It’s hard enough to watch the young ones embarrass themselves. It’s just painful to watch seniors. Reality TV really strips people of their good sense. Fame and money are powerful, seducing seniors to pretend they are still young and sexy.
I hope we’ve seen the last of these senior bachelors and ‘ettes.

I was really charmed by The Golden franchise and the idea of second loves and a more mature (one would assume!) twist on this often-failed experiment. But this quick break-up really took the wind out of it, and joke's on me for thinking the older crowd would be more genuine and serious. I think, for the most part, the women who signed up were serious - but once production and the limelight sinks their claws in, things change. I don't trust that Gerry was ever really for real. The only way this would be successful for him is if whomever he chose followed his every whim moving forward.

You're probably right and that may be why they haven't announced a Golden Bachelorette - the franchise is always so quick to announce the next Bachelor/Bachelorette, and they really had no excuse when they already have a pool of Golden women to pull from. Unless none of them want to do it.

Since Gerry is retired, and if he were really in love with Teresa, he wouldn't mind moving to New Jersey. And then they can vacation at his lake house or whatever.

Women move all the time for their spouses, so I'm happy that Teresa held strong on not wanting to leave her job. People who love their jobs are fortunate, and it would be difficult for her to find a job in a new city at 70 years old. Let's not act like ageism isn't a thing. Gerry's in the more flexible position and could move.

In any case, location is one of the biggest flaws for The Bachelor franchise, and even more so for The Golden Bachelor as these are people who have lives and roots where they currently live. Perhaps for the future, tptb can think about casting people who are local, or at least in surrounding areas, to the (Golden) Bachelor/Bachelorette. Even Faith (third place) didn't want to move from her ranch in Washington.

  3. Why do we even bother rooting for relationships in The Bachelor franchise? The success stories are few and far between.

I was so charmed by The Golden Bachelor concept, but it turns out it's all bull💩 no matter the age.

I'm sure ABC pressured them to get married within months of the final rose because they wanted to take advantage of the hype. I at least hope Teresa and Gerry (more Teresa than Gerry) were in on the ruse. Good on her for having a prenup!

I'm curious as to the reason why. Whatever it is, I lean toward him being the more disingenuous of the two because she comes off as the more responsible one. She likely wasn't going to put up with his 💩 and he knew it. Guess he should've picked Leslie after all.

Yeah, it was nice to see Arizona but having her on for such a small role and basically none of the interns fawning over her like they should be was downright embarrassing.

We haven't seen Arizona in years and we get no updates on her and disrespect from the intern class, who only care about getting back in the OR. They're gonna learn nothing from this, at the end of the day.

Exactly! These interns didn't give a 💩 about the "magic" of her groundbreaking surgery. So what was even the point if not to inspire them to want to be better? They're mopey and moody and it's annoying. I don't understand what the storyline is supposed to be, here, but they wasted Arizona's one appearance in the process.

If the rumors (I've only seen one) are true that season 21 could be the last, maybe they're setting up Richard retiring and will have a revolving door of oldies come through next season...? Or why not just make him Chief, again? He can oversee everything from an administrative standpoint.

  5. It was nice to see Arizona, but she might as well have been a random visiting doctor for the case-of-the-week. We didn't get to hear about her life in the six years she's been gone, which is something fans would want to know - speaking for myself, at least.

She did have scenes with Bailey, which I enjoyed, but I was disappointed that she didn't interact at all with Richard or Teddy - who she had established relationships with on the show.

For a publicized return of an old character's return, it felt rather disconnected.

  6. Producers really shit the bed with the Bachelorette pick. I'm sure Jenn is lovely (though when they announced her, I was like, "Who?!"), but they literally had an audience pick for the entire season (Maria - and I say that because she seemed very popular on social media/in the Bachelor hashtag). Why wouldn't they pick someone the viewers are excited about? Unless Maria turned it down, it doesn't make sense.

And Daisy saying no on camera had to have been planned. They aren't going to announce a Bachelorette without having her signed on the dotted line. They're not going to say, "Okay, let's ask Daisy, but if she says no then #2 you're up!"

I'm rooting for Joey and Kelsey. They make for such a sweet couple.

I will never understand this new trope of justifying violence because of words. That is not how self defense works. I find it hard to believe that all the people making excuses for others violent reactions towards Candiace live their life in this manner. How is that socially possible? How many altercations are you involved in per week? Do you only hit people you think will not or cannot defend themselves or do you go toe to toe pound for pound with all your adversaries? I'm genuinely curious. Asking for myself because I have a smart mouth, no fear but can't fight. A bad combination. I need to know if I should take Taekwondo?

No one is justifying violence. It's stupid to get physical over liquid being thrown at you. It's stupid to throw liquid instead of exchanging words. But let's not act like Candiace doesn't go hard running her mouth. It's just like Kenya with the specter on RHOA and when Porsha had enough and lunged at her. Deborah was confronting her for the things she said last season, as I imagine this is the first time they've been in the same space. But Deborah could've just let it go, but she wants attention and to be on the show so she blew up this issue further.

Keiarna, bless her, was trying to deescalate and it was just wrong place wrong time. But let Candiace deal with her own mess. You see how, when it was over and Deborah was being removed from the premises, all was said and done, Candiace was still running her mouth like a chihuahua? All bark and no bite, but we're supposed to pretend Candiace is completely innocent.

I'm just saying, not everyone is going to let smart mouths fly. Physical violence isn't right, but let's not act like Candiace isn't a provacator. Just like Monique back then. I'm sure, rightfully, Deborah will be banned from RHOP stuff.

Candiace tried to get feisty on RHUGT, but the girlies from the other franchises weren't having it. Make no mistake, I am not defending Deborah. Who even is she? But I'm just saying, at some point accountability has to fall on Candiace for her actions, too.

  8. Candiace thinks she can run her mouth and go unchecked. Yes, Deborah is thirsty and went heavy on the confrontation for attention and camera time. But this isn't the first time Candiace has said shit and poked people. At some point, poke the wrong person, and you're gonna get poked back. What's funny is that she stayed back and grabbed the champagne bottle like she was going to do something (she wasn't. lol!).

Ashley's allowed to invite whomever she wants to her event. It's laughable that people want to blame her for other people's actions.

  9. Lexi and Edward are wonderfully weird together and I'm so glad the show seems to have veered away from hinting at Nell and Edward. TJ, however, is great fit for Nell. I'm enjoying the vibes between those two.

    That’s just not true.

From an interview with one of the producers:

If the "oath" only goes so far as: you can't announce who else is a traitor once you've been exposed, then it's flimsy. Dan was as close to doing that as he could get. Of course no traitor is going to act under the guise of being a traitor, they are going to pretend to be a faithful like everyone else.

But none of the rules matter, because when faithfuls can cut each other at the very end just so 2 can go home with more money, it's all bullshit. The shock and outrage everyone had at every roundtable when they realized a fellow faithful was banished: bullshit. Because CT and Trishelle knew MJ was a faithful and said, "nah, we don't want to share". So fuck it! Anything goes!

The pulling the rug out from under someone is only exciting when a traitor does it, because they are supposed to be the "bad guys". That's their job. Cirie taking season 1 as a traitor, completely gobsmacking the other faithfuls in the end, that's the game. Faithfuls fucking over other faithfuls at the very end when all is said and done is just slimy. YMMV

  11. Phaedra calling Dan a piece of shit was hilarious. And she's not wrong.

His flimsy excuse for outing her, when literally no one had her on their radar, was weak. He acts like he couldn't have won with his fellow traitor(s). Dan isn't stupid, he wanted to give the faithfuls the advantage. They were already suspicious of Parvati and he knew no one suspected Phaedra. And since he couldn't win, he didn't want the other traitors to win, either. What he did wasn't "game play". He was butt hurt and petty.

    A piece of shit, indeed.

As for the rules, the traitors "oath" is useless.

  12. I'm happy to hear it's Kelsey because she seems very sweet and her & Joey make a great match. I sincerely hope this works out for them in the long run.

Maria has a one-way ticket to Paradise. But I wish she were the next Bachelorette if it has to be one of the later women. She'd at least be more fun than Daisy, who is dull. And if she's not dull, then she just wasn't into Joey and couldn't muster enough enthusiasm to hide it.

I liked Lexi, too, and think she'd be a great Bachelorette. Maybe since she self-eliminated it disqualified her? I don't know the rules.

Child the text Kyle sent Dorit before the reunion to “silence” her

Dorit is always over-dramatic, but in this instance she isn't wrong.

After month(s) of not speaking, Kyle only reached out because it was the day before the reunion and she didn't want Dorit to bring their rift up that could paint her (Kyle) in a bad light.

Had the reunion not been the next day, when would Kyle have reached out to Dorit to talk? And why didn't she do it when there was plenty of time before the reunion?

Kyle's been a sniper from the side for forever. And she always tries to control the narrative in her favor. She demands her fellow castmates be open and honest about their lives, but doesn't do the same herself.

I don't care much for Dorit, but I'm glad she's calling Kyle out - even if it's on a small scale.

  14. Morgan was with Kyle in NY when she did WWHL. I don't know about you all, but I don't hold or rub my friends low on their hips.

Kyle isn't a victim in her marriage. If they fell out of love, just say that! No one is forcing her to "come out" or whatever, but she's nasty for planting the seeds and trying to imply that the marital issues are all Mauricio's fault. As we've all seen for years, Kyle never ever takes accountability for stuff. Everything is everyone else's fault, and she just starts to cry when she's confronted.

And I won't be surprised if Andy tosses her softballs at the reunion.

  15. I am so on board with Lexi/Edward, and I hope it develops into something.

I just don't get a vibe beyond friendship between Nell and Edward, and him and Lexi have a spark.

Brad Garrett is excellent casting for Lexi's dad/the owner of the paper.

Our long national nightmare is over!

Not just a waste of airtime, but a waste of money. And after the strikes, studios are going to do everything they can to save a buck. And Che Diaz isn't worth a dime.

  17. "Everybody uses vibrators! They're party favors these days." 😅

I had so much fun. Hope they do more RHONY Legacy trips. I think this is the perfect setting to bring the gals together - short and sweet. They can add a few more, rotate some out. (note: Leah and Eboni are not Legacy!) Make the season a couple episodes longer (6 is too short!).

These broads are out of touch, head in the clouds, chaotic, but so very real.

    Until next time! ✌️

  18. I wanted to see more of the reception. At least their first dance!

I wanted to see more of the women from the show, them interacting and having a good time.

This probably would've been better if it wasn't a live event. If they taped the wedding and then cut together a solid two hour episode that covers their journey, the ceremony, a bit of the reception (the important bits), and the other women + notable bachelor alumni interacting.

The gold carpet was not a good idea. Kathy and Charity did a whole lot of scene chewing when that time could've been spent on seeing the good stuff.

    YMMV
