And driving around the property on those battery jeeps wasn't safe. Lilah was out of control.

I am a child of the 70s who as a kid was handed 10 inch lawn darts to throw around and slept in the back window of dad's giant Pontiac on road trips and even I was like WTF?! Where is Jackson's helmet at least and why are you laughing at your equally helmetless daughter who's um A BABY driving around the backyard like she's in need of a sobriety test?!

    Idiots.

  2. So Contemporary guy who was amazing (audible gasps from the judges on his jump) gets a no because he needs to "show more of himself" or something. Meanwhile mediocre at best break dancing guy gets a yes and a chance to bring more because I don't know.

    I miss the old show.

  3. Ffs. More and more I appreciate that I got to grow up when I did. Everything is so ridiculous now. Some of my fondest memories as a kid was time spent at a cottage where we listened and danced to ABBA in particular. Never until this episode did I think Dancing Queen was about a drag queen. Probably because it isn't. Also, Conway Twitty was on permanent spin at that cottage. Bum bum bum.

Love the episodes where Jackie is off her meds.

  4. Nothing against Dan and Shay but were there NO other female singers available to judge? I like when there's a better balance energy wise. I'm not sure how this is going to work. Or even how much I care. Overall this show isn't the same for me without Kelly and Blake.

  5. "Pain don't hurt."

Ok that's not exactly what Colter said but that's what I heard. Not sure if the Road House homage was intentional but I'll take it. Hope Patrick Swayze is dancing somewhere in peace.

The whole thing was weird.  There were scenes where it felt like they were filming Estelle Parsons at some different point in time from the main scene

Yes. I think they shot some of her isos separately and used a standin for Jackie's closeups at the train. Agree with comments up thread. Really well done part of this episode.

I laughed at the Peter Tork comment from Ben. That was FUNNY.

Didn't really understand the chicken thing but I knew I had seen it before.

As a little person with serious health issues and his surgical history, I would think Zach would have regular doctor visits, no?

That was bonkers. The whole thing was. And Tori's comment that it wasn't until his heart rate dropped that he "jumped the line?" I mean excruciating headache and you're puking screams front of the line to me even without the fact that he HAS A MEDICAL DEVICE IN HIS BRAIN. Hopefully this was a wakeup call. Seems like it was when he kept talking about being a dad. Maybe find some new doctors. I was shocked when Matt mentioned he's been have problems for the last 4 years.

Matt's house is huge but it's one level too. So if you stacked it into floors it wouldn't be as long but ya still huge. Lol

  8. *5 tries to finally get to these forums???

Anyway....I already like all of these contestants better than anyone from last season except for the country kid Colin so there's that. Colin epitomized what the show was supposed to be and should have won imo. I still look at a couple of his performances on YouTube because they were so good. Literally plucked from the farm. Luke did a good job with him.            (end of rant)

But speaking of Luke, I did lol at the noise he made taunting Katy when her manager exclaimed with respect to Jack "what is wrong with you guys?"  I'm sure it was all probably maybe staged but I still laughed. And it was cool to see the crew. Stirred some memories for me as that's what I used to do. Job could be fun but also hell. Lol

And on a sidenote, I was happy to see Iam looking seemingly happy. Didn't like how the show exploited his story and grief last season. There were times he really didn't look like he was having fun. Hopefully he's good now.

  9. If she really was a part of the show because she wanted to work with and discover/develop new talent then I don't blame her for leaving because that's not what the show is anymore.

  10. I was looking for a new show to get into and had read good things about this one but I literally can't with the one camera quick zooms and violent panning. When I was working in TV we called this vomit cam. I don't know why camera in perpetual motion has infiltrated nearly every form of production now even interviews. But here we are. Maybe it's just to give me one more thing to hate about this world.

Wow, what a shocking continuity problem this episode had! Nick Offerman comes into the restaurant, Dan is there, Nick goes into the kitchen. Cut to Dan and Darlene at a diner somewhere on their way to (or back from) Chicago, I thought OK maybe there's a time jump here. Then cut back to the restaurant, Nick is still in the kitchen and Dan is still there! WTF.

Ok good. It really happened. I thought it was my edible kicking in.

Dawson was great but got zero screen time and then hosed by the panel for not staying in his box.

I was just going to read the comments and not post anything because um the show was in the spring! Lol But...this. THIS!! I thought Dawson was one of the most intriguing contestants I've seen in a long time. Very talented with both a unique voice and personality. And the judges, all of them, I won’t say have hated on him, but certainly have been less than encouraging. I just don't get it! I'm guessing it's a producing thing and he doesn't fit the narrative for this season and for spoiler reasons I'm not going to google him at this point but I'll tell you what, if I was a talent agent watching he's the guy I'd be focusing on. Like does he want to act? Sing and act? Certainly wouldn't be the judge's darling Zachariah. Nothing against the kid. And this I get.

  13. Meh I miss Kelly. Don't get me wrong, I like Gwen but John in Kelly's chair isn't doing it for me. She had an energy that is missing and it would have been fun with she and Reba on the ends and the boys in the middle. With Niall trying so hard to be Blake she could have played off of that with some added phone bits of Blake. But seems like she's done with show.

Contestants were Ok. Nothing amazing for me. We'll see. This season will definitely be helped by the lack of scripted production with the strikes.

  14. Late to the party but just watched the finale. Had it recorded forever and somehow I remained spoiler free.

Liked the Blake tribute with all the former winners and he seemed genuinely touched by it.

As much as Blake was this show he clearly was ready to move on. Multiple shots of him looking bored made this obvious. I'm in the minority here but Annoivas was not my favorite and Blake's overt bromance with him was annoying. He even looked initially pissed when Grace was first voted through. It made me more able to say goodbye to him although I would bet money he's going to turn up at some point as a mentor with Gwen as a judge. I do like that he seemed to really care about the people on his teams and I will miss his humour.

Was surprised the kid got voted out so early Riley Tate (?) I thought his voice was exceptional but then that's not always what this show is about.

I'm really looking forward to the next season in two weeks. Reba will be awesome although I will miss Kelly. I enjoy her energy and she provided a viable alternative for the country leaning contestants. Who will win a country artist now over Reba will be interesting.

Gwen without Blake will be a different dynamic.

Chance the Rapper seemed as bored as Blake at times so won't miss him.

I was shocked that Theo Huxtable is now playing grandfather's

When he showed up as Bill's older brother, I felt 75.

Clisby is one of my faves on this show.

Kim's delivery of "five different colleges" to her mom's "ohh child" during the pregnancy reveal was the best moment in the episode I thought. The actress Laura Kariuki who plays Kim is amazing. Her timing and facial expressions are stellar. She steals scenes on this show. I will miss her the most if the series doesn't return. If it doesn't I hope she continues to work in comedy.

That Klingon headpiece wasn't quite right to me. I thought it looked fake even within the context of the show.

It was terrible and distracting. I kept staring at it. The hair was so fake. I mean not even close to STNG standards.

Everything has pretty much been covered so I will just mention that I liked the metaphor of Bio Bed 2 how M'Benga couldn't get it to work until he completed his mission and killed Rah. I think the bed represents him. It's fixed and working for now but it isn't going to last.

This episode is worth rewatching just for Pike's reaction faces. Anson Mount was having a blast.

My absolute favorite comedic moment of episode was when Pike attempts to serve more Vulcan food at Sevet's request, but that's the moment Spock reveals his "humanness" so Pike veers aaaaway from the group with the tray of food he was carrying!  OMG, I literally LOL

I rewound this scene about 5 times! Mount is so good at reaction face.

Sevet seems like he'd be a hoot at a party. He was more than willing to try anything Pike was throwing at him. He has to be the victim of an arranged marriage. Poor guy.

I liked when and how Chapel told the other two to turn around when she was confessing her true feelings. Like they can hear you.

I'm sorry but I thoroughly enjoyed this episode so much so I feel I have to apologize to the people so clearly upset by it. I'm at the just entertain me age and point in my television viewing because so little of it does now and this episode did.

  18. I have bad tinnitus in real life so not a great starting point.

I found the episode slow and depressing at times but I liked the concept of living without memories good or bad. I mean I have many I'd like to forget.

Glad to have Pike back. Liked the Ortegas stuff.

The old guy reminded me of Ridley Scott.
