  1. For a clever and usually funny show, this show is totally tone deaf when it comes to race and race relations of the era. It started way back in Season 1when they had a black cosmetic saleswoman at B Altman in 1959. Never would have happened and if by some chance there was a black saleslady in any department of a NewYork store, she would have been shades lighter than the actress on this series. Black wasn't considered beautiful then unless it was Lena Horne or Dorothy Dandridge.
