  1. Because JG doesn't know how to gradually phase in new characters without overexposing them. Case in point Audra, and now Jordan(NuHarrison will likely follow as they bothered to recast for a reason). At least Audra was entertaining after a while....not to me 100% but meh I'm in the minority. But still, overexposure is overexposure at the end of the day imo. Even if the audience likes a character, they don't need to see them everyday for weeks on end. Certainly not with this dumpster fire writing. Same here. I think if after she & Kyle broke up and she completely forgot about the kid when he grew attached to her she would be seen as a shitty (ex)stepmom for up and ditching him. Or at least that's how I'd see her. And not for nothing, Kyle more or less stole Harrison from Ashland after the DNA test came back. He wasn't in Harrison's life before that. But if Ashland came back from the dead tomorrow, I highly doubt Kyle would be expected to hand Harrison over to his original father or defer to him at all in terms of parenting. Brilliant on all other points as well, even if Harrison was her own flesh & blood, her acting like his kidnapping is only effecting her would still be fucking annoying. Dummer maybe if you told your mother to go fuck herself after she returned from the dead you'd be around Harrison more in the first place. More to that point, if the writers wanted to force a "sympathetic" Dummer on us, then this would be the time for her to lash out on her mother(and herself)for bringing bad karma on her, and the kid. Instead lashing out on Kyle, and everyone else. Then maybe we could be bothered to give a shit.
  2. ^^^Now this happening would be worthy an Emmy. Wonderful post! Now that you mention it, another reason I don't find Claire a suitable addition is she essentially feels like a half-assed replacement for baby Ava. A popular(or at least formerly popular) pairing, with more promise was shitted out of a daughter just so we could sit through wooden Cole, hypocrite Victoria, and hamfisted, rectonned beyond belief Claire. Then there's equally unnecessary soap kid Harrison being shoved into this played out Jordan shit like it makes sense.....like how are people actually paid to fuck up a show this spectacularly???? Even in relation to the usual drivel this episode sucked ass. I agree with @boes that Alison Lainey did a good job but I say this as someone who still haunted by HK's Dummer. I still stand on Claire not being owed anything, but I will concede that since Dummer still has her trash ass mother in her life & has yet to pull Grampire's card over Marco, she can't tell anyone else what to do about their chosen psychopath, and needs to pump the brakes.
  3. I don't believe there is any rhyme or reason for Ashley's DID. The writers pulled it out of their ass. Trying to make sense of it is more effort than they put into it. I'm sure down the line they'll pull a reason as to why she had it out of their ass too. I didn't know Billy had DID either. I don't think I was watching then or I mercifully blocked it out, because only thing worse than ED trying to play DID, is JT playing DID. I guess the dominant personality was that of one who was a scum sucking, step-niece banging, fraudulent, selfish piece of shit. Which is sad for so many reasons. As if handing out businesses to every other character wasn't enough. Now Josh is giving people DID like it's Halloween candy.🙄 I have no problem with Summer's mistrust of Claire(now her opinion of Diane is predictably stupid of her) in fact, not rushing to kiss her weird, awkward ass is about the smartest thing she's ever done. Everything about how Claire is being shoehorned & insta accepted really grinds my gears. Changing history just to accommodate her presence in the story makes her look worse not better. Also a good point that was made before is that Claire wasn't raised in some bubble or basement, she has plenty of human interaction with the outside world to know right from wrong. If she never left home, I might understand more. But she & Jordan lived in Oregon and Wharton is in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia to be exact....3,000 fucking miles away. For years. And Claire didn't produce an orginal thought once? She might actually take Summer's place as idiot of the family one day. All the more reason for Summer to be weary & defensive. She's worked hard for that title, and wants to keep it.
  4. Shouldn't Jack of all people be aware that Ashley has had several mental breakdowns before? Why did him & Billy act like Ashley has led the life of someone completely sane all the time? I think ED can do crazy just fine(Kristen DiMera) just not DID crazy. But the writing is so ass it doesn't matter who was playing this. It's an outdated trope in the hands of a hack. No one could save this imo. While I wouldn't be too sad to see Audra go, I think killing her is a tad extreme even if I find her character to be medicore & wasted potential. It's nothing a better writer or limited screentime couldn't fix. Maybe. Tucker has lost some luster but I still like TSJ a lot and I'd hate it even more if he left. Although TPTB learned nothing from sacrificing Ashland. Serious question...Are they really gonna kill off every male character(save for Adam but they kill him narratively so there's really no difference)that shits on the current male leads, and just hope we don't notice??? Audra taking the fall doesn't even make sense because despite her back & forth with him, she's never had any murderous intent towards Tucker. There's no omnious "I will make you pay" build up from her. But I'm sure the fine detectives of GCPD will ignore that....😒 The more I think about it, Josh is ripping off DOOL just as much as OLTL with this dumpster fire. Abigail Horton also had DID(which was almost as stupid as Ashley randomly having it if memory serves) and she killed someone, then framed Gabi Hernandez for it. Gabi went to prison, more stuff happened. But the gist here is that, Josh Griffith's lack of creativity has reached the stages of ripping off other SLs while completely missing the point and/or botching the best parts of the copied SL. Gabi was not a newbie, throughly developed, had strong ties with people her own age on the show and ties to everyone that was involved in her framing. Especially Abigail, who used to be her friend but betrayed her. Imo JG has given Audra very little of that. So the stakes don't feel as high. Her strongest relationship is with Tucker, which sucks because they've spent most of their time flip-flopping. Assuming Tucker is the one to bite dust, how am I supposed to be invested in Audra's grief of him when literally every week the writers could hardly decide if she's using him/loves him or not?
  5. Caught up over the weekend, and wow....Jill & John raised a fake little bitch didn't they? Billy essentially encourages Heather & Daniel to sue Lily/the company for wrongful termination(way to look out for CW you dickhead!) Then days later he's in Lily's face about taking over CW with her and ousting Devon? Guess he can add CW to the list if companies he's fucked over & ruined. Devon's treatment of Tucker would ring more true, if he never forgave Lily for killing Hillary & his kid. Not that I have a strong opinion on Tucker being worth it or not, but he literally can't be any worse of a family member than Lily. Who again, harassed Hillary for months, and then got her & the baby killed. So...if she can walk all that back, Devon might as well keep an open mind, and be cordial. Lest he looks more hypocritical than usual. Adam & Chelsea's handwringing over Connor is actually killing the show as much as the writing & shitty greenscreens are. This special "school" didn't find out anything that a therapist in Genoa City or in the whole state in general couldn't find out. No shit his parents are his triggers. Chelsea especially, cos honestly to my recollection of the last 2 1/2 years Adam has been present & stable for Connor. This is the first I'm hearing of Adam being the town/Newman whipping boy, hampering his ability to parent properly. Not saying he's perfect, but he's not Billy, or Nick, and he's certainly not Victor for that matter. Like if they want to have Connor be a troubled preteen/teen then fine, that tracks given his surroundings. Whether Adam is factored in or not, his mom(who tried to kill herself) is sleeping with the guy that tried to kill his father, and made it his business to make him miserable & expose him. Connor should have a POV about that. There's some textbook soapy drama right there. Or if they have to make it all Adam's fault, at least make it relevant. Adam is back with the woman that curved him for his brother, and acted indignant about it the whole time. Why can't Connor have angst over that & have an outburst where he tells Sally off? Or he blows up & tells Adam how weak he is for still eating shit from the Newmans knowing he is always gonna have hoops to jump through. Then, seeing what poor example he sets for his son by throwing himself at the feet of a clan of douchebags for penace, Adam finally finds the strength to chuck the deuces and give his family his ass to kiss for good this time. Ffs writers, this isn't hard, I swear it's not....
  6. Mariah, but not because I think Lily would 100% suck at it or anything. They've never had serious beef with one another(that I can recall)even though Lily got her friend killed. Lily will give it her best shot but she's surrounded by assholes in general, one of them she's related to, and the other is hosting.....I can't blame her for being in a pissy mood. Mariah will likely go in for a laugh that sells the whole speech.
  7. Hard choice indeed, all 4 ladies have been through something, and are on the other side of it. Although I have to disagree that Sally was a badass on B&B. She had potential to be yes. However Bradley made her a loser/punching bag on that show. Bill almost killed her, destroyed her livelihood(something that still negatively impacts her to this day), and she never got his ass back for that. Nor did she get to slug The Forrester harpy for ruining her relationship with Thomas, & was thrown under the bus for a babynapper. Sally hasn't fared too much better on Y&R in my eyes. Being Dummer's stepping stone to redemption that JG shat on post recast anyway, & being a doormat to GC in general. But she did get in Phylty's face when prompted, so I'll give her that. It sucks that Mariah & Nina aren't paired, because they're the only ones I can outright call tough. They'll both be carrying their teammates. So with that in mind, Lily is less deadweight than Sally imo. I really hate to vote against my girl Nina, but I gotta give this particular challenge to Lily & Mariah.
  8. Thanks for this, I forgot how much I loved Patrick Drake. I also forgot he basically called Carly a bitch to her face Lmao! I liked him & Robin together. Even as a Jason/Robin fan but if I'm being real, Robin deserved better than Jason. I've definitely said this before but SJB, TB are the only Carly's I kinda liked. However she, like Steffy, is high-key an awful person lol. SJB/TB plus better writing, just knew how to made her look human/nuanced back in the day. LW plays Carly the way JMW plays Steffy, but what's interesting is that even Carly has gotten more verbal drags, slaps & comeuppance most short lived, but still happened. Not so much in the last decade & a half ofc, but in sum total, definitely more than Steffy. Even though they're both equally propped/forced as the heroic HBICs in their respective shows.
  9. Well my spiteshipping of Thope barley lasted a week. Thomas putting Douglas in adult business again, and using him to make Hope feel guilty brought me back to my senses. I'm not sure what his half-assed comment to Steffy about not trashing Hope came from but he's a day late and dollar short with it. Also NOW everyone remembers Caroline? When Hope was still married to Liam, and outright rejecting Thomas all I heard for years is "Hope is Douglas' mother. So Hope & Thomas have to xyz, etc." But now Caroline is a factor? Because Hope doesn't want to marry Thomas? That's too fucked up for words. I'm okay with Thomas leaving Hope, on his fucking own terms without Steffy's uninformed opinion about something that's none of her business. For some reason that part seems not to click because Hope wore that necklace. Like okay just forget that Thomas asked her to do it after already being turned down again.....If sex, defending him at every turn, forgiving him for helping keep her baby from her, and working with him wasn't enough for his whiny, turncoat ass, then nothing would be enough. Not even marriage. Yeah...Hope should not look at this as a loss. I know, right? Like what kind of relationship do Steffy and Thomas have exactly? I could understand if Steffy meant that Thomas spent so much time with Hope that he none left for his family or if Hope and Thomas moved to Antarctica at Hope’s insistence. Steffy and Thomas live in the same neighborhood and work in the same damn building. She and the og Stephanie the definition of emotional incest. A better soap would portray that as weird and disturbing, instead of endearing and rootable. Even if she were looking out for her grown, completely autonomous brother, why drag Brooke into it then? Why call Hope everything but a child of god? What's the grand excuse for that? Other than Steffy is the queen and she's never out of pocket...She's not protecting anyone she's being a bully and is thoroughly enjoying it. I'm neutral on Hope stealing Finn away, it's not like Steffy doesn't deserve it. But with Liam up her ass & Finn being conflicted about pycho Sheila, it might not be much of an L in the long run. Steffy will remember the pain of an ass whooping next time she wants to talk shit though. Most bullies, who end up getting fucked up do.
  10. I like Abby enough, but I don't think she's ever had or won a real fight. Mia snatched her up like it was nothing(which I thought was BS but still), Sharon smacked her & almost beat her up, I think even Dummer kinda gave her the work once. If the show still got down like that, Amanda would've kicked her ass after catching her with Devon. She can hardly fight, but one thing doesn’t necessarily have to do with the other. So maybe she could toss a 30lbs backpack idk...I just personally don't see it. Lauren OTOH, has fights that are part of iconic vintage soap catfights. Just about any soap fight compilation on YouTube will have at least one of her fights vs. Traci and/or Shelia. And I don't think she's aged out of being able to throw down quite yet. So I'll have to say Lauren, even if I like Abby more.
  11. Diane: Claire touched a spinning wheel and dreamed that her mother slept with Kyle. When caught, she said "What? My mother & I used to shag each other's (ex)boyfriends all the time! We're bringing this back for you! Your final initiation into our clan is to now shag one of mine! FYI Nate & Stitch are the only ones that don't father one of your siblings!" Sally: Christine saw a sign for guitar themed pasties and thought that Danny could use them. Sharon: If she's off her meds, I think this bitch is capable of just about anything tbh. I wouldn't want to be stuck with her in an scenario like that. Mariah: Poor Esther was already worn out from running a coffee shop and being receptionist at CW, and she passed out. Luckily a nearby news chopper found & rescued her. Now she owns Starbucks. So fuck that mansion anyways. Lily: Ashley's alter #1 told alter #2 that Lily had the psych ward on speed dial & to stay away from her. The dominant personality kept smelling croissants, traumatized. She walked in the opposite direction. Nina: She's a secret badass. Traci saw her older sister talking to herself and attempted to help her. Ashley kept asking her if she had a croissant. They bummed a ride home in the same news chopper that found Esther. Lauren: Anyone that survived early 90s Sheila Carter is not to be underestimated. Abby pretended to be Victoria(a child Victor remembers) in order to be rescued...the security team took 2 days to find her. They kept looking over her in favor of the very thin pine trees that resemble Victoria. Tessa: Nikki fell off the wagon again and passed out. There have also been sightings of an older woman with a pixie cut putting on a bear costume and heading in her direction. Let's hope for the worst.
  12. Audra, for whatever reason, idolizes or at least respects that family. Victor especially. Which is one of the reasons I haven't warmed up to her much. Even if she hadn't signed an NDA, I doubt she'd come for them anyway. Nate & Sally didn't, they were wrongfully terminated and pretty much took it lying down too. That aside, I wish we'd seen Audra at least consider suing or trying to devise some payback before giving up. But I guess that would've taken time away from JG living out his cringe fantasy of banging a younger woman, with a woman his age embarrassing herself over him via Tucker Lily isn't a Newman, so the writers aren't going to let her fire people for personal reasons and that be the end of it. I hope I'm wrong and Heather & Daniel just piss off.....Because I'm not looking forward to watching a character get punished for something that the Newmans do with impunity. That's just more of the same bullshit that has ruined the show for me over the years.
  13. Well damn Lily really pulled the trigger 😳. Can't say it was hard to watch her do it though, even with the risk of lawsuit. I enjoyed it. If Lily gets sued for wrongful termination then Victoria and shitty parents better be next. I suppose there won't be a convenient NDA that Daniel & Heather signed so they'll have to stfu like Audra did after Drinki fired her. Nothing to say about Ashley & her 20 personalities other than I want it to be over since JG can't do it right. I didn't watch OLTL in it's heyday but what I did see in some of it's final years was still better than what is being done now. I don't doubt that the good beats the show did with Viki/Niki and later Jess/Tess DID disorders, was likely the doing of other writers with JG sprinkled in. As mentioned before, alters are supposed to be low-key there might be tics or habits that eventually give them away to one's that know them well & interact with them daily. But by that point the goal has been completed or mostly completed and the alter doesn't care about being discovered. Do we even know what the alter's goal is? Other than get Tucker's attention, which was done weeks ago? The OCD is already hard to take seriously(the needless handwringing part of it anyway) but why would the writers force all this, finally bring Connor onscreen just to ship him off again? That's not going to help the audience care about his OCD, serious or not. Also if Connor is at least happier at home it shouldn't matter that he's still showing symptoms. What he has isn't physical so he can be treated anywhere there is a decent therapist. He's gonna have symptoms any and everywhere, not sure why Chelsea doesn't get that but whatever...She needs to take her own advice, and accept Connor's illness in that respect first before tossing him to somewhere far from home....Again... Is it bad that I found her more annoying than Nostrils? He was definitely presumptuous as usual, but he was only parroting what Chelsea wanted like a good little prop. He was more of a dick to Lily & Devon in my humble opinion.
  14. Yeah this is gonna be a sweep and I'm glad 😂 Phylty & Summer
  15. Well sure on paper Lily is doing the right thing, but it's still fair to call her a coward/pushover imo. This show already asks us to suspend our beliefs on how corporate/office politics really work. Would Lily canning Daniel and Heather be unprofessional? Sure, it wouldn't be the first time a character was unprofessional & got away with it though. Nikki fired Audra for sympathizing with her snobby ass and didn't face any legal repercussions or pushback. Moreover, Nate got fired for trying to help Victor, who faked a whole illness, and Nate conveniently didn't sue for wrongful termination or sexual harassment (not that I believe he'd have the balls to do that to queen Victoria). I think Lily can fire Daniel & Heather for making the conscious decision to fuck her over, since they won't leave on their own. If they're as magnanimous as they pretend to be, I'm sure they'll take it with grace. But even if they kick up dust, Lily should not back down. Also unless Omegasphere is on the level of Nintendo, Epic Games, Sony, Microsoft's or WarnerBros gaming platforms, then I'd say they can almost certainly afford to dump it. (Replacing Daniel & keeping is an option too) It was a stupid concept born out of propping Chelsea's lame ass mental illness cure all game or whatever anyway. On that basis alone it can, and should go.
  16. After watching today, I agree but the way it happens just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Which is surprising since, I don't even like this couple 😭 I guess underestimated the fact that I dislike Steffy much more or just dislike the idea that she gets away with being such a bullish, instigating, pain the ass much more. Either way, if Thope breaking up makes her happy or happens because of her yapping, then that's just about reason enough for me to spitefully begrudgingly "cheer" them on. Lol Well bucko, she's a woman. Women aren't people they're objects. They don't have wants unless men say so and men people decide what those wants are. It only matters what men and Steffy want. What show are you watching? 🤡 Yeah that's about where I'm at. Rebound from Lame angle, that's understandable, because Hope has done that before with Wyatt. But Thomas foolishly, haphazardly proposing twice after being told she didn't want to get married, and promptly gets rejected. That's not a Hope malfunction. But if he wants to walk away over that on his own then fine. But in trying to blame Hope, Steffy and Ridge make everything worse. Then Steffy encourages Thomas to take their son out of town (likely without telling Hope) the same son they share custody of because she doesn't cave to his proposal. Notice how Thomas pushing her to wear the necklace(saw that being brought up elsewhere) wasn't a deal-breaker but Hope saying "I love you, but no marriage right now." somehow is a deal-breaker...🙃
  17. I can take or leave March Madness but with that said, for me it was something to get more upset about when soaps were good or even just midly decent. Nowadays? To be completely honest....it's refreshing to be able to take 2 day break from awful, contrived writing without falling behind nearly a week on episodes. Found this on twitter(still a cesspool but this was funny) and to think it was posted before her dream episode lol
  18. Victoria easily/Jill (unfortunate but she's hardly on anyway)
  19. Well.....shit.....I'm a little embarrassed to say that this week, Steffy is almost made me a Thope shipper out of sheer, unadulterated spite. If Thomas weren't acting like an aggy, impatient, borderline abusive jerk I would've already boarded the ship in the most petty way possible already. She was not being supportive to her brother, and said more to push him over the edge than Hope ever has. Rushing into marriage has pretty much never worked for Hope, and only an asshole would find fault in her trying something different for the first time in her adult life. In fact, seeing 2 rich women raised in L.A. put so much stock in marriage was always weird because I know southern, god-fearing christian women that approach marriage with more caution, or even straight up disdain believe it or not(with varying degrees of experience ofc). But at least Hope made sense considering she had the dark cloud of her mother's sins over her head, so her emotional maturity was stunted. Steffy OTOH has no excuse for this June Cleaver-esque nonsense, other than she just wants to be contrarian to Hope. Which is fine, but she should be getting dragged for that by everyone including Thomas. So yeah, I'm never buying that Steffy has such faith in the institution of marriage considering her own is a wreck now, she spent the 2010's marrying/remarrying Lame ass(with Bill tipping the scales in her favor). Now here she is shaming Hope for not marrying Thomas not even a year after her divorce? Fuck off. Hope knows karate so why she's only trying to slowly smack Steffy and not full on beat her ass in the previews is beyond me. I guess Bradley still wants to peddle Steffy as the baddest bitch to ever bad since NeNe Leakes. So she's too good/tough to take a few deserved licks for running her mouth. Awesome. 😒
  20. Whoever decided that Claire needed a dream episode to herself should be put under psychiatric evaluation. Claire definitely has the full of herself part of being a Newman down already. How does her presence prevent Cassie from dying? Claire would've been much younger than Cassie at the time & probably wouldn't have been aware that Cassie was grounded for lying to Nick & Sharon. She would've been home asleep with her parents by the time Cassie went to the party with Daniel that fateful night. Thus still tried to drive him home after he got drunk & had the same accident, and so on. Even if she did live, then Summer is out unless she accurately gathered that Nick is a dog that would end up cheating on Sharon anyway. Which is the only feasible thing about her dream, so I'll give her that one. But then Nick would have 5 or 6(if he adopted Mariah) onscreen children. Noah, Cassie, Summer, Faith, & Christian. If Jordan isn't dead maybe she can thin the herd of Newman offspring by killing Claire & one or two of Nick's offspring. And does she really think that she's so awesome that Abby & Summer can get along because she asked them nicely? We all know JG loves propping boring newbies & Newmans not named Adam, and Claire is both so I don't see her learning anything the hard way because that wouldn't appropriate for a spawn of Victoria's. On the very off chance that Claire is ever ostracized by the Newmans, Adam is the last person that should give a fuck. Considering how she acted towards him having legitimate concerns about her. What happened to understanding that redemption could takes time Claire? If the Newman's ever give her their ass to kiss, Adam should just be like "I told ya so bitch!" and keep walking. Yep, unless Victora cheated on Cole with J.T and Billy. Which given how wooden Cole is, wouldn't surprise or even bother me. But in truth, Claire is just like her mother. She doesn't give a damn about her younger siblings(beyond what they can do for her), and wants to be the exalted/main child. Nice dream Claire. You managed to make the Newmans look weirder & more classless than they usually do.
  21. I'm convinced Josh Griffith changed his mind at the last minute like he always does. Tucker went from trolling Ashley when she went to Paris, tracking her to "avoid" her, to being sick of her presence almost overnight. Now he'll probably be thrown under the villain bus again for Nate/Audra this time. Or perhaps JG really thinks months of Tucker/Ashley going back & forth about who said/did what with stupid flashbacks thrown in was good foreshadowing for Ashley's disease. 50/50 chance knowing him. Connor acting out and behaving this way for attention would be too good to be true. It'd be better than what we're getting for sure. I like the kid enough and the actor is good, so I think he could pull it off. But we're likely stuck with the OCD storyline. Funny enough even though I just criticized him for it, if JG wanted to change his mind halfway through a story this would be a good one to do it to. Which is why he won't 🙃. While Connor chose to leave for the school, Chelsea being self-absored & dropping "Johnny is your brother" bomb on him then trying to kill herself, surely influenced that choice. She knows this but still wants to feel better about it. Throwing Adam under the bus by projecting her failures onto him is a way to do that. Chelsea is one of Griffith's favorite pets so she won't be held accountable for being a trash, undependable parent. Which just makes this plot even more insufferable.
