  1. I did read the book, though it was years ago, so I didn't have much trouble following the story. There were parts of the book I'd forgotten, like the Verena/Baptist Plan stuff, but the Jennifer stuff really stuck with me--probably for obvious reasons (just watch the news). Love seeing all these actresses--I remember Tamara from ATWT all those years ago!
  2. I loved when Holt was defending beans by saying they were "unsullied by flavor." HA!
  3. I didn't think this was the funniest thing ever, but I enjoyed it anyway. I did laugh when that one guy was pouring a martini for Karen in the Oval Office and she was like, "What's with the Laura Bush pour? I want the full Pat Nixon!"
  4. I also loved this show a lot, and watched the whole series over a couple of weeks when it first came out, which is really fast for me. :) I keep thinking back to the loaf coach, that was inspired and hilarious.
  5. ElectricBoogaloo, thanks for posting that Madonna video. That's the one I immediately thought of when I saw Rebecca's number. That Madonna video sure brought back memories--I haven't seen it in years. I don't think I've ever laughed harder when I heard Rebecca start singing Period Sex. I had to go back and watch it again I thought it was so hilarious, wish it had been a whole song! I'm pretty disappointed about Paula's pregnancy--I mean, do we really have to have this show be like every other TV show in history? Then again, as someone mentioned, the show is always surprising us, so hopefully it will lead us somewhere we don't usually see on TV. I'm fine with her getting an abortion, since it happens a lot in real life too, and yeah, I was a little surprised it wasn't mentioned as a possibility. Greg better not be going anywhere. I thought the season 2 premiere suffered since he was in it so little. I know he's got issues but I really enjoy his scenes and especially his songs. But I think his character is being smart by not letting himself be dragged back into Rebecca's drama. Neither of them should be in a relationship with anyone right now, let alone each other. (Even though I kind of ship them against my better judgment.) I'm glad Josh finally decided he was out, and wow, Rebecca sure seemed to get over him quickly. Or did she?
  6. I did laugh at the nurse's name, Nurse Chapel. (Big Star Trek fan here.) Otherwise, I thought this was a big letdown compared to the pilot. The pilot made me laugh, but this one, nah. Like another poster said, it was just so pedestrian and unoriginal. Oh, she couldn't get a nap--no mother, working or not, gets to take a nap. I've been a SAHM and a working mom and both are HARD. Maybe I'm too close to the whole thing and that's why I didn't find it funny. I too felt there was some moralizing about how the best moms are the ones who are there for their kids after school. Some people work and are there for their kids after school too! And some people put their kids in after school care, which is fine too and is what I did, and I think my kids were better off for it. Bleh, the whole thing just rubbed me the wrong way. I actually thought the not parking her car thing was amusing, because I never want to park my car either, and I never know if it's okay to just leave it for a minute if I'm at the school in the middle of the day and I'm just dropping something off. There's never a crossing guard there though.
  7. I agree with those who said this episode was better than just about anything we saw last season. Of course, that may be because I was so excited to see Tyler Hoechlin playing Clark/Superman. When I first heard his name being floated as a possible Man of Steel I refused to get my hopes up because I didn't want to be disappointed. He was even better than I expected! I could just gush about him all day, but you Teen Wolf watchers already know what I'm talking about. And yeah, I think he's got the physicality to play Superman. He's very athletic and he can bulk up in a matter of weeks if necessary. I've seen a video of him doing a back flip on a basketball court. Maybe they can give him higher heeled boots if people think he's too short, heh. I'm a huge fan of Clark Kent but I'm an even bigger fan of Lois and Clark (the couple and the show). I was happy to hear that it seems like Lois and Clark are going strong, and I loved Clark's conversation with Cat where Clark said Lois had room for both him and Superman in her life, and Cat was all, "How very modern of you." The look on poor Clark's face when he realized what she meant had me LOL. And to whoever said they think Nina Dobrev would be perfect for Lois, I agree. The first time I saw her on the Vampire Diaries I thought she looked like a young Teri Hatcher. Nina is so talented I'm sure she'd do a great job. My only worry is that I haven't seen Tyler have much romantic chemistry with any actresses...he had chemistry with Melissa but more of a friendly chemistry. Speaking of chemistry, I agree with everyone who's fine with Kara and James as a couple being over. It was rather abrupt, especially after wasting so much time on it last season, but I hope they don't revisit that, because yeah, they really did not have chemistry. Apparently people in real life say Tyler smells really nice so I wonder if that's why Alex had that line...
