, “I was elated! I was more than happy.” Buy that woman a thesaurus, and have her look up redundancy!
  11. There's a newer vaccine, Shingrix, that requires two jabs, 2 to 6 months apart. I took my first one in December, but had to wait to June to get the second, which was OK. I was able to get mine in June at Walgreens. Mine have the strap adjustment at the back. But once I set it on a new bra, I generally never have to adjust it again. I set it before I put it on.
  12. All this talk of fonts makes me miss The Middle even more! Youngest child Brick was obsessed with fonts, to the point of organizing a font club at school.
  13. Also copied from facebook. I caught my son chewing on electrical cords, so I had to ground him. He's doing better currently, and conducting himself properly.
  14. My official certified birth certificate has the names of my adoptive parents, no mention of adoption or bio parents. I was adopted in 1953, and grew up knowing that I was adopted. There is an earlier certificate that has my bio parents as parents, but I had to ask and, I think, know the name(s) to obtain a copy. At that time, my state had open records (1983 or so), but I believe that law changed, making those records much more difficult to obtain.
  15. Wilford Brimley first came to my attention in The Natural. I loved watching him on the screen. His appearance was similar to my brother who was about 15 years younger.
  16. Except Sara, who dunked hers in the champagne bucket just before spurned mistress (sorry, don’t recall her name at the moment) turned up seeking revenge? attention? love & support? What a horrible time in history to be a woman! Although when hasn’t it been? Getting better, but two steps forward then one step back...
  17. Yes, sometimes. When the category was Women Playwrights (?), I immediately said Lillian Hellman. Then when the clue specified the years (1980s), I couldn’t come up with the correct name. We’re having thunderstorms, so missed portions of tonight’s show. I like all three of them, Foster, Lane, and Connick, but was happy Foster won!
  18. Enjoyed the celeb Jeopardy! w/Burnett, Mills, Philbin. I was never a big fan of Regis in any of his iterations, but still nice to see him in this.
  19. I don't know when it first appeared here, but I saw the first episode on Netflix last night. An early unexpected twist already. I don't think I've seen any of the actors in anything else. I'm intrigued enough to keep watching.
  20. I watched the movie this afternoon. I hadn't seen the first Psych movie until earlier this week - also using peacock. I have Cox Contour, so pretty easy to set up. Really enjoyed both movies, but it was great seeing Omundson. He first came to my attention in Judging Amy, and I've liked him ever since. Very funny in Galavant, too.
