  1. Was anyone else super annoyed when Stanley and Jessica walked in to see him, and he didn't even get up from the 'magic carpet' to greet them? He sat on his ass and barely acknowledged them. Ruuuuuuude. Aww. I don't mind that. I wondered if they were pulling a Katniss & Peeeta.
  2. Maybe she can show us all the most important move on SYTYCD. "And this, ladies at home, is the HMV." I didn't really like Nigel speaking from the future regarding Serge & Carly's hiphop voting results. How about you critique their dancing, and then let people vote? Seems pretty simple to me. While I feel that Valerie exudes a sincerity and sweetness when dancing, that waltz looked all kinds of sloppy to my (admittedly, completely untrained) eye. Like other posters, I thought her arms were the opposite of graceful. And she and Ricky seem to be a total mismatch, physically. I keep expecting her to scoop him up for the lifts.
  3. Anyone else find it weird that Goran's character, who is clearly speaking with a Croatian accent, is named the uber-American John Woods? Come on. Couldn't they have changed his name once they cast him? My husband and I re-watched the "Halle making out with invisible hallucination ghost on camera" about 5 times and laughed so hard. Also - I get that she would be a bit embarrassed about the weird make-out-with-nobody thing, and she was feeling kinda frantic and crazy when she saw that there was no one on the tape... but why delete it? It basically just made her look crazy and lonely but I feel like it's less suspicious and weird than deleting the footage. We also found the supposed-to-be-dead astronaut colleague kinda funny. He decides to stalk her when she takes out her garbage, but for some reason chickens out. "I'll just scare her this time." Next time: "I'll just show up VERY briefly while she takes out her garbage AGAIN, say a few cryptic things, and then slink away. I'm late for a dinner date."
  4. I bet Truely isn't interested. When Christine asked if she wanted to ride in Daddy's RV, Truely was all, "Nooooope." Smart kiddo. Right? This was so dumb. They're complaining that no one has given them their money yet, and in the next breath explaining that they don't have time for it anyways because they need to take a completely useless road trip to meet complete strangers. Amazing businesspeople, those Browns.
  5. I think the abundance of 'keck' is simply because we're often seeing celebrations and birthdays. I'm pretty sure my husband talks about cake as much as Will, lol. Hmmm, reminds me, we have some birthday cake ice cream in the freezer.... Will put together a 3 word combination this episode! "I make mess", it was too cute. I clapped a little bit! I think he's definitely making some progress with his speech and language. Oh man, that lobster! I react the exact same way as Will, they freak me out. Can't imagine it being as big as I am, lol.
  6. I think his delayed speech makes him an excellent candidate for pre-K. That's the great thing about an early intervention program - they will work on speech and language skills at school. I bet Will would have an absolute blast at school with his buddies, he's such a social guy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Bill addressed the Zoey Outfit Scandal. On a practical note, it totally makes sense to have a diaper change and why not change into a new outfit? I know if I were taking her home (especially a mom armed with adorable girlie clothes!) I would have been itching to put a new outfit on her that I had picked especially for her. Re-watching the scene where Will meets Zoey was just as sweet as I remember. I didn't think for a second that it was staged. I have been loving all the Will & Zoey moments this season, but it was nice to see some classic Bill & Jen together. They are such a lovely couple and it's so obvious how much they care for each other (quirks and all!).
  7. Tell-all = tell-nothing. Meh. I get the overwhelming sense that Brady decided to leave the church, the wives followed, but the wives still pretty much believe in everything they used to. I mean, I get it - they were raised that way and your upbringing is powerful in shaping your life.
  8. Ha ha I'm not sure, all4mom. I haven't really paid that much attention to that aspect of Mandarin, I will have to listen more closely. It would make sense that Will is used to the intonations or speech patterns of Mandarin though. Jodo, SLPs encourage the use of sign and other kinds of non-verbal communication to help kiddos have a way to get their message across while they are working on their speech. Helps them reduce frustration and feel more successful at communicating, and in my experience doesn't impede their spoken development. When you're teaching sign, you sign and speak so you're always modeling both. Baby sign is becoming pretty popular - teaching little ones to sign as well as talk. They usually can sign much earlier than they can speak, but benefit from the ability to express themselves. The signs usually fade away once the natural speech gets going. Hope that makes sense :) I'm also looking forward to hearing Will talk up a storm!
  9. Walnutqueen & Kohola3, I am always happy to share! I'm glad it was of interest to you. Ahhh, the dreaded R! For the last 3 years, I worked mostly with 6-8 year olds and teaching the R sound has been a huge part of my caseload. It's so tough because it's one of those sounds you just can't see, and because people vary so much in how they produce it. I'm on my maternity leave right now, and seeing this episode made me miss work a bit (but let's be clear, just a little bit!). Edited to add: I wonder if Zoey (or Will for that matter) acts much differently when the cameras aren't on. I'm sure the medical appointment would have been tough no matter what, but I bet it was even weirder with the cameras in her face. That being said, they must be so used to it by now, that maybe it doesn't make a difference.
  10. I'm a pediatric speech-language pathologist so I especially loved this episode! Sooo fun seeing a therapy session on TV. She was using lots of tactile (like dragging her finger down her arm to signify the 'ssssss' sound) and visual cues (touching her throat) to help Will remember to use various sounds. Yay! As a clinician, I would have been so nervous to have a session taped - sometimes they go smoothly, sometimes they don't! ;) It's a phonological process called initial consonant deletion. It's not all that common, but you do see it with children with more complicated or severe phonological disorders. I've seen more children that have final consonant deletion, so they leave off the final sound, for example: 'hou' instead of 'house'. There's other phonological processes where kids use 't' instead of 'k' for example (it's called fronting) so they might say 'tootie' instead of 'cookie'. That's obviously a pretty rough intro with not much information, but in general, phonological disorders arise from kids having difficulty with sound patterns (rather than making the actual sounds themselves).
  11. That tattoo....... I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares! Alex and Tara were quite the pair. It always cracks me up how these made-for-TV weddings have like 8 guests attending! Ugh, yeah, Trouble having a huge breakdown after 1 day of ridiculous street dancing was so silly. And sorry, hon - generally models need to fly around the world to their jobs. She really hasn't thought this through!
  12. Yeah, I thought the 1 kid/2 kids thing was interesting. I find that they often have trouble keeping their stories straight on this show!
  13. I'm pretty sure we've heard it almost every episode. This drove me insane. He acted like he was trying to be so cool and just one of the boys. Basically acting like the bearer of bad news, rather than a parent. Josh is seriously the worst. I can't stand the way he just sits and gapes with his mouth open all the time, and acts like he is the same age as all those little boys. He is 19, seriously? His reaction at the no-shirt conversation was absolutely embarrassing. I understand why Robyn is upset. These women know what they signed up for, and probably keep their shit together pretty well most of the time while deeply unhappy, but every now and again it's bound to boil over. It's impossible to meet all of these women's needs adequately and equally. How can he re-invent an anniversary gift every 5, 10, 15, 20 years with 5 different women? He can't. And it sucks for them. But I guess they chose it!
  14. Clearly they're running out of 'gypsies' to feature on this thing... a 14 year-old rodeo contestant with overly involved twin brothers? Yawn. Wow - gypsy mamas be crazy. Is it normal for a girl to have to ask a mother to marry her son? Whaaaa? I honestly wonder if they tell these people that they can earn a bonus if they act completely batshit. Highlights: Horrifying neon orange tux that comes in what I can only assume is a sealed costume package? Above-mentioned tux paired with greasy hair and a dirty old baseball cap (what happened to all the gypsy boys obsessed with their hair?) Patrick Swayze references and tattoo
  15. Didn't really enjoy Shakira's performance. I understand that the song she chose to sing is heavy on the 'effects' or whatever you want to call them, but couldn't she have just performed it without them this one time on a show called 'The VOICE'? Doesn't help that I don't like that song at all. Also turned off by Bria's over the top celebration at being safe. Shhh, be gracious and exit like the others.
